Chapter 126 - Choosing 084s

After digesting Zero Matter, Aaron walked out of the container.

"Are you alright?" Fury quickly asked.

Recalling how Zero Matter had tried to flee Aaron's right hand moments before, he realized his question was pointless.

What on earth is Aaron?

Zero Matter was already dark and bizarre enough, yet Aaron was even darker.

You wouldn't happen to be the legendary Dark Lord, would you?

Fury muttered inwardly, his body unconsciously maintaining a relatively safe distance from Aaron.

Aaron noticed his movement and said nonchalantly, "It's nothing. That thing was too dangerous, so I have already wiped it from this world."

Fury's eyelid twitched.

Aren't you the most dangerous existence in this world? How dare you call Zero matter dangerous?

It is clearly just a 'wretch' trying to survive.

Aaron saw through his thoughts and sneered, "You don't believe me?"

"I believe you." Fury nodded repeatedly.

He dared not disbelieve.

"Whether you believe it or not is irrelevant. That thing was about to open an interdimensional gate at any moment. Once whatever is inside runs out, not only will your base be finished, but even Earth will be doomed."

As Aaron spoke, he took Hill's laptop.

"Let me see... I can sense other similar auras in here."

Fury glanced at the empty container, then looked at Aaron's calm expression.

Did he believe him? Perhaps he did, or perhaps he didn't.

In any case, Zero Matter had vanished, and no one would refute whatever Aaron said. He would tentatively believe it.

Aaron then reviewed some documents. He selectively picked out several objects that might be useful, though he wasn't sure exactly how.

In fact, most of what was here were remnants of Hydra.

Many were related to the power of the Space Stone.

There weren't many items with special properties similar to Zero Matter.

"Hmm, there's no Gravitonium here?" Aaron frowned slightly.

From the depths of his memory, he recalled that S.H.I.E.L.D. was not the initial discoverer of Gravitonium. Instead, it was dug up by a man named Ian Quinn.

Gravitonium is an extremely rare element. When electrified, it can create a gravitational field, thereby mastering anti-gravity technology.

In Marvel, there is a person who gained the ability to control gravity after absorbing Gravitonium—he is Graviton.

At his peak, he could destroy Earth using gravity.

Although Aaron had already mastered gravity during his time in Asgard, he wanted to see if absorbing Gravitonium could further enhance his abilities.

Thinking of this, he gave up on Gravitonium and instead searched for two other special objects—the Kree monolith and Di'Allas or the monoliths.

The former possesses the ability to traverse space.

The Monoliths, however, are three, controlling the abilities of space, time, and creation, respectively.

Since he was already here, Aaron naturally wanted to get all the useful 084s in one go. After all, S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't have the ability to use them. If they remained in their hands, they would not only fail to function but would also cause more trouble.

"The kree monolith... this must be it."

After browsing through the files, Aaron only saw the kree monolith but did not find Di'Allas.

"Bring me these two items."

Hill glanced at the identification numbers and immediately turned and left.

Fury opened his mouth, noticed Aaron's gaze, and reluctantly closed it again.

Forget it. He needed to find a way to get rid of this bad luck first.

Before long, Hill came in carrying a briefcase.

"We only store the Obelisk (Diviner) here. As for the Kree monolith, it is currently located at the Triskelion Building."

"It seems Mr. Pierce places great importance on that item."

How could he not take it seriously?

Aaron knew that the monolith was related to Hydra's founder.

Once the monolith was activated, it could teleport people to Maveth.

Hydra's object of worship, Hive, Inhumans, were exiled on Maveth for thousands of years.

Hive's worshippers constantly sought to bring them back and gradually developed into Hydra.

However, by now, Hydra was no longer the Hydra of the past. It had split into several factions.

Such as Baron Strucker in Europe, and Alexander Pierce in the United States, among others.

As the leader of the current strongest Hydra branch, Pierce was not interested in welcoming Hive back.

His current sphere of influence even surpassed Red Skull's during World War II.

As long as the Insight Project succeeded, he could lead Hydra to become the Master of the World.

Which ambitious person would want another Master above him?

This is why Pierce placed such importance on the Kree monolith, keeping it constantly under his watch.

Fury's expression changed.

He hadn't felt this way before, but now, if something was related to Pierce, it definitely meant trouble.

"I will personally retrieve that stone."

Fury immediately guaranteed, "I will figure out the situation with the monolith and send the item to Osborn Industries as soon as possible."

Aaron nodded and took the briefcase from Hill's hand. He noticed there was also a document on top. He scanned it, and his expression shifted slightly.

After thinking for a moment, Aaron said to Fury, "You haven't forgotten what you promised me yesterday, have you?"

Fury had a bad feeling. He wanted to deny it, but he didn't have the courage.

"You... tell me."

"Currently, Osborn Industries is short of two secretaries."

Aaron glanced at Hill. "I think her abilities are quite good. What do you say?"

Fury forced a smile that looked worse than crying. "Hill is the Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., and also the person designated by the United Nations Security Council to assist me. Isn't this inappropriate?"

Hearing this, Aaron picked up his phone and tapped it a few times.

In reality, he was directly infiltrating the signal network.

Fury's eyelids twitched wildly.

You're doing this again?

Soon.

As the phone rang, Fury slowly answered the call.

"Mm-hmm, alright. No problem, I'll arrange it immediately. I will absolutely satisfy all of Mr. Aaron's requirements. I guarantee it."

Putting down the phone, Fury looked at Aaron with eyes full of helplessness.

You are a god, so why did you come to Earth only to learn its worst cultural aspects?

He had actually mastered Earth's method of leveraging power to bully others to perfection.

"Can you handle it now?" Aaron said with a half-smile.

Fury nodded. "I will immediately arrange Hill's resignation procedures."

Fury really wanted to refuse. Hill's competence was obvious to all. She was definitely the best administrative deputy, helping him deal with many troubles.

However, what could he do? He was also desperate.

The person who had just called him was the President.

But this time was different from before.

This time, the President represented not only the United States but also the will of the other four permanent members of the United Nations.

They had bypassed Alexander Pierce of the United Nations Security Council and directly intervened in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s personnel arrangements.

Normally, S.H.I.E.L.D. was directly under the jurisdiction of the United States.

But in reality, when S.H.I.E.L.D. was first established, it was governed by the Allied Forces.

Later, in order to gain global special operations authority, S.H.I.E.L.D. naturally came under the management and monitoring of the United Nations.

Otherwise, how could a purely American organization freely execute armed missions in other sovereign nations?

If it was just the President of the United States, he wouldn't be able to resist, let alone the collective will of the United Nations.

Life was difficult.

Fury sighed.

"Very good." Aaron nodded with satisfaction.

Being able to take someone away without resorting to force—that was the highest level.
