Aurora jumped forward. Her body enlarged and transformed in mid-air.
The small frame of a female human turned into an almost two-meter tall white elk. Its long and complex pair of antlers constantly emitted snowflakes that danced around its body.
The elk did not have fur. It did not have flesh or organs.
What was running toward Mater was only a white skeletal frame with blue lines running all over it.
The temperature around the elk was reduced significantly. Every breath Mater took produced a cloud of white smoke.
The elk shook its head widely. Immediately, a large pillar of clear ice shot up from beneath the darkwraith's feet.
It encapsulated the darkwraith entirely. Its dark body turned into water as it tried to maneuver its way out of the ice. However, the pillar did not have any openings this time.
It was a perfectly-sealed pillar of ice, a coffin for the dead.
When the body of the darkwraith touched the Death Ice, it immediately retreated away. Its flesh was invaded by a gray color and constantly fracturing away.
Mater's cat mouth smirked. "Death Ice isn't just any ice. The act of touching it alone will make you closer to death."
The clones rushed at Mater. Arrows made of ice appeared around Mater and shot at the clones.
They weren't able to move past the arrows this time. Their bodies were invaded by the gray color and constantly breaking down into smaller pieces.
"Even water can be killed."
Aurora got to Mater's side. She emitted an incredibly cold air that made the black cat shiver.
The [Body of Ice] passive ability of Aurora made her more powerful if the environment was colder. Her [Glacial Elk] had an aura in a 30-meter radius that lowered the temperature. Both of these abilities worked together to make her unstoppable.
But it only lasted for 180 seconds.
"We don't have a lot of time, Aurora. Better focus." Mater meowed.
The Glacial Elk responded with a noise. In her true form, Aurora lost the ability to speak human tongue. But still, with the telepathical link, they understood each other perfectly.
"Yes, Master!" Is what she said.
The clones were bombarded with the Glacial Arrows and turned into gray ashes.
The darkwraith put the green sphere to its mouth and blasted a way out of the ice pillar.
It jumped out of the entrapment.
Aurora immediately bombarded it with countless arrows. She didn't care about how much Chaos she was using.
The arrows pierced through the body of the darkwraith. Harming it further and pulling it closer to death. Its dark body was invaded by the gray. However, because of its healing ability, its flesh was constantly being replaced with new ones.
"Stop. Don't waste your ammo. Fight as I say."
"Yes, Master."
"Use your abilities only when I say so."
The darkwraith growled in pain. It grabbed the green sphere and threw it to the water surface on the side.
The sphere slid on the water, calling forth more clones from the wastewater.
This time the wraith summoned five clones out of the sewer.
Mater ignored the clones and flew toward the darkwraith. The clones needed time to get on the platform. Aurora followed him closely but kept a safe distance away. She was still a glass cannon even in her true form and getting near the darkwraith wasn't that good of an idea.
Mater released two Nether Spheres at the darkwraith. He shot at the wraith from above so the spheres would stick at its location even if it passed through its body.
The sphere went through the darkwraith. They spun widely at its feet.
The darkwraith didn't seem to be able to maintain its water state for too long. Its body was starting to turn to normal. It had no option but to run away from the location.
Mater followed it closely and spammed the Nether Spheres around its location, preventing it from running away.
"Glacial Coffin, now!" Mater meowed.
"Yes, Master!" Aurora said.
The ice pillar emerged from the floor and trapped the darkwraith. It shrunk its body to avoid touching the ice.
The green sphere shot up from the water surface and banged on the ice. It pulsated green energy and was able to chip the ice off.
"Aurora's Death Ice is still a bit weak…" Mater thought to himself.
"Use Glacial Arrows now, Aurora. Aim at that sphere."
"Yes, Master!"
Countless arrows formed around the ice pillar and shot at the green sphere.
The sphere immediately created a barrier to protect itself. The Death Ice Arrows banged on the barrier and cracked its surface.
The sphere gave up on rescuing the darkwraith and flew around the ice pillar. It tried to find a different spot to dig out the ice.
Aurora followed it closely, preventing it to save the darkwraith.
The barrier broke under the pressure of the arrows. One Glacial Arrows smacked on the sphere, completely extinguishing it.
"Is that it?" Mater meowed.
The darkwraith wailed loudly. A second green sphere appeared in its right eye socket. A thick green shockwave blasted out from its location and freed it from the cage.
Mater grabbed onto the Dark Grimoire tightly while it was blown away by the force.
A new green sphere emerged. The dark wraith grabbed the sphere immediately and placed it at the mouth to release multiple beams at Mater.
The Dark Grimoire screeched through the air and evaded the continuous attacks. The green beam dug out countless holes in the ceiling. Water started flooding out and got onto the sewer platform.
"Those useless humans are going to die if this place is flooded!"
"Shoot it, Aurora!" Mater shouted.
"Yes, Master!"
Glacial Arrows shot at the darkwraith, interrupting its casting.
The darkwraith snapped its head toward Aurora and started shooting at her. The skeletal elk summoned an ice pillar in front of it to block the beams.
"Get back, Aurora!"
[Crow's Call] cool-down had finished.
The white elk turned its back and ran as fast as it could while Mater positioned himself farther from Aurora.
Once he deemed the radius was good, the black cat opened its mouth.
The cawings of crows filled the air again. The clones that just climbed onto the platform fell to the ground and squirmed.
The darkwraith covered its ears and stumbled.
"Hit it with everything you have!"
Mater blasted the darkwraith with Nether Spheres.
Aurora ran as quickly as she could to get the darkwraith back into the effective range of her spells. She didn't use Glacial Coffin and only used Glacial Arrows.
The Glacial Arrows pierced through the darkwraith and the green sphere. Both of them were hurt severely. The green sphere was crushed into nothing once again.
The darkwraith struggled and tried to get away from the bombardment. A third green sphere appeared in its right eye.
Suddenly, the arrows stopped. Right at the moment the effect of Crow's Call ended.
Mater landed right next to the darkwraith. The cat's sharp teeth were revealed with a grin. Its mouth blasted out a shockwave that sent the darkwraith backwards but not its green sphere.
Mater's soft paw grabbed the green sphere.
