Ana's POV
Walking out of Patterson & Co. Apparel Design, I felt like I was floating in a dream. The entire meeting had resembled a corporate deal more than a job interview. Morris had dominated the conversation, naturally.
Nolan had ultimately offered me basic freelance projects, and once my wrist recovered, I could work from their office with a skilled designer as my mentor.
At the building's exit, I turned to face Morris, genuine appreciation flooding through me. "Morris, thank you." Without his influence, today would never have gone so smoothly.
My earnest tone seemed to catch him off guard. He paused, then bent closer, his face drawing near mine.
His grin was magnetic, those mesmerizing eyes absolutely spellbinding. "Like I said, skip the thanks. I'll collect what you owe me eventually."
