We reached the Hostess of Fertility fairly quickly, and of course, we attracted some attention.
I heard some conversations, as they spoke quite loudly. Many were wondering who I was and why I was in Hestia's company. I simply ignored them, but if they dared insult Hestia...
Someone was also looking at me, quite... disgustingly... No, it wasn't Freya; the last time she looked at me, I didn't feel disgusted, but this time it was different.
Entering the establishment, it was already quite crowded, so much so that practically all the tables were occupied.
"Let's find a free table." Hestia said, to which I nodded.
We started looking around to find a free table, and soon enough, we found one, and I led Hestia to it. It was then that I again felt that gaze, presumably Freya's, watching me.
Turning my head, I saw the waitress staring at me rather intently. She was a rather pretty girl with gray hair and matching gray eyes. She was dressed in a light green robe with a white headband. She kept staring at me, and as soon as I saw her, she looked away and pretended to work...
This girl was Syr, the goddess Freya in disguise. I couldn't help but find her cute, even though that wasn't her true appearance.
In the Norse mythology of my former world, Syr was also one of Freya's aliases.
We sat down and waited for the waitress, who was... Syr.
Is she doing this on purpose? Does she want to know who I am and what I'm like?
"Good evening, Lady Hestia." said the black-haired waitress, approaching our table.
Lady Hestia? Does Freya have some kind of fetish for "mistresses"?
Hestia looked at Syr.
"Hello, Syr, we were just about to order." said Hestia.
"Of course, but could you satisfy my curiosity about that beautiful girl sitting next to you?" Syr asked Hestia about me.
Hestia proudly puffed out her chest, causing his to sway, and I couldn't help but blush from staring at her, which I also happened to see Syr smiling at me.
"This is my 'daughter'!" Hestia said, her voice filled with pride.
I was a little embarrassed by her praise of me, but oh well...
"My name is Evernight." I said.
"Nice to meet you, my name is Syr Flova. I work here as a waitress, but if you want to talk, I'm always available." she said, winking at me.
I smiled awkwardly at her little flirtation, but didn't say anything.
"Evernight, have you heard of Freya's family?" she asked casually.
I simply nodded and smiled to myself.
"Yes, they say the goddess Freya is too lustful, so I don't want to approach her, in case she rapes me." I said.
I saw Syr's eyebrow twitch, and she gave a tight smile.
"I assure you that's not true." said Syr.
"Hm... As far as I remember..." Hestia interjected, but Syr interrupted.
"So, what would you like to order?" asked Syr.
I could tell she did this on purpose, to keep Hestia from saying anything about her.
Heh-heh.
In the end, we ordered meat stew and wine, which I declined because I don't like wine and instead had regular juice.
Actually, our dinner was prepared quite quickly, but given Syr's interest in me, that's not all that surprising.
Still, the atmosphere here is quite cozy, a medieval eatery owned by Mia Grand. As far as I remember, she was a captain in Freya's family, but left the family and now owned her own small restaurant. Looking at it another way, it seems like she simply retired.
Suddenly, I heard a whisper and looked toward the entrance, where quite a large crowd had gathered...
Loki's family...
Of course, I noticed Riveria, who was surprised to see me, and next to her stood a boyish girl who was looking at me... lustfully...
To be honest, I didn't mind if such a look came from a girl, and given Loki's personality, it was understandable. She liked to grope girls. And then I showed up, I... Well, the truth is, she wasn't my type, not at all, and no, it wasn't because of her looks, but simply because I didn't like her personality.
And who I really didn't expect to see among the Loki family was Bell Cranel. But perhaps some butterfly effect had kicked in, and my appearance in this world had already changed his future fate.
And before they could even approach, a white-haired boy with wolf ears appeared in front of our table.
Bete Loga...
I didn't like this guy before because of how arrogant he was, even though he was basically just a mutt...
"This table belongs to Loki's family!" he said haughtily, looking at Hestia and me.
Hestia stopped eating and, frowning, was about to say something, but I put my hand on her shoulder and looked at him again.
"Where is it written? Or maybe you bought it, which I doubt." I said coldly.
"Everyone knows that!" he barked.
"Who's everyone? Your friends, the mongrels?" I asked. I saw his eyes turn bloodshot. He growled and was about to lunge at me, but Riveria stood in front of me and stopped him.
"Bete, stop," she said, holding him.
"But…"
"Enough, Bete, this isn't the place for a showdown," the blond-haired man said, approaching the table, and everyone else followed.
If I remember correctly, he was the captain of the Loki family.
"Okay," the beastman retreated.
Riveria relaxed a little and turned to me.
"I didn't expect to see you so soon, Evernight," the elf said.
I smiled at her and replied.
"Well, Lady Fate has her own plans," she replied, then looked at Hestia.
"So, you're in Hestia's family now?" she asked, to which I nodded.
"Ahem..." we heard a cough coming from Loki.
Riveria and I turned toward her.
"Riviera, would you care to introduce us?" she asked the elf.
Riveria sighed and pointed to her goddess.
"Evernight, this is the goddess Loki, the head of the family. This goddess is Evernight, the mysterious girl I met this afternoon," the elf said.
"Nice to meet you, such a beauty. Perhaps you'd like to chat a little about this and that," Loki said, her voice coquettish.
Before I could, Hestia stood up and glared at Loki.
"You flat-chested goddess, don't you dare touch my daughter!" Hestia growled, standing in front of Loki.
"What, did you say cow?!" Loki snapped back.
I noticed how everyone in Loki's family simply rolled their eyes, apparently accustomed to their goddess's antics—well, everyone except Bell.
I simply shook my head and stood up.
"You can take the table; we've already eaten anyway," I said, looking at Hestia.
"Goddess, maybe we should go home?" I asked, to which she nodded.
I decided, to avoid any serious insults between the goddesses, we would simply leave.
I saw the reluctance on Loki and Riveria's faces for me to leave. While that other woman looked at me with an angry glare, which amused me.
As I passed the others, I also noticed two of the Loki family members also staring at me with interest.
They were Ais, the blonde swordswoman, and Finn, the captain of the Loki family, but since they didn't stop me, I simply walked past them, and Hestia followed.
Enough, we soon returned to this semblance of a home...
I need to buy a proper house ASAP, otherwise I feel like this isn't a home, but a drug den.
"Evernight... The thing is, I only have one sofa..." Hestia said, but I understood where she was going with this.
"It's okay, I'll spend the night at the hotel," she replied.
"No!" she screamed, grabbing my arm.
I looked at our hands, and apparently realizing what she'd done, she immediately let go of my hand and blushed.
Darling!
"Um, I mean, if you don't mind, of course, there's plenty of room for both of us on the couch," Hestia said, continuing to paint.
This couldn't help but make me smile.
"Well, if the goddess wants it, then I certainly can't refuse," I said with a mocking tone.
I wonder if anything interesting will happen tonight? Or maybe I'll wake up in the morning with my head pressed against the goddess's chest...
