Elisabeth's POV
I should have been more careful with my words. What I meant to say was that he used to work for my father's pack. Instead, I blurted out something vague that left too much room for interpretation.
Growing up, my parents kept me isolated from most pack members. They insisted I maintain distance from the warriors and omegas, constantly drilling into me that as the Alpha's daughter, I needed to stay above everyone else. They painted this picture of superiority that I was supposed to embrace without question.
For years, I followed their rules exactly. I was too scared to challenge their suffocating control. Everything changed when I met Alana and finally found the courage to think for myself. That's when I started getting to know the real people in our pack. I discovered they weren't beneath anyone. They were strong, loyal, and often showed more compassion than my parents ever had.
