Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: A Painful Loss

Hours later

Angy:

After that kiss the president gave me, I couldn't go back to sleep. I was afraid she might do something to me, so I just lay there watching her.

Now that I think about it, she's sleeping peacefully.

— My life in this world is changing a lot of things in the story. It's probably because I'm not a pervert like Issei. He was always getting beaten up by his classmates or leering at Rias, Akeno, Asia, and Koneko. I wonder what awaits us in the Rating Game. Will things change? —

I said that in a low voice, but I could hear President Rias waking up. Or maybe she was plotting something and wasn't going to let her guard down.

Rias:

The dream she'd had made her happy, and she simply brought her right hand to her lips. She thought the kiss she'd given was part of her dream, but reality was different—Angelica had indeed received it.

Turning around, she saw her pawn and smiled.

"Good morning, Angelica. I'm sorry I came to sleep with you, but I had to since you weren't here yesterday. We already have a plan to improve in the next few days."

She stretched slightly, causing the blanket to fall away and reveal her naked body. She didn't care and continued as if nothing had happened.

"So tell me, did you sleep well? Today we're leaving for a house I have outside the city to train."

Angy:

I couldn't believe she didn't care about showing her body. If I were her, I'd feel embarrassed, but I wasn't going to make a big deal out of it since this was an ecchi anime.

I sighed when I realized she didn't remember what she did to me.

"Yes, I'm ready to train, and I swear I'll free you from that engagement. You should be with someone who loves you for who you are. I suppose you must have a secret crush."

Maybe in this timeline President Rias will fall in love with Vali Lucifer, or maybe another demon. She's always had suitors, and now that Issei isn't around, she could take advantage of the situation.

Rias:

Hearing that pleased her. Her pawn truly wanted the best for her.

"Now that you mention it, perhaps I am falling in love with someone. But I don't want to jump to conclusions yet. This would be my first love, after all."

She smiled softly.

"Believe it or not, I've never been in love before. If I need help with anything, I hope you'll help me, Angy."

She took her pawn's hand. Angy was slowly winning her over with her personality and sincerity. Rias understood these feelings in general, but she still wasn't sure whether it was love or gratitude.

Angy:

I smiled at her because I was going to support her in any way I could, especially since it was her first crush. And now that I think about it, when we fall in love for the first time, we never know what to do or we're afraid the person will reject us, and that's normal. But I'll teach her that later, since right now we should focus on training.

"Well, President, we should go have breakfast. We won't have time to shower. I already showered last night, so I'm fine, but you won't have time either."

I really should shower every night to avoid Rias suddenly appearing and suggesting we bathe together.

Rias:

She pouted slightly and crossed her arms.

"You should have told me since I like bathing with you. I know it sounds strange, but I relax when I'm with you because I can talk honestly since you understand me and give me good advice."

She simply got out of bed and grabbed her underwear to get dressed, as they would be meeting the other members of the Occult Research Club in a few minutes.

Breakfast.

The girls sat down to eat. Angelica noticed Rias was quiet and distracted, clearly thinking about the arranged marriage.

If they lost, Rias would be forced to marry the Phoenix heir. That thought only strengthened Angy's resolve.

Outside, the Occult Research Club gathered in front of Angelica's house, dressed for training.

Asia was the happiest of all. Seeing her friend's home made her excited, and she quietly hoped she could live there someday. She'd ask after the Rating Game.

Angy:

I carried everyone's bags to improve my physical conditioning. As a demon, my strength was greater than a normal human's, I had to use it.

— I wonder if Reynare is still alive… or if that blow really killed her. —

If she was alive, she could become a valuable trump card when Kokabiel appeared. A fallen angel ally would be useful.

— I'll think about that later. Right now, I need to focus on training and beating that arrogant Raiser. —

In the afternoon.

Angy:

I was exhausted after training with Kiba. It helped me see my weaknesses clearly. I'd never had these abilities before, it was all new to me.

Now I understood Issei a little better.

"Thanks for helping me, Kiba. I really respect you. This training is intense, and I could barely keep up."

I lay on the ground, breathing heavily.

Kiba:

He sat beside me, impressed.

"You surprised me, Angelica. If you keep training like this, you'll become very strong in a short time."

He could tell she was gaining confidence.

Rias:

Watching from afar, Rias felt something strange stir in her chest. Seeing Angy so close to Kiba put her in a bad mood.

"I don't think I should approach you right now, Angy," she muttered. "I might snap at you."

She turned away, confused by her own emotions.

At night

Akeno:

She was impressed that her companion could use magic so easily, which is why she placed her hand on her shoulder, saying,

"I'm surprised, Angelica, that you've mastered magic so easily, especially since it's your first time. Now I understand why you're so special to Rias. Anyway, all I can say is that I expect great things from you, and if you do well, you'll earn a good reward."

She whispered the last part in the girl's ear, and it sounded somewhat perverted.

Angy:

I didn't know what to do in this situation. I always knew Akeno was very forward, and now that she was acting like this with me, I was a little nervous.

I don't understand this world. Do girls fall in love with other girls? Or maybe it's all my imagination, but anyway, it wouldn't hurt to try.

Then I mentally slapped myself.

— But what are you saying, Angy? You have to control yourself. Remember that you're in love with someone, and you can't try new things. That would be being unfaithful to that person, so please, Angelica, you have to stop thinking about unholy things. —

Akeno:

The vice president of the Occult Research Club playfully bit her friend's ear and then kissed her cheek, saying,

"I see your taste is rather special, Angelica. All I can say for now is that I'll have fun playing with you and your body when we bathe together. And besides that, I'd like to know your measurements since you're competing with me and President Rias."

She began to giggle a little, noticing the girl's flushed face.

Rias:

She saw Angy again, enjoying a moment with another member of the Occult Research Club. She quickly looked away, seeing her best friend flirting with Angelica, which bothered her.

"Akeno, you'll start doing that with Angelica too. You were supposed to be teaching her magic, not trying to seduce her."

She left, not wanting to see what was happening.

A few minutes later, the members of the Occult Research Club began arriving at the dining hall. They had come to enjoy their meal and chat a bit to catch up on their training.

Angelica and her friend Asia had prepared dinner. To everyone's surprise, it was an excellent meal, and they congratulated both of them.

They also discussed their training progress, and that's when little Koneko mentioned that Asia wouldn't be good at hand to hand combat because she always froze when she tried to strike her opponent.

Rias then said that Asia needed to improve her magic control and that Akeno would have to train her the next day to help her improve, as she could be their trump card in the Rating Game because of her Sacred Gear.

Minutes later

Angy:

I was walking straight to my room, carrying a towel because I wanted to shower and wash off all the sweat. I wasn't going to use the same bathroom as the other girls because I was a little afraid Akeno might play with me or do something perverted.

"It's better to shower alone since I don't want any embarrassing moments, and it's better to do it in my room since I have a private bathroom there."

But fate wasn't on my side because someone grabbed my hand, and it was Akeno. She led me to the main bathroom, where they were all chatting happily.

Although she tried to refuse, she couldn't do anything since little Asia also asked her to stay.

So there was nothing left to do but stay with them, and the night was pleasant for the girls since they had a good chat and there was nothing perverted on Akeno's part, which relieved Angelica a little.

And since she didn't like them calling her by her full name, she asked them to call her Angy, like the president did.

Angy:

Before going to sleep, I wanted to go out and train a little longer, but I stopped halfway because I saw President Rias sitting and gazing at the night sky.

I didn't mean to bother her, but I knew she needed a few words of encouragement since she seemed a bit down today, especially in the bathroom, where she hardly spoke.

So I slowly approached her, hugged her from behind, and said,

"President, you shouldn't be sleeping; you need to rest."

Rias:

She was lost in thought, preoccupied with her feelings for her pawn. Seeing her with her friends today, and how happy they all were, had made her jealous, especially after Akeno's flirtatious advances.

But a hug snapped her out of her reverie, and upon hearing that voice, she blushed slightly and simply replied,

"I don't know what will happen in the Rating Game, and if we lose, I'll be tied to someone I don't love."

She had to lie, and she didn't want Angy to find out.

Angy:

I knew very well that she was sad about her engagement and I was just going to try to cheer her up. Since she would be very important in the rating game, I had to lift her spirits, so I just separated from her and stood in front of her.

"I'll do my best in that match so you don't marry that guy. You deserve someone better, someone who respects and values you for who you are, and I'm sure the right person is out there somewhere who will make you happy; it's just a matter of waiting.

All I can say is that you're a lovely, kind, and sweet girl, and you care about your pieces. But I think the most important thing is that you want someone who values you for what you do and always encourages you.

I know it's strange for me to say this, President, but you shouldn't be sad. You'll see, someone will notice you for who you are; we just have to wait."

Now that I think about it, Issei talks to the President like this, and now I hope I haven't messed up and made her fall in love with me. If that happens, I wouldn't know how to respond, and the only thing that could happen is that she would get depressed and never be the same girl again, since having a first love is a beautiful thing, but if it's not reciprocated, you go through many things, and I knew that very well from my friends.

Rias:

Now more than ever, her heart raced, and it was because of her pawn's words. Without a doubt, she had slowly fallen in love with Angy and didn't know how to tell her how she felt, afraid of rejection.

She didn't care what other people said; she felt wonderful by her side.

"Thank you for your words, Angy. You always brighten my day and give me reasons to keep going, and I really appreciate that."

She approached her, giving her a hug, and before separating, whispered something in her ear.

"I'd like to sleep with you tonight, if you don't mind."

Angy:

I had to give in to her request because I didn't want to see her discouraged. If she was down, the other members would be too.

So I just stroked her head and said,

"I'd like you to sleep with me, but before we do, I'd like you to help me with my training, if you don't mind."

I needed her to use the technique I want to use in the rating game, and with her help, I'd improve a lot. I hoped she'd agree.

Rias:

If she could help her pawn improve, she wouldn't refuse, and that's why she took his hand and smiled.

"I understand, Angy. If you need my help, I'll do it. I just hope I'm not getting in your way, since I don't know what training you're talking about. But don't worry, I'll follow you tonight."

Angy:

I knew very well that she was going to help me, and besides, I changed the original story a bit from here. Since this is where Asia was supposed to help me, but I wasn't going to learn the dress break because I didn't like to see naked women, and that's why I would instead learn to use the Dragon Shot very well.

I was thinking of changing the name of the Kamehameha, but I'll leave that for later; I'll just use the pose.

"Well then, my president Rias, let's go train together since we must give Raiser Phoenix a beating. Since no one will take my lovely president away from me, it's not because you belong to me, I say it for the others too."

I know that sometimes I talk too much, and that's why I'd better stay quiet now and keep walking.

The days passed quickly, but thanks to some of Angy's ideas, they were able to progress in their training, and all that remained was for them to strive to win.

This is where Angelica would come into play, as she knew what was about to happen. That's why she devised a plan to counter Raiser's attack, but she didn't know if history had changed.

If things took another turn, she wouldn't know what to do, although all was not lost, since she knew how to get out of difficult situations, something that served her well.

And that's why she chose not to interfere further in the story, letting it continue its course with only a few changes.

Before the rating game

Draig:

He watched as his wielder stood before him, already having some idea of what he wanted to say.

"Well, if you're asking if you can achieve Balance Breaker, the answer is yes, you can use it. But there's a catch: since it will be your first time using it, you won't be able to maintain the armor for very long, so you must make the most of your time. I suppose it will be a maximum of five minutes or less."

He wasn't quite sure how long she could use it, as she would be the first wielder so young to achieve Balance Breaker.

Angy:

So the training did help, and that's thanks to Rias asking for some heavy wristbands. I suppose I'll gradually master the Balance Breaker since I don't want to rely on the power of breasts, and that's why I'll work hard at my training.

Just like my husbando did, but anyway, I'll improve on that later, and for now, I'll dedicate myself entirely to the Rating Game.

"I understand, Draig, and that time will be useful. I have to stop Raiser from forcing Rias into their engagement, and if I have to give my life to protect her, I will."

A thought crossed my mind: if I died in this world, maybe I'd return to mine. As far as I know, I didn't die, and they didn't give me a choice of who to reincarnate as.

If they had, maybe I'd be enjoying Goku's body right now.

Well, I think that was a lot of information, since you'll probably say I'm crazy about him. Maybe you're right, or maybe you're not. And it's a secret no one will know.

"Well then, Draig, see you later, and I hope I don't make a fool of your power. Because I want people to fear you, and that's why I'll give it my all in this rating game."

Draig:

He just laughed because he could see his wielder's thoughts, and then he let out a great roar.

"You'll see, everything will turn out fine, but be careful with the Phoenix Heir, because something tells me he'll cheat to win this rating game."

Minutes later.

Angy:

I saw that all the members of the Occult Research Club were waiting for me, and I just gave them a smile.

"Don't make those faces, because if you do, you won't fight well. So cheer up, because today we have to break that commitment for President Rias."

I had to liven things up a bit, and when they saw that I wasn't going to give up, the members of the Occult Research Club laughed, since I always livened things up.

But I ignored what they were saying because I was lost in my thoughts. It was because if I gave the orders, the Gremory clan would always depend on me, and it was better that I only intervene when they were in trouble.

They themselves need to grow like demons, because if I take the easy way out, in the future, if I'm not there, they won't be able to get out of trouble.

Just then, I was pulled from my thoughts by someone who had taken my hand. It was the Gremory heiress, so I just squeezed her hand a little so she would feel that I was with her.

"You'll see that everything will turn out very well, Madam President, since we will win this rating game."

Angelica was calm because she knew how things would unfold, since Koneko was the first to be eliminated. She would prevent that from happening, and if she wasn't mistaken, Akeno would be next, and she already had a plan to stop her.

If she prevented those two things from happening, Kiba wouldn't be eliminated either, and the last opponent would be Raiser Phoenix.

That's when she would use the full power of her Sacred Gear, and with the help of her friends, they would eliminate him without any problem.

15 minutes later.

Angy:

The Phoenix Clan Queen will appear any minute now and try to eliminate Koneko, but it won't happen because I'll move at incredible speed.

As I walked, I realized she was already preparing her attack, so I picked Koneko up and said,

"I'm sorry to do this, Koneko. I know it bothers you, but you let your guard down a little. If you don't believe me, look behind you; you'll see the queen about to cast a spell on us."

As soon as I finished speaking, I moved as fast as I could, and in seconds there was a loud crash.

All I could say was,

"She almost wiped us out."

Koneko:

At first, she was surprised and about to scold her friend, but upon hearing and seeing that she was right, she remained silent.

And when they were out of danger, she simply lowered her head slightly, saying,

"Thank you, Angy. If you hadn't warned me, I think we would have been eliminated by now."

The two continued on their way as planned, and just as the queen was about to interfere, Akeno appeared. She had to face Yubeluna.

Koneko and Angy said nothing and simply continued on their path, as that was the plan they had to follow.

Along the way, the Gremory clan knight joined them, and that's where they were ambushed by the rest of Raiser's group.

Angy:

I was fighting the other members of Raiser, but then I saw the vice president of the Occult Club who had defeated Yubeluna, and that's where I had to intervene because if I didn't, Akeno would be eliminated.

"Well, I'll have to use this attack, and I can only do it twice a day since I'm still not used to it."

I just put my hands on my hips and started charging my magic power. You might be wondering if I was imitating the Kamehameha, and I was, but I wanted it to look cool, so I just gathered a huge amount of power in my hands and hoped that the queen of Raiser would rise again.

And as expected, it happened just like in the anime, only this time I didn't give Akeno a chance to attack.

My attack eliminated her, but something I didn't foresee was that my partner almost got hurt, and I was so lucky that she was able to dodge the attack.

— I think the plan is working really well, and all that's left is to fight these remaining pieces and then on to Raiser. —

"Alright guys, let's stick to the plan, we're almost there."

She couldn't say anything more as Grayfia's voice echoed throughout the place, announcing,

"Rias Gremory has been removed, and consequently, Raiser Phoenix wins the Rating Game."

The entire place fell silent, and we see Angy crouched down, trying to figure out what had happened, since she hadn't seen Raiser leave or that they had any other plan.

At that moment, her thoughts were in turmoil.

Angy:

I couldn't believe what I was hearing and I just fell to my knees, hitting the ground hard.

"When did Raiser attack the president? Did I miss something?"

I was really angry with myself because I hadn't been able to take advantage of what was going to happen.

I was about to say something, but we were teleported to the Occult Research Club, and there in front of us was Souna Sitri, who seemed saddened by our loss.

No one wanted to say anything because they had lost, even though Angelica had helped them when they were in trouble.

And something they hadn't anticipated was that Raiser had infiltrated every fight without them noticing, which is how he reached the base and, without hesitation, eliminated Rias with a single attack.

The girl was overconfident because of her lead, and this caused her to lower her guard.

When the former nun realized this, she tried to contact the other members, but it was too late; Raiser had already won the game.
