The Undying Realm wasn't just a random place any immortal could walk in and walk out of. It was a forbidden place heavily guarded by two barriers being powered by a powerful miasma core.
''Sheng Chong!'' her desperate voice echoed as she landed safely at the threshold of the forbidden realm. The Dragon Kings had specifically forbidden anyone from entering this realm. If any trespasser survived, they would be severely punished by the Great Order of the Fourth Heaven.
Xueyao took a moment to examine this dark and desolate place. It looked like a place of torture for sinful immortals and demons. A wasteland of old high mountains and heavy winds. She remembered all the heavenly rules about this place. And how risky the ancient rumors about coming here said it was. It could even cost her her immortal life. But everything was worth saving her friend from this place.
Xueyao paused when she got closer to the realm, and two powerful defensive barriers became visible. She stepped back to observe. She saw the large, circular Insidious Miasma outer barrier forming a huge dome around the forbidden realm. But she could sense the constant release of the destructive force fields in the atmosphere and within the outer barrier she suspected might be caused by a hidden inner barrier.
They were double, vertical chains of multiple x-shaped miasma energy oscillating along the parameters of the stationary outer barrier, releasing force fields so strong enough to cause powerful and multiple destructive repels on the body of the outer barrier. Though the inner barrier remained invisible to the eye, the effect of it could be sensed by any highly sensitive immortal.
Xueyao examined the large barrier as if she was staring at a dead end. Her glossy gaze revealed that she would be torn apart faster than her brain could register the pain if she tried to step into the barrier.
But somehow, someone wicked enough found a way to have her dearest companion trapped in there and she wasn't ready to give up just yet.
If the barrier wouldn't make a way for her without destroying everything she was made of, she would have no other choice but to try and break her way through it.
Presently, having the weakest dragon bead inner core with the most insignificant level of strength of spiritual energy, she couldn't use it to break through a simple ice barrier. But the four ice pins her master once gave her for her protection could be useful. It was originally made by her master to break through unseen forces and kill any threat at first strike.
Xueyao stretched forth her right hand and used her spiritual energy to summon the four ice pins. They were as long as a thirty centimeters ruler with sharp edges at the top and bottom. Each glowed with the palest shade of white. Once Xueyao could grasp the four ice pins, she fired all four of them at the barrier. The rippling energy it created on impact made her stagger on her feet for a few brief seconds and Xueyao watched in amazement as two of the ice pins proved to be strong enough to break through, while the other two were crushed under the weight of the invisible inner barrier.
Xueyao's eyes widened when three angry red streaks of lightning from where the Miasma core was positioned destroyed one of the pins into atoms on impact and sent the other one flying out of the outer barrier. The force threw her several feet back, grazing her left arm, and she landed hard on the ground as blood gushed from her mouth.
A cynical laugh followed their arrival as her three nightmares landed before her broken form with pleased looks on their faces.
''I told you she was crazy enough to believe we would be capable of kidnapping her parasitic friend and having it chained out here,'' Lan Zixuan mocked and the three burst into laughter at her struggling, pathetic form on the ground before them. Lan Meiyun looked the most pleased that their little dirty game on her this morning worked.
''Sheng Chong should have been sent back to Temperance Hall by now after holding him hostage in Lan Zixuan's quarters long enough to send you to your demise.''
Xueyao raised her head to look at the three in disbelief.
''Impressive, isn't it?'' she said, with her arms outstretched and the hatred for the three of them grew deeper than a well in Xueyao. If only she wasn't born a weak and useless immortal dragon! They wouldn't even dare lay a finger on her or even her beloved tapeworm friend.
The stinging pain in her arm from the four ice pins fueled the agonizing groan she made at their evil presence. But it only wanted to make Lan Meiyun laugh.
''It is forbidden to come here as it is the resting place of the Immortal Black Dragon. The supreme Dragon in the whole of the immortal realm.'' she continued, taking slow steps before her.
The blood trickling down the length of her arm flowed with another unusual energy of bright small tendrils of gold inscribed with tiny heavenly writings. It trickled down with the blood and gathering strength on the ground on which she lay.
''The consequences of breaking this heavenly rule are either being killed by the insidious miasma energy barrier or surviving enough to be punished greatly by the Dragon Kings.''
Xueyao lowered her head in pain as her head suddenly began to hurt terribly and she was gradually burning inside.
'' I, Lan Meiyun, followed this sinful immortal trying to break into the sacred restricted grounds of the Immortal Black Dragon and caught her right in the evil act!''
The repelling effects on the outer barrier grew more violent. The inner barrier began to show its true form as it moved. The wind around them became fierce as Xueyao grew weaker and felt drained.
''For the punishment for her crimes, I will propose death!''

The silence after her arrogant declaration was broken when the repelling impact of the inner barrier destroyed the outer barrier in one powerful blast. Knocking the three nightmares off their feet, destroying nearby rock formations into untraceable atoms, Xueyao instantly collapsed in unconsciousness.
The Miasma core sensed the destruction of the outer barrier by an external force and responded by gathering all its defensive strikes of lightning, directing it all at once to the threat.
The golden tendrils of energy mixed with blood sensed the incoming backfire and acted quickly by bringing Xueyao's unconscious form high above the ground, forming a protective shield around her. Every violent strike was effortlessly repelled by the safe golden bubble, beaming with heavenly writings around her. After the Miasma core had done its worst, the protective bubble became alive more than ever, sending its first response to the restless Miasma core, causing the entirety of the Undying Realm to quake as both the Miasma core and the rotating inner Miasma barrier got destroyed completely in one blow, leaving the realm and the Undying Mountains defenseless and exposed, with Xueyao still unconscious in the realm.
