Elisabeth's POV

Pain hammered against my temples like someone was driving nails into my skull. My wolf stirred restlessly in the depths of my consciousness, her displeasure radiating through every nerve. She had never been supportive, not since the day she first emerged. Instead, she perched on her throne of judgment, casting disapproval down on me like I was some disappointing subject.

"What do you think you're doing, Elisabeth?" Her voice cut through my thoughts, sharp with condemnation.

I slammed mental barriers between us. I couldn't handle her criticism right now. If she wasn't going to offer anything constructive, she could stay silent in whatever corner of my mind she inhabited.

Her constant disapproval had become background noise since she first manifested, and tonight was just another chapter in her endless critique of my choices.
