Ana's POV
The voice behind me made my blood freeze.
I spun around to find Aileen standing in the Vernon Group lobby alongside Ridley and Hughes.
My brow creased. What the hell were they doing here?
The trio seemed just as shocked to see me, though Aileen's surprise lasted all of two seconds before she slipped back into her usual poisonous routine.
Ridley's eyes lit up when he spotted me, but that spark died the moment he took in my glowing appearance.
'So that's where she's been hiding,' he was probably thinking. 'Marcel. Look at all that designer gear—wonder which sucker she's wrapped around her finger this time.'
Aileen's gaze traveled up and down my body before her lips twisted into that familiar sneer.
She laced her fingers through Ridley's and flashed him a saccharine smile. "Ridley, you were so worried your ex-wife would struggle after leaving you. Turns out she's thriving. Just look at those clothes—someone's obviously taking very good care of her."
