This is an information chapter about his Heavenly Restrictions.
Rein (MC) was born with four different Heavenly Restrictions. Normally, such a thing should be impossible, but fate works in mysterious ways, granting him four distinct abilities, each paired with its own unique tradeoff.
For context, he is a half devil.
1. Enhanced Physiology
Much like Toji Fushiguro from JJK, Rein has a superhumanly gifted body. He is much stronger than a standard supernatural being physically.
Tradeoff:
As a half-devil, Rein was born with zero demonic energy. However, this restriction is adaptive: his soul automatically rejects any energy system parallel in nature to demonic power.
Meaning:
If he were reincarnated into any other race that uses demonic, holy, or magical energy, he would still have none.
Exception:
Divinity, Senjutsu, Ki, or anything similar in nature are not affected by this restriction.
2. Temple of Time
His right eye has the power to see two hours into the future. The future he sees is near perfect, but not set in stone, any major changes in the present can alter it. He is given three slots per day: he can use each slot individually to see someone else's future, or expend all three at once to see his own.
Tradeoff:
His right eye is blind, and this blindness is permanent, incapable of being cured by any means.
Appearance: Due to the unique nature of this Heavenly Restriction, his right iris appears exotic, featuring a clock-themed pupil.
3. Erasure
It grants Rein the ability to erase a target from existence by eating their heart (or an equivalent core organ if the target has no heart). Once he consumes it, the target is erased completely. All memories, records, relationships, and traces of the target's life vanish or rewrite themselves to maintain a consistent reality. Photos change, documents become blank, and history corrects itself, making it so that the person never existed. Only Rein (or with whom he shares his memories) remembers them.
Tradeoff:
Every time he erases someone from existence, he permanently loses 10 years of his lifespan. These 10 years cannot be restored or replenished by senjutsu, magic, or any other life-extending means.
4. Essence Protection
Provides existential protection by making his soul and mind extremely resilient. It grants near immunity to all soul- and mind-based attacks.
Tradeoff:
Any form of external supernatural healing methods will cease functioning on him. Only his natural healing factor (or him using Senjutsu on himself) will ever work.
