Morris's POV
I had just settled into my seat across from Ana when two figures appeared at the restaurant entrance - faces I recognized all too well.
"Edwin? Mr. Patterson? How did you two..." Ana's voice caught, confusion written across her features.
Edwin approached our table with measured steps, his icy stare cutting through me before his expression warmed as it landed on Ana. "Mr. Patterson and I wrapped up our business. Mind if we crash your dinner?"
Ana's eyes darted to me, uncertainty flickering there. Since she'd been the one to invite me, she wanted my approval first.
I caught Nolan trailing behind Edwin, and when our eyes met, he gave me a helpless shrug - clearly as clueless as the rest of us about this unexpected encounter.
"Sure, no problem," I said, managing a smile.
Only after my consent did Ana gesture for them to join us. I stayed put beside her as they took the remaining seats.
When the server brought menus, Ana passed them to Nolan and me first.
