~Becklan's POV~
When I stepped out, I put on one of Leon's oversized silk shirts and climbed into bed, propping myself against the pillows as I waited for him.
It took hours. I was almost drifting off to sleep when the heavy bedroom door finally clicked open. Leon stepped inside, looking more exhausted, the sharp lines of his suit rumpled as if he had been through a war.
"Babe?" I whispered, sitting up and rubbing the sleep from my eyes as I watched him step into the room. "What happened? Why did it take so long? I thought you were only going to talk for a minute."
Leon didn't answer right away. He moved with a quiet, tired grace, peeling off his blazer and tossing it onto a chair before kicking off his shoes. I slid to the edge of the bed, my legs dangling, waiting for him to say something, anything.
