— Foresight (SSSR)

The user can see two seconds into the future.

Eliron took in a deep breath, the condensed mana in the air flowing into his lungs and igniting his nerves.

'I'll have to use foresight in short bursts…'

The skill drained far too much mana, so he had to be careful when using it or else he would run out of mana before the fight was even halfway through.

"Let's do this!"

The giant lunged, swinging his mace like a careless butcher.

But just a few seconds before he had lunged, Eliron had already seen his attack pattern. He swerved to the side as the mace cut past him, then he drove his sword forward.

Goliath lifted his axe in time, both weapons screeching as they met each other.

He smiled. "Not bad, kid."

Boom!

The mace met Eliron's sword, sending a vibration flowing through his arms, his bones threatening to crack.

Eliron took a deep breath, the mana in him intensifying, and then he swung his blade with even more force, meeting Goliath's mace with a clang.

He unleashed a variety of strikes, dancing around Goliath like a seasoned fighter.

It was like he was everywhere at the same time, his indomitable sword technique finding the nicks in Goliath's defenses.

To his surprise, Goliath found himself on the defensive for the first time in his life.

But his current state was not born out of fear, it was because he had chosen to study his foe for a bit.

'His swordsmanship is impressive,' he mused. It was far better than anything he had seen even after years on the battlefield.

Still…

His strikes lacked sheer destructive power.

"Such sword skills are wasted on someone as weak as you!"

Bang!

One heavy hit with the mace sent Eliron flying back, his body crashing into one of the flaming huts.

The roof collapsed, the fire surging with even greater intensity.

"Eliron!" His female companion screamed, her eyes wide in shock.

Goliath grunted and dusted his body that was now lined with marks.

"Such a waste."

He glanced at the woman his boss had taken an interest in, the elf with enough beauty to tilt nations.

"You're coming with me."

The girl cast a murderous glare upon him and raised a single finger, calamitous energy forming in them.

"Take another step if you wish death upon yourself," she said, her voice cold and composed.

Goliath smirked and lifted his axe. His muscles tensed, dark purple energy surrounding the entirety of his body.

"I've fought plenty of mages in my prime, you won't be any different-- GAH!"

He buckled, falling to his knees as he vomited blood.

"W-what the hell?"

Badump, badump!

"ARGH!"

Goliath could hear his heartbeat thundering in his ears, his heart rate intensifying with each passing second.

Then a sharp pain thrummed through his body, making its way from his chest to every other area.

It was as though a monster was ravaging his heart from within, ripping it to pieces like a rabid beast.

His mind turned hazy as he rose to his feet, holding his head with both hands, his body shaking from pain.

"Ahhhhhhh!" He screamed once more, blood dampening his voice.

'I need to get away from here!'

He turned away from the woman who was watching him with a shocked expression and ran towards the other mercenaries, only to collapse right in front of them.

The mercenaries began to scream out to him.

"Goliath? Are you alright, Goliath?!"

"Shit, he has been poisoned!"

"Poisoned?! How is that possible? The wood elves don't use poison!"

Then suddenly, Goliath sat up straight, his eyes vacant as he stared around him.

"He's alright!"

"I knew Goliath wouldn't be taken down by some mere poison!"

Goliath could hear their voices, but he wasn't hearing words, what he heard were screams, snarls belonging to creatures of hell.

The world was red, the fire was violet and the men in front of him had transformed into vicious demons.

They were monsters, fiends that needed to be annihilated.

"Die! Die! Die!"

Goliath rose up like a frenzied beast, decimating the mercenaries with merciless efficiency, their screams drowning as they gurgled their own blood.

Within less than five minutes, Goliath had exterminated every single one of them.

And with no mercenaries left to fight, Goliath turned his attention to Yennefer.

"Witch… devil… fiend…!"

Before his gaze, she was transforming from one monster to the other, the world tilting as he took a step forward.

But before he could go after her, Goliath felt a tap on his shoulder.

"?!"

He immediately spun, his eyes locking on Eliron.

"Little… d-d-DEMON!"

Swish!

Goliath swung both his axe and mace, delivering a two-pronged attack, but Eliron dodged both blows, moving just before the attacks struck.

It was almost as if he could see the future.

Then he spun the sword in his hand before driving it right into the titan's chest, causing him to stagger back.

"Argh!!!!!"

The giant grabbed the steel, trying to yank it out of his chest as blood poured out of his mouth.

"I'll kill you, I'll fucking kill you, you bitch!"

He tore out the blood-soaked sword and tossed it to the side, then sprinted, each step louder than it ought to be, each subtle motion registering in Eliron's vision.

He saw the movements before the giant even made a single step, and so he moved with that foreknowledge.

The mace exploded on the ground, sending dirt flying around them, the axe zipped right above his head, sending wild currents brushing against his face.

And then the elbow came…

Smooth, precise and deadly. A move delivered based on pure instincts.

Eliron tried to dodge this one, but although he had seen it coming, it was far too fast for him to evade.

The elbow crashed into his gut, causing blood to spew out of his mouth, his body quaking from pain.

But he smiled through blood-stained lips as he latched onto the elbow.

He already knew he would not be able to dodge it, so he was prepared for this outcome.

Using the giant's arm, Eliron pulled himself to his shoulders, wrapping his legs around his head before placing both fingers on his head.

[Million's Poison]

A dark green mist erupted from his fingers, engulfing the giant's head.

He screamed and swung wildly, darting from place to place—

Goliath didn't even last five seconds before he collapsed, his large body crashing into the cold dirt.

Eliron stood up, his body shaking from using too many skills.

'Damn it…'

His vision was already getting blurry, his limbs growing weak as he fell back.

'I need to do something about this body…'

He could hear a faint voice shouting his name, just before he fell atop Goliath's bloodied corpse.
