Morris's POV
I wasn't bluffing when I told Sullivan I'd drag him back to work. I actually went through with it and got my early-retired father to rejoin Welch Group.
Yolanda was obviously irritated. "Your dad's getting older. Why make him work again?"
I shrugged it off. "Dad's still in his prime. He's still got plenty of fight left in him. Better than sitting around the house going stir-crazy."
Yolanda wasn't buying my excuse. She knew I wasn't the kind of guy who'd neglect business just because I was head-over-heels for someone.
She studied me carefully, clearly sensing something was eating at me.
She gestured for me to sit across from her, settling in like she was ready for a serious talk.
"Son, level with me. What's really going on?" Yolanda asked softly.
Usually I could handle anything in the boardroom, but right now I felt like some confused teenager. I hesitated for a moment before spilling everything to Yolanda.
