Chapter 30 - chapter 30

Jump City

Confronting gods was not in any of the teen heros' list of the morning, but the fight between the Greek and Hindu gods needed to be stopped before any more damage was done to the city. Seeing and hearing the supposed fight was now being taken to the moon, was most likely for the best; Apollo was now apparently fighting Buu, Indra was most likely fighting Hecate to keep her off of Buu.

So after seeing the Hindu god jump off into the sky to head into space and land on the moon…go figure with what a god can do…Beast Boy popped a question as the teens looked around at the 'minor' damage done to the surrounding area of the Pancake Cottage. "Soo…. He drawled out while looking around.

"Are we just supposed to stay on earth and let Cyborg's friend Buu deal with the problem?" Beast Boy asked, while looking at the broken street signs and cracked and broken road from the fight, not to mention the damage done to the construction site of a building in progress being made.

Just as Beast Boy had asked his question, a snap of metal from a fallen street light far behind him fell over from its bent over position; the end result of Beast Boy getting thrown into it in his Gorilla form in his effort to tackle the Hindu God with his full weight behind him; unsurprisingly, depending on who you asked, Indra had halted and grabbed Beast Boy from pushing him any further, and tossed him over his shoulder into the street light.

Robin looked around himself as he gauged the circumstances of what just happened, "I'm afraid so, and besides, that sort of fight is probably best for Superman and or Wonderwoman if things escalate more on the moon." He answered, those gods were heavyweights in terms of strength, but that didn't stop Robin from trying to deter them from ruining the city.

If Batman can handle villains and various other opponents leagues above his own, Robin took to heart that he would not back down either…granted, he was a teen, but the point still stands that he had something of a chip on his shoulder to prove himself.

Starfire hovered over and landed beside Robin, still dressed in her Tamaranean outfit she arrived on Earth in; she looked up at where the moon was visible in the morning sky, its orbit would soon have it disappear over the horizon. "I would have offered my help to aid Cyborg's friend, yet that crimson-hued one declared he would assist!" she crooked her hands into her sides as she looked at Robin with a small smile.

Robin looked at Starfire, "Are you saying you and your sister can breathe in space just fine?" He asked her an earnest question on his part, almost surprised another extraterrestrial alien was able to breathe in space without oxygen.

Starfire nodded at Robin's question, "Oh yes! Tamaraneans can live off of ultraviolet energy alone while in space!" She raised her arm to pat her bicep, "We Tamaraneans are the very hardy species, as the term goes, I believe?" she tilted her head at the end in questioning, pondering if she used the term right.

While Robin hummed in his muse at that information, Beast Boy walked over to look up at Starfire's face as he spoke to her, "That's neat! What's it like flying through space then?" He asked.

"Hold up." Cyborg chimed in as he stepped in through the conversation, and pointed at the moon, of which very small visible explosions started to go off on it, "I think we need to atleast address the issue that Buu and that Indra dude are now fighting Apollo and that Hecate woman that butted into the fight. Shouldn't we contact the Justice League!?" He questioned Robin, but expressed a questioning and concerned look.

Robin looked back at Cyborg, his face filled with uncertainty, "...mmmost likely, as much as I hate to admit it…" he grimaced, and gestured at Starfire, "And like Starfire just said, we only have her and possibly her sister to help Buu on the moon." He followed up explaining, before turning his head to give Starfire a glance, "By the way, where is your sister?" He asked.

Stafire smiled and giggled, "Oh, sister went to your human's book building! Blackfire said she needed to use the public computers after she asked around." She answered.

"Oh…" Robin said, giving an understanding look; looking back to the moon, a very small red hairline showed up, which Robin assumed was possibly a new ravine on the moon's face. The fight between Buu and his opponents was actually scarring the moon. On another spot of the moon, tiny storms brewed.

Robin was pretty sure people were either looking at the moon with-

"Yo, check it out!" A random bystander across the street, dressed in skater clothes, pointed up at the moon as he stood beside a friend of his, "A superhero fight is probably taking place on the moon! And it's visible from here!" he gushed with awe.

The skater's friend, who dressed like an average poindexter with specs and all, looked up with an annoyed stare, "Ah come on! Now the moon gods online forum is gonna be filled with the recent fight up there! I just know it!" he aggravatedly gestured at the moon.

While the duo left the area in their conversation, Robin raised his brow at the random conversation that popped up near him; he almost forgot, that with the advent of the internet, everyone had something to share and talk about with online forums.

He even once caught Bruce in the middle of perusing through on that pertained to the identity of Batman, using various accounts to gaslight the topics to derail and such.

Robin shook his head, and turned to look at the others, "I'll get in contact with Batman, but only because this is something that is out of our reach…besides Starfire and Blackfire that can fly up there." He shrugged at the end.

Japan, Kyoto

Through the Torii gate of Japan's moon god shrine entrance and up in the shrine complex, tourists and locals visited the place to honor the shrine and the god himself; inside the largest building in the back, Tsukuyomi himself sat on the floor with a mat under himself, a low table in front of him with a simple computer.

Dressed in a casual plain colored blue kimono, the god scratched his hands through his thin beard as he used his other hand to click his mouse through the forum board of moon gods. He made the site himself after figuring out how to code with human tech, and made the website viewable across the world with language options.

Suffice to say, Tsukuyomi was pleasantly surprised humans still busied themselves with the moon in this modern era, as well as the gods that had domain over the moon.

He has tried inviting the other moon gods to interact with his forum, but a lot of the other moon gods were still behind in getting used to the internet. Khonsu was the first to get on board with Tsukuyomi, Chang'e and Tu'er ye were the subsequent next gods to see what Tsukuyomi made; Soma was the recent one to play along with seeing the site as well, and was curious what mortals across the world saw in his mythos.

The rest of the moon gods from the other pantheons didn't want to bother with the 'interweb' for now, which was fine with Tsukuyomi; the pantheons across the Earth minded their own business among the mortals, some even interacted and mingled with the day to day life of people.

Tsukuyomi frowned as one of his notifications from his forum board popped down from the inbox tab, several threads were being made from different users across the world were being made. While this wasn't anything new, since a lot of activity happens on his site; but the fact is, as Tsukuyomi clicked and viewed what the dozens of new threads, in different languages, were about, all of them were buzz talk about a fight occurring on the moon.

Tsukiyomi furrowed his brow, was that Apollo raising trouble again? That blathering idiot likes to claim the moon belongs to his dead sister Artemis, but most of the lunar gods ignored him. Last time they fought over who had the domain over the moon, the celestial satellite itself cracked apart in their fight on the moon.

The so-called battle of Luna, as most deities liked to call it.

The Presence made short work of repairing the moon, and reprimanding every lunar god before things become worse for the earth and its young bronze age mortals...speaking of…

…still a bit of a fright to Tsukuyomi that Buu was back, but the Earth was still intact, and father had already complained to The Presence, or the human's Yahweh in colloquial terms.

Whatever was going on with that, Tsukuyomi guessed that Buu must have developed a new soul or something, after the Presence used his pet bird on him to tear his previous soul apart. He still remembers himself dealing with the old Buu, he was more than glad to divert him to China's god realm with his illusions.

…The pantheon over in China never did find out he misdirected Buu to their realm of gods…

Back to the matter at hand, Tsukuyomi leaned forward and clicked on a thread from America, and raised a brow of intrigue.

[Jump City's Pink Hero fights Gods!]

Unable to express a wide eyed look on his face, Tsukuyomi clicked on the thread link, and read it to himself.

(Connoisseur of mythos) - I just got done talking on the Versus form board! My friend saw Indra and Apollo at a Pancake Cottage fight over who'd fight Buu. I didn't believe him at first, but as soon as I looked out my window where I could see the restaurant down the road, I used my binoculars to scope out the street in front of the restaurant! Not only is Pancake Cottage where fights break out, but now apparently, the gods are getting in on it too!

(Dastardly Hellfire) - I was there! I saw Buu just sitting and eating his food, minding his own business, then in comes these two gods, wanting to square off with the little pink hero dude.

(Rabbit of the moon) - My friend and I were on the phone during all this! He was walking near that area, and this woman teleported during the fight, and afterwards, my friend said he overheard that the woman was Hecate!

(Greek Huntress) - Hecate was there too?

(Connoisseur of mythos) - Yeah! It's what I overheard when Indra spoke with those new heroes of Jump City.

(Celtic Islander) - No fair! How come you Yanks get all the heroes!

(Darkest night) - I got evidence that Robin was spotted among those heroes. He was part of the team of teen heroes that fought against those alien invaders.

(Connoisseur of mythos) - Back on topic, the fight eventually took off onto the moon. So here I am, looking at the moon with my telescope. It's still early morning for me over here in Hawaii.

(Dastardly Hellfire) - What are you doing all the way over there?! I thought you were in Mexico just last week!?

(Connoisseur of mythos) - Uh, researching the native mythos of the islands now, duh?

Tsukuyomi exited out of the thread, and stood up to walk out of his room. So Buu was indeed over in America, So much information he gathered from that thread alone was quite the help to get some understanding of what was going on, on the moon.

Stepping outside after sliding the door open, the night air felt cool to his mortal shell; crossed his arms to pocket his hands into his kimono sleeves, Tsukuyomi stared up at the moon as saw the new hairline scar just barely visible to the naked eye. The occasional small explosions and fire contrasted to how big they must be to be visible.

Japan's Moon god grunted with annoyance, he was pretty sure the other moon gods would raise a stink over this; at the very least, they could pin their ire at Apollo…and at Buu if they desired. From what Tsukuyomi would guess, the new Buu must have taken a liking to Earth and the humans.

Thus it stood to reason the little pink chaotic creature took the fight to the moon. Less collateral.

Whatever the future had in store for that pink fella, Tsukuyomi was sure Buu would be dealing with old grudges from other gods across the pantheons.

Turning around, Tsukuyomi had best check on his sister Ameterasu, she's been staying inside her shrine home too often, watching anime and reading manga. If she's not careful, she'll become like those humans that stay in and never leave their abode.

She's already done it before in the past many eons ago.

Watchtower

In the outer space orbit of Earth, the space station center for Earth's Super Heros slowly made its path around the Earth; its orbit at the moment had it between the Earth and the moon, so any one Hero could see the Moon and Earth from out of the viewing ports of the space station hub.

At the moment, Batman was still in the computer room before he left for his home in Gotham. He was still uploading countermeasures for many instances, it never hurt to be prepared for the worst.

As Batman typed away, one of the screens rang for him, to which he narrowed his eyes in intrigue, this was either Alfred, Barbara or Dick. Letting the call ring again, he clicked away and allowed the call to come through, "Yes?" He spoke without any other words, seeing Dick on the other end of the call.

Dick, dressed in his Robin uniform and all, looked back at Batman through his communicator, "Just a heads up, Majin Buu is on the moon fighting Apollo." He answered, not bothering to beat around the bush with Batman, which was fine with him. "He had Hecate chase after him, followed by Indra jumping to the moon after her." He informed Batman.

"Hm…" Batman began typing to bring up footage surveillance of the moon from one of his satellites, "I'll tell Diana about this. We just had Apollo come by here yesterday, ranting about Buu." He spoke back to Robin.

Robin's brow lifted a bit, as he spoke with Batman, "What's Apollo got against Buu, he got some sort of history with the Pink Alien?" He questioned.

Batman continued to type, bringing up four separate screens showing Hecate, Indra, Apollo and Buu. "How'd the fight get taken to the moon?" Batman asked from his former protege.

Robin thinned his lips in thought before speaking back, "Buu took Apollo, and teleported to the moon…I guess he figured if Apollo wanted a fight, he'd take it where the city or anyone wouldn't be in danger."

Batman watched as the collateral damage to the moon's surface was being wrought, it was on the level of Superman's tier of strength. This was both a problem and a saving grace. Buu was willing and wanting to take his fight to a safer place, while at the same time, this put him on the same level as being cautious of Superman, should Clark ever go rogue.

The real kicker was questioning how much Buu was holding back against Apollo.

"I'll alert Wonder Woman, she's on the station, Superman is in Metropolis, Green Lantern went back to Oa." Batman informed Robin, those three were just on his top list that would and could help de-escalate and apprehend the two gods. Everyone else was on Earth dealing with their own cities and crimes watching activities.

The Justice League was still growing, but for now, sending Wonder Woman was the safe bet, seeing as how Hecate was among her rogue gallery of villains she's fought. That, and she was a god herself.

Batman never saw it coming that he'd be fighting alongside and against gods, or the matter of fact they exist this whole time.

Every hero and god has been apparently crawling out of the woodworks these days of the modern era, to the point that the average civilian has almost become desensitized to superheroes and gods walking among mankind.

Robin 'hmed' back, before he spoke, "Fine by me, just figured I'd give you the heads up, not like none of us can help."

"What about Starfire and her sister?" A voice chimed in, before Beast Boy's face peeked over Robin's shoulder, to which Robin lightly glared at him, before looking back at his communicator's screen, all the while Beast Boy backed away.

"Anyways-" Robin huffed in annoyance, and spoke with his former mentor, "-as much as I would have asked Starfire to fly up there and help Buu, I don't know if she can contend with Gods. I'm still figuring out on this new team I've found myself with."

"Oh, you are not the wrong, but next time, I will be more than the welcome to help friend Buu out! For I wish to test my strength against these gods of Earth!" A female voice chimed in from the background in broken English, while earning a glance from Robin, " We Tamarans are plenty strong!"

Batman was a bit amused, but didn't show it. His former protege already found himself a team of teens to start a hero fighting squad with, he had figured Robin would go solo when he left Gotham.

Robin let an amused smirk grow across his mouth, "Well don't go biting more than you can chew." Robin answered Starfire most likely, before he looked back to the screen of his communicator, "Alright, that's about it. I'll let you take it from here." He left off with the call ending afterwards.

Batman closed the tab of the screen of the call, before he dialed in Diana to get here quick, the moon was now starting to get storms and twisters on it. That should be impossible, but you had a Hindu god of lightning and thunder fighting against Hecate that could cast any number of magic spells at her whim.
