Chapter 4 - Start Hunting (1)

[Intelligence: It measures your magical power, mana efficiency in using magical spell-related skills, and your capability to learn magical spell-related skills.]

[Wisdom: It measures your Mana capacity, your Mana regeneration, and Magical Resistance.]

[Arcane Perception: It measures your magical sensory sharpness, mana flows, and magical formations]

[Mind: it measures your casting speed, stability, and concentration for magical spell-related skill]

Red read the information again and again, but he could not understand a single thing about these four things. He wanted to understand it because he had higher numbers in these things. This might be his key to killing the Shaman.

The only thing he understood was Wisdom. He understood it correlated with the amount of Mana he had right now. That was the only thing he understood.

Again, without any help or further information about these things. He would not be able to understand them. If he insisted on staying and tried to understand something he didn't know. It would be a waste of time for him. He gave up as he released a sigh. This was when he hoped the adult would guide him.

The thought of going to the Matrons crossed his mind, but he threw those ideas right away. Since the Matrons' authority was absolute in the tribe when the Chief was not around. It intimidated him to come to them.

Red gave up the idea and proceeded to look below. It was the skills, and he was surprised to see three skills listed below. He had a general understanding of skills since the Shaman was famous because of his skills. However, he didn't know what kind of skills the Shaman had, even to this day.

He could confirm the Shaman could use a curse since he experienced it firsthand. That was the only thing he knew, but he knew the Shaman had more skills than just this curse.

How did he know? It's because the kids of his generation loved to talk about it. There was even a group of kids who worshiped the Shaman because of those skills. They raved about how they wanted to be a Shaman and stuff like that.

That was why he was surprised he had three skills. He didn't really understand what the tier meant, but he could tell that the higher the tier, the better the skill was. He learned it with the attributes above, and bigger numbers were better.

[Mana Sense (Passive) - Level 1: An ability to sense mana in your surroundings.]

That explanation caused him to look around. He didn't really sense anything, then he calmed down a little bit. Maybe that would help him sense this Mana. He did his best because he wanted to understand Mana and the magical stuff.

Of course, his attempt didn't bear fruit. He could not feel anything and gave up. This was another surprise because he had level 10 skills. Bigger numbers are better skills. That was what he understood. He tapped the skills with a hopeful heart.

[Levelheaded (Passive) - Level 10: An ability to help stay calm, clear-thinking, and control your emotions, especially in high-pressure or stressful situations.]

Red was unsure if the skill would be useful for him. When he thought about usefulness, it was about usefulness to kill the Shaman. Killing the Shaman had become the highest priority, but of course, he must survive and fill his belly before that.

He didn't plan to kill the Shaman right away. He knew he must plan it carefully if he didn't want to be executed, on top of how powerful the Shaman was.

Red didn't realize that his train of thought was influenced by the skill. However, he understood this skill might be important in his hunt. If his hunting trip went wrong, this skill might be useful to him. This was his first hunting experience, after all.

Then he proceeded to the third and last skill. It was in the Tier 5 Skill category, and he figured out that this might be his strongest skill, even though Levelheaded was level 10 while this one was level 1. He tapped the skill with a high hope.

[Infernal Berserk - Level 1: It is an ability to increase your attributes temporarily in exchange for your 99% Health, Stamina, and Mana. Your Health, Stamina, and Mana will be reduced by 99% after the duration of the skill. Increase all attributes: +10. Duration: 60 seconds.]

Red immediately understood why it was a Tier 5 Skill. It was a powerful skill as it doubled his Strength, Endurance, Vitality, and Dexterity. He put importance on those attributes because he only knew how those attributes worked and how to utilize the sudden increase in attributes.

It was pointless if his Mana doubled in number when he didn't know how to use it. That was his train of thought.

It was a strong skill, but he also recognized the risk. It would deplete his health. If he was not wrong with the calculation, it would reduce his Health to 1. That would leave him vulnerable. It meant he must finish the fight or battle or whatever the situation he was in, or else he might die when the skill was over.

Red let out a sigh, frustrated with how little information he had about this Awakening. He felt like the people and the world were not fair to him. Why would the world let him be born this way? Why would his tribe hate him over something he could not control?

He clicked his tongue as he took a deep breath, calming down. He knew it was pointless to question those things. The most important thing was to adapt to his current situation. Complaining would bring him nothing; it would not help him to get out of his situation. He should use his own hand to get out of this situation, making them accept him, even if it meant by force.

If he wanted to survive, he must adapt and act accordingly until he had the chance that he believed would come someday. Until that chance appeared, he would better focus on himself than on his surroundings.

Red calmed down and got up from his straw bed. He had delayed long enough to check on that blue screen. It was time to pick his weapon and hunt.

He had seen all kinds of weapons in his tribe because he always observed the warriors whenever they were back in the tribe. He had considered what kind of weapon would be good for hunting.

Red got out of his isolated hut and stretched outside. The sun was right above his head, but the weather was quite nice since it was still a "cool" season. It was a good time to start hunting.

Red headed to the center of the tribe. There was no obvious path to his home since he was totally isolated; no one lived near him. After a while, he started to see more huts where the other kids built their homes. Then he entered the area with a proper building.

The home in this area was made of wood. Even though some of them looked like they were about to fall anytime, it was still nice compared to his hut made of straw. Water slid through into his hut when it was raining, but this home provided a better shelter when it was raining.

He knew where the house was where he could pick up his weapon, so he headed there right away. He lowered his head as he started to see more of his kind since he was almost at the center of his tribe. It meant he started to hear their mockery and laughter.

There was nothing he could do about it. The best thing he could do was to lower his head to make sure he didn't see their faces and fingers pointed at him. He had learned it was better for him to do so as it would help to control his emotions.

His feet moved faster, and he quickly arrived in the building. Two people were guarding the storage, and they were warriors who had been left behind to guard the tribe. They wore leather armor and a curved, big cleaver on their waist.

He heard them clicking their tongues at his arrival, but said nothing. They opened the storage, and he lowered his head further. He didn't want to offend the warrior, even though he didn't know how strong he was compared to them. However, they had a weapon that put them at a high danger level.

He just stepped into the storage when he felt a force on his butts. The warrior kicked him on the butts and sent him tumbling forward. He landed on his chest. It didn't hurt his butt, but it was quite painful on his chest where he landed.

He controlled his emotions as he got up and hurriedly checked the available weapon. As he predicted, the leftover weapon was in bad condition.

There were two similar cleavers that the two warriors had outside, but their condition was terrible. It was rusted, and the blade chipped. It looked like it would break if he used it to hunt.

There were two round shields made of wood with rusted metal at their center. It was in a similar condition to the two cleavers. It felt like the wood would break apart with a single hit. There were three bows, but somehow the strings were cut.

Those three bows were quite decent, alas, the strings were cut. He could imagine the other kids cutting the string, so he could not pick a decent weapon for the hunt.

There was one sword, and its condition was much worse than the cleavers. That might be why it was left behind by the other kids. He expected this, but was still angered by the fact that he was left with such a weapon.
