Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: Shirou Turns Into a Demon!

It started when Sylphy wanted to help Shirou by delivering something he had left behind, so she went to the village on her own.

Of course, she knew this might cause trouble, but Lilia's legs weren't good, and she was the only one in the Greyrat family who could do it. Also, Sylphy made sure to wear a hat to hide her hair, thinking the village kids wouldn't recognize her that way.

Yes, Sylphy wasn't worried about her hair color anymore, or about being left out by the other kids.

After knowing that Shirou and Rudeus would treat her normally and wouldn't leave her out because of her hair color, Sylphy let go of her worries and started facing life in a better way.

Even if everyone else hated her, as long as Shirou and Rudeus didn't hate her and wanted to be her friends, Sylphy wouldn't be scared or confused anymore.

With that in mind, Sylphy took Shirou's package and went to the village.

It went smoothly. Sylphy quickly found Shirou on patrol and gave him the package he had left behind, as well as his lunch.

Shirou even patted her head and praised her, which made Sylphy very happy.

Everything seemed fine, and in fact, nothing bad actually happened.

But because it went so well, Sylphy relaxed a bit on the way back. She didn't notice a sudden breeze that blew her hat off.

Also, by chance, some kids from Buena Village saw Sylphy and recognized the Superd from a long time ago.

The kids started shouting, and Sylphy got scared and ran back to the Greyrat house, thinking that would be the end of it.

But the village kids probably hadn't found anything interesting in a long time, or maybe they were really determined to beat a Superd, so they didn't let it go. Instead, they started spreading rumors in the village, saying that a knight's family was hiding a demon and had joined forces with an evil demon.

The adults didn't pay much attention to these words, thinking it was just kids playing around.

Most of the villagers liked Paul as their leader and trusted Shirou, who often helped them. They didn't doubt him much.

But Sylphy felt worse and worse, thinking she was causing trouble for the Greyrat family.

Even worse, after spreading rumors, the kids seemed to think it wasn't interesting enough, so they started gathering around the Greyrat house.

The Greyrat house didn't have the big yard it used to, so the village kids could easily see inside.

When Paul, Rudeus, and Shirou were home, they didn't do anything.

But often, when everyone else was gone and only Lilia and Sylphy were left, the village kids started acting wildly.

They didn't dare to break into the Greyrat house, but they did shout and make fun of Sylphy outside the house.

Sylphy didn't want to care, and she didn't want to cause more trouble for the others in the Greyrat family.

But when she heard the older kids start insulting Rudeus and Shirou, calling them demon helpers and saying they didn't deserve to be knights, Sylphy couldn't control herself anymore. She decided to put an end to it herself.

One day, when the kids came to bully her again, shouting insults outside the house, Sylphy stopped running away.

Even though she was scared, nervous, afraid, and worried, she gathered her courage and walked out of the Greyrat house.

"I, I'm not a Superd, and I'm not a demon! Stop insulting me!"

Facing the kids who had been bullying her, Sylphy finally stopped running and chose to face the kids who were causing her pain and trouble.

Her reaction surprised the Buena Village kids, and they even shrank back a little, not expecting the timid demon to become so strong.

However, people always want to see good things broken, and they want to smash good things into pieces.

The more Sylphy showed how strong and determined she was, the more she made the kids want to hurt her.

"You say you're not a demon? If you're not a demon, why do you have green hair!"

"I... I..."

Sylphy didn't know how to answer the kids' accusations. She wasn't good at arguing with people, and the courage she had gathered only allowed her to face the older kids.

Seeing her speechless, the other kids stopped shrinking back and started laughing and shouting:

"A demon is a demon! Superds should just die!"

"The knight family must have been tricked by you, an evil demon, for taking in an evil Superd like you!"

"Maybe the knight family is also a demon, so they're helping this Superd!"

"Yeah, yeah, that knight kid named Shirou must be a demon too, or why would the adults praise him so much every day? Demons must have some kind of magic to charm people!"

"Evil demons, just die already!"

"..."

All kinds of shouts and laughter filled the air. At first, they were all attacking Sylphy, but later they started bringing up personal feelings and attacking the Greyrat family and Shirou.

Because Shirou had done so well over the years, he was often the "other kid" that the village adults talked about.

This was understandable.

Shirou was so well-behaved and reliable. Even though he was a kid, he acted like a real knight, often helping the villagers and hunting monsters.

Even the meanest villagers would praise Shirou when they talked about him and tell their kids to learn from his good character.

The kids didn't like this, and the more the adults praised Shirou, the more they resented him.

This resentment and jealousy built up over the years and finally exploded with Sylphy's situation.

They finally found a way to attack Shirou, accusing him of being a demon who charmed people using demonic magic.

Sylphy couldn't accept what the kids were saying.

She couldn't stand the fact that the Greyrat family was being attacked because of her.

"Shi, Shirou is a good person... You can't say that about him..."

"How can we believe what a Superd says!"

Sylphy's small protest didn't make any difference.

The kids' cruelty completely surrounded her.

The Buena Village kids quickly got tired of just shouting insults, and some of them couldn't wait to hurt Sylphy.

However, since they were near the Greyrat house, they might get the adults' attention or run into Paul and Shirou, so they couldn't do anything there.

One of the kids shouted, "If you want to prove you're not a demon, come with us. Do you dare?"

"I... I..."

Sylphy hesitated at this obvious trap.

She didn't want to go, and she planned to wait for the adults and Shirou to come back. But when she thought about what the kids had said, she couldn't control her emotions. She wanted to end it herself and stop them from insulting the Greyrat family and Shirou.

"I'll go with you! I'm really not a demon!"

Sylphy's attitude was very firm, and her expression didn't change at all.

But this didn't change the kids' attitude. The kids crowded around Sylphy and took her to a field outside the village, surrounding her.

"What should we do next? Throw mud at the Superd?"

"Hitting the head is ten points!"

"I'm really curious about how Superds are different from humans. Let's just strip this guy naked!"

"Good idea, good idea!"

"..."

Without worrying about the Greyrat house, the kids finally showed their cruelty without holding back.

Sylphy stared in shock as the kids surrounded her. She realized how reckless and foolish she had been.

"You... don't..."

"Demons don't have the right to resist!"

The kids laughed and rushed forward, reaching out to grab Sylphy.

Sylphy's weak body couldn't resist, so she could only use the beginner magic she had just learned to try to fight back.

*Thwack!*

A water bullet hit a few kids.

It didn't stop them, but it made them even more excited.

"She really is a demon! She can use magic!"

"Finally showing your true colors, huh, evil Superd!"

"We have to punish the demon!"

The kids laughed and pushed Sylphy to the ground.

Without being taught or understanding justice and morals, human nature was fully shown in these kids.

Sylphy didn't know what to do, and her tears flowed freely, hidden by her messy hair.

"Hey, what are you doing!"

Suddenly, a cold voice spoke from nearby.

Sylphy and the kids turned around in surprise and saw a red-haired boy walking slowly from a distance, led by a blonde boy.

For some reason, even though he looked only a few years older than them, the expression on his face was as scary as a demon crawling out of hell.

In the kids' eyes, his cold appearance was even more terrifying than the Superds described in books—
