Ana's POV
I collapsed into Morris's embrace, finally letting the tears flow freely. All the pain and humiliation I'd bottled up came rushing out in violent sobs.
His hands shook as he worked to untie me, whispering gentle reassurances against my hair.
Those trembling fingers betrayed the deadly fury blazing in his eyes.
Elodie had been lurking in the shadows, but Morris's sudden appearance sent her into a panic.
Watching those thugs crumpled on the concrete, she grabbed her camera and bolted for the exit.
But Morris's bodyguards cut off her escape route before she could make it through the doorway.
She froze, face drained of all color. "You... you can't..."
Morris rose slowly, keeping me pressed against his chest. When he turned toward Elodie, his expression held the promise of violence.
"Having fun watching, were you?"
His voice dripped with dark amusement as he surveyed the beaten men scattered across the floor.
