[In this system, when combat begins, each character rolls initiative to determine how many actions they get in combat. 1 to 9 means one action in the first round of combat, 10 to 19 means two actions, 20+ means three. Unlike a lot of other systems, the party almost always goes first and can act in any order.]
GM: There are two bandits at either end of the carriage's hallway. The two to your right are about 3 metres away, wearing leather armour, one is holding a mace, the other holds a shortbow with a sword, he looks like the leader. The other two on the left are wielding short swords but are twice as far away. They all look gruff and dangerous.
[Everyone rolls their initiative, Prestant gets 2 actions, Iuona gets 1, Sundae gets 2, Aviditi gets all 3.]
Aviditi: "I knew it. Fucking rats!" I enter a rage, rush out of the cabin.
[Aviditi's rage lets her roll a d4, set it aside and add it to her attacks. She rolls a 3.]
Aviditi: I charge the nearest bandit, bringing down my axe upon him.
[In this system, there are no "rolls to hit" instead, damage is rolled and applied, on a 1 the attack misses, on a maximum result, a critical occurs and another die is added to the roll. Aviditi rolls and hits for 9 damage.]
GM: Your axe comes down and takes a big gash out of the first bandit, he stumbles back and says, "Demon bitch! You're gonna regret that."
Sundae: I hide and make myself as low as possible as I sneak out of the cabin into the hallway, I poke out and line up the bandit then let loose.
[Sundae rolls and crits! As she has the sneak attack ability, she adds an extra 1d8 to her damage, along with the usual extra damage. She rolls her critical die, then crits again! After everything is calculated, she does 26 damage!]
GM: Your arrow whizzes past Aviditi and right into the bandits neck. It is a swift death. He collapses to the ground in a heap.
Sundae: I wiggle my tail proudly.
Iuona: I pull out my staff and take a defensive stance between the bandits to the left and Sundae. "Surrender now, brigands, and I assure you your punishment will be a swift one."
GM: The bandits ignore your generous request.
Prestant: I follow behind my fiancé and touch her staff, it ignites with magical flames.
[Prestant casts Enchant Weapon, which gives Iuona's weapon extra damage for the next minute.]
GM: The leader of the bandits looks down at his fallen comrade, uncertain where the arrow had come from that pierced him. He holds fast and unleashes a volley of three arrows in rapid succession towards Aviditi. One of the arrows bounces off of her rock-hard musculature as the other two find purchase.
[Aviditi defends the attack and channels her rage to shrug off the damage, but still takes 17 damage, a sizable portion of her pool of 37 hit points.]
GM: The other two bandits approach Iuona, due to the cramped quarters, only one is able to get close to her.
"Damn, you're one fine ass elf bitch. I wouldn't mind getting a taste of you." the closest one says as he swings. His sword clangs loudly against Iuona's mail, but the force of the blow still rattles her.
[Iuona defends but takes 9 damage.]
Prestant: "Iuona!." I shout with great distress, and I conjure a powerful fire incantation. I ignite the bastard.
[Prestant upcasted his Ignite spell, causing a total of 40 damage to the bandit.]
GM: The bandit screams as he is set ablaze with all the elemental might you can conjure. When your magical fire is done, he is but ash on the floor.
Prestant: I then channel my fiery energy into Iuona, energising her to act.
[Heart's Fire gives an extra action to an ally at the expense of one of Preston's own.
Iuona: I say some words of guidance to myself, beseeching my ancestors spirits as step forward and swing my now flaming staff, trails of embers arcing behind it.
[Iuona casts True Strike, giving her advantage (roll twice and take the highest) to her attack. With the enchantment, she deals 7 damage.]
GM: You slap the bandit across the face with a satisfying sizzle, he grasps at his now burnt cheek with his left hand and lets out a cry of pain.
Aviditi: I look down at my injuries and then back at the bandit leader. "Is that all you got!?" I run my tongue across my lips hungrily as my anger builds, I drag my axe against the wall scraping it as I charge and swing.
[4 damage.]
GM: The bandit leader dodges the brunt of your swing but gets caught by the tip of your blade.
Sundae: I spring forward, the bandit leader gets a clear look at my cleavage as I soar over the top of him and Aviditi. As I land I rotate 180 degrees and pull out my short swords, one in each hand as I take him from behind.
[Sundae has multiple abilities being activated here, as she is a bunnykin. Once per encounter, she can hop up to her speed for free, then she will be able to automatically crit as he is currently next to an ally, finally, because she is dual wielding, she rolls with advantage, not that she needs to. Finally, she uses her other two actions to try and incapacitate the leader with her Low-Blow ability, however he passes the DC to save against it. After all is done, her strike does 16 damage and taunts the leader.]
GM: "What the hell? Where did that thick ass rabbit girl come from?" The bandit leader turns to Sundae, pulling out his own short sword he attacks three times in rapid succession.
Sundae: "Oh o!"
Aviditi: "No chance!" I roll and rush around and take the blows in Sundae's stead, relying on my rage to shrug off the worst of it.
[Aviditi takes 13 more damage.]
GM: You are definitely starting to feel the numerous attacks from the bandit leader taking their toll on your body.
Aviditi: "Don't worry, I've been through worse." I say to Sundae as I protect her.
Sundae: I look up to her towering figure with both awe and arousal.
GM: The bandit next to Iuona swings but the attack is easily deflected by Iuona's staff.
Prestant: I know we need to end this quick before Aviditi get hurt even more. I launch another fully charged fire incantation, but this time at the bandit leader as I use the smouldering embers to enchant my own blade.
[33 damage.]
GM: You're ignition causes the bandit leader to catch fire, by the end of burning, he is a crispy charred mess.
Iuona: "Don't you see, you have already lost? Surrender now and I will keep myself from sending you to your ancestors." I say trying to goad the bandit into surrendering.
GM: Give me an Influence check with advantage.
[Iuona rolls her Influence (+2) and gets a total of 14.]
GM: "Alright, fine!" The bandit drops his sword, as the rest of his group.
Sundae: "Oh oh oh, let me tie him up!" I hop forward with a length of rope and a wide bucktooth grin.
