Chapter 3 - 3

Natasha gave a shy smile, looking at Foggy Nelson in front of her. She gracefully reached out and took his business card, saying gratefully, "Thank you!

I didn't know these two big dogs were so fierce. Why did they want to attack me?"

Just as Foggy was about to speak, the blind young man beside him poked his lower back with his cane, urging, "We need to hurry. Alvin only makes 50 servings of sizzling steak a day. If we're too late, we won't get any."

Reminded, Foggy quickly nodded and said, "Right, right, we need to hurry.

Excuse me, miss, but we have to go catch our belated dinner."

After speaking, Foggy quickly pushed open the door and called to the blind young man, "Hurry, Matt, I don't want to miss Alvin's sizzling steak."

Natasha, once again ignored by the two young men, felt very strange. Many things today were a little different from what she had expected.

However, this made her even more curious about what kind of place this was.

With two giant wolves blocking the door, forcing her way in was clearly not a good idea. But as an agent, she always had many methods.

Natasha took out her phone and made a call, saying in a flustered voice, "Hello, 911?

I'm on 34th Street in Hell's Kitchen. There are two giant wolves here, and they seem to want to attack me. Please come and save me quickly~"

About 15 minutes later, a police car drove up, and two police officers got out.

A middle-aged officer first walked towards Natasha and asked, "Miss, did you call the police? Where are the giant wolves you mentioned?"

Natasha was very surprised that the middle-aged officer in front of her actually ignored the giant wolves right in front of him and came over to ask her. Didn't he see the young officer running over to greet the two giant wolves?

Natasha frowned, asking in confusion, "Aren't those giant wolves? They almost attacked me when I tried to enter this restaurant just now." As she spoke, she pointed to the two giant wolves who were impatiently shooing away the young officer.

The middle-aged officer listened and smiled, saying, "Those aren't giant wolves. These two are the pet dogs of the owner of the Peace Hotel, and they are registered with our police station. They have no history of attacking people without reason. As for why they wanted to attack you, well~ maybe you got some scent on you."

As he spoke, he looked at Natasha thoughtfully. The old officer smelled an unusual scent on her.

Natasha said "Oh" and then, looking at the middle-aged officer with a meaningful gaze, asked, "So if I want to go in, you two officers won't just watch me get attacked by these two, um~ pets, right?"

The middle-aged officer, who had some suspicions about Natasha's identity, smiled wryly and said, "Of course you can go in. I guarantee Thor and Dom won't attack you. But I have to warn you, the owner here, Alvin, is a good man."

Natasha smiled noncommittally, ignoring the warning in the middle-aged officer's words, and slightly raised her chin, indicating that she was going in.

Inside the restaurant, there were only 6 dining tables and 2 booths along the wall. It was already packed. Foggy and Matt found two seats at the bar and sat down.

"Matt, why did we leave so quickly just now? It's rare to meet such a beautiful woman here! Oh~ I forgot you can't see." As soon as the chubby Foggy finished speaking, he noticed a slender, delicate-looking girl behind the bar, holding two glasses of lemonade, about to place them in front of them. But upon hearing Foggy's words, one glass was handed to a boy in a wheelchair who was reading a book behind the bar.

The boy grinned, showing his two missing front teeth, and said, "Thank you! Sister Jessica!" The other glass was placed in front of Matt, and the girl thoughtfully tapped the side of the glass, making a "ding~" sound. She reminded Matt, "Your lemonade. The sizzling steak will be a little late today, please wait a moment!"

After speaking, she glared at Foggy again, then turned and left the bar to settle the bill for a table of departing guests.

Foggy protested, "Hey~ Jess, you can't do that. Why didn't you give me a drink?" He then turned to the little boy behind the bar, "Hey, buddy, that lemonade in your hand should be mine. If you give it to me, Mr. Foggy Nelson will write you a letter of commendation."

The little boy made a face at Foggy, picked up the lemonade, and mimicked someone drinking red wine on TV, swirling it, sniffing it, and then taking a small, contented sip.

Good-natured Foggy comically made a clawing gesture, threatening the little boy. The big and small duo played across the bar.

Matt smiled and shook his head, feeling helpless and amused by Foggy's carefree nature.

At the deepest part of the bar, against the wall, there was a stove with ten small burners. Alvin, wearing an apron, stood with his back to the bar, tending to ten sizzling steaks cooking simultaneously. Without turning his head, he said, "Foggy, if you disturb our Mr. Nick Kaster from reading again, you can say goodbye to tonight's dinner. Our Mr. Kaster only got a D in math yesterday."

"Hey~ Alvin, we agreed not to tell anyone!" Nick waved his arms, protesting loudly.

Alvin didn't turn around, but said playfully, "Yes, we agreed. You were supposed to quietly finish your homework in your room today, but you ran to the restaurant again."

Nick said a little guiltily, "You went out just now, and Sister Jessica was all alone, so I wanted to come and help." Then, remembering something, he held up the book in his hand and shook it, "And I was just reading." He then put on a diligent expression.

"Yes, Mr. Kaster, who loves to read, can Batman in your book teach you how to get an A?" After speaking, he used a special iron clamp to pick up a finished sizzling steak and placed it on a pine tray. He picked up the tray with one hand and placed a steak on a rack on Nick's wheelchair. "Kid, take this to old Stan and talk about Batman with him. See if you can get a tip."

"Alvin, you can't do that. Nick is still a child! He just doesn't have much talent for studying. You can't force him; it will only make it worse." Foggy protested to Alvin, which earned him a big eye-roll from Nick.

"Foggy, are you going to discuss how to educate children with a Chinese person? Are you sure?" A white Fat Man (chubby man) also sitting at the bar waiting for his meal, propped his chin with one hand, letting the fat on his chin spill out to the sides, making his cheeks look particularly swollen. The chubby white man looked at Alvin's busy back with reverence and continued to flatter him, "You know, Chinese children are all very good at school. My former school teacher even said that Chinese people have a kind of witchcraft that can make children especially smart."

Foggy seemed to dislike the chubby white man and said in a sarcastic tone, "Sheriff, why do I only see you on this day of every month? What are you waiting for? What's so good about this place that the famous Sheriff's Garage owner sits here obediently on this day of every month? Is it for that steak?"

"Hey, Foggy, you need to show me some respect." Sheriff yelled angrily, but no more excessive words came out of his mouth. Here, those who were familiar knew that the owner, Alvin, hated people using foul language, especially when children were present.
