Every reply from Rey only served to fuel their rage. Yet, Rey faced them with a coldness that felt like ice.
Having stood there listening to enough, Sai stepped forward, gritting his teeth.
"Shut up...!!! What are you so proud of? You are alone, and there are two of us. Your blue smoke won't stand a chance against our swords!"
Rey looked at him slowly.
"There are two of you... is that your strength? No matter how many times you add zero, the answer remains zero. Even if there were ten of you, the only thing that would change is the body count of the dead the result remains the same."
"Rey... you have great faith in your power," Izuma interjected. "But arrogance blinds the eyes."
Hearing Izuma's words, Rey paused and slowly tilted his head.
"Arrogance...? When rabbits stand before a lion, what use is it for them to complain about the lion's arrogance? My eyes are not in darkness; rather, they are opened toward a great truth that you cannot see."
"Rabbits... us?! You will meet your end at these foothills today!" Sai gripped his sword tighter, the energy within it beginning to race, struggling to break free.
Seeing this, Rey watched him for a moment, a cold smile appearing on his face.
"That is the third time you've said you'll kill me. Your words have sharpness, but your actions lack speed. Who is truly arrogant here? Is it you, who challenges a power far greater than yourself? I can silence you without even touching you."
"No more talk...!" Sai lunged forward.
Rey looked at the blue glow between his fingers. It rose like thick smoke.
"True. Words are for the weak. I have been talking for too long. But right now, even the energy in your sword is suffocating because of me."
Hearing that, Izuma tried to lift his sword.
As Rey spoke, the smoke from within him was already rising behind them like a looming shadow. Yet, Rey remained calm a terrifying calmness that felt like the silence before a massive storm.
