Cherreads

Chapter 1 - Most Authentic Warhammer Game

"Daily Thoughts, everyone, are you loyal?"

Inside the bridge tactical room of an Imperial Moon-class cruiser with its main engine disabled.

Daniel sat in front of the Thinker console. After sending his daily greetings, his fingers tapped quickly on the keyboard.

The typed text was sent to a chat group called 'Warhammer Bull Horse'.

"Earth's first 100% authentic virtual reality game, set in Warhammer 40,000."

"You can experience becoming a Rogue Trader, Astartes, Mechanicus, Titan Knight and other professions and fight for the Emperor."

"This game uses brainwave interference dream technology, so gaming time is equivalent to sleeping, so it can be said to be both restful and entertaining."

"Appointments are limited and are on a first-come, first-served basis."

Earth, a high-end residential area.

Mordecai smiled happily when he saw the group chat message.

"Boasting is tax-free, so everyone is letting themselves go?"

"It's like being number one on Earth right away. It's 100% true. You don't even try to trick a kid like that!"

He typed quickly on the keyboard and hit send.

Warhammernerd: "How real is it? Can you feel the justice of those witches of Slaanesh? Can they lick me all over?"

John Warhammer : "Oh yeah, you can feel the burn, alright. And it's not just receiving—you can dish it out too, provided you've got the guts for it. Not only can you bring the joys of Slaanesh, but you can also lay it on thick with the blessings of that fat guy in the garden."

HahGay : "HAH GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!"

FackSlaneesh: "These guys are abunch of weirdos!"

IloveNurgle: "Just mute those guys, let's get back to the topic ,Virtual Reality, it's such an old online novel setting, and the group leader is still bragging about it!"

Master Warmaster: "You don't understand. The older something is, the more interesting it is. An old engine is simply easier to drive than a new one. They don't make them cars the way they used to..."

SeriousSam: "Wait, are you telling me a '100% authentic' Warhammer game doesn't let me violently lay the smack down on Slaanesh right in Nurgle's secret garden?"

Ilovecrawfish: "Forget that! I wanna put on a show—a striptease—in Khorne's Brass Fortress and sing, 'I feel good!'"

Fulgrimnation: "You guys are way out of line. I just want Brother Emperor to kiss me, hug me, and lift me up high, like a proper child of the Imperium!"

HahGay : "HAH GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!"

Fulgrimnation: "Bro...."

Ilovecrawfish: "Don't mind him, he only knows those two words..."

HahGay : "HAH GAAAAAY!"

AllOrksmustdie: "Let me take a peek at what the group is saying... By the Emperor, these damned heretics are off the rails!"

IloveNurgle: "This Slaanesh culture is spreading like wildfire—it's a flood and a beast, poisoning the well for the Empire's youth."

SpaceKing: "Remember guys B positive!"

"."

Seeing that the chats among the group members were becoming more and more obscene.

The experienced Daniel decisively posted a pornographic picture of horny slaneeshi demons, interrupting the group members' chat and bringing the topic back.

"If you want to play, you can sign up now. It's 100% authentic and guaranteed to amaze you. There are only a limited number of spots available for the closed beta test, so it's on a first-come, first-served basis."

Warhammernerd: "Uh, group leader, please stop fooling people, okay? A 100% realistic virtual game doesn't exist at all. The technology is just in it's infancy."

"Virtual reality technology is too far away. It will take at least 50 years to be successfully developed and put into commercial use."

Fulgrimnation: "The classic fifty years. When I was a kid, I heard that robots were becoming commonplace, and nuclear fusion would take another fifty years. Even now, it still takes another fifty years."

IloveNurgle: "If there really is technology that allows playing games in a virtual world to be like sleeping, what kind of game would it be? Wouldn't it be better to apply it to the office field and let the cattle work hard even when they sleep?"

SeriousSam: "Not every work culture is japanese work culture @IloveNurgle"

The social animal who was captured by the emperor and used as a beast of burden: "There's no point in saying more. I'll post the link. If you want to play, just click in and sign up."

The next second, the URL link was sent out.

"I want to see what kind of new scam it is!!"

Mordecai in front of the screen moved the mouse and clicked in.

The computer page jumps.

**This website has not been registered or verified and is high risk. Do you want to continue accessing it? **

Mordecai smiled contemptuously, clicked on the advanced options, chose to ignore the risks and continue the visit.

The screen continued to jump and entered an empty website page.

Nothing, just a few lines.

**100% holographic immersive game - Warhammer Online, current number of reservations: 0**

**Reservations available**

**Clicking on the reservation means you agree to the contract terms**

**Detailed explanation of the contract content. Expandable**

"The more I look at it, the more they look like scammers. They have money for virtual technology but no money for a website!!"

Mordecai finally understood the saying that when people are speechless, they will really laugh!

At least spend some money to fix the interface.

Who would fall for such a crude scam?

"Let me see what you have in mind, you liar!"

Mordecai moved the mouse and clicked to confirm the appointment.

The page refreshed, the number of reservations increased by 1, and then there was nothing.

The web page did not continue to jump, and no registration interface popped up.

"What the hell? You don't even need to register a game account? Are you trying to make fun of me?"

Mordecailing was confused, as if his brain was being severely humiliated.

Inside the strategic room of the Moon-class battleship.

The number of appointments displayed on the holographic screen jumped slowly.

**Number of reservations: 15/15**

Daniel breathed a sigh of relief, finally he had fooled the players.

He stretched his sore neck a few times and then sat down on the cushioned chair behind him.

At this moment, a light curtain with a golden double-headed eagle emblem on the top and golden flames burning on the edge appeared out of thin air in his field of vision.

**Mission: Summon companions completed.**

You will receive 500 Exp Points, and the rest of the rewards can be claimed at the shrine.**

Congratulations on gaining experience. Level: LV1-LV2.

Comprehension skills: Prayer.

(The user can obtain the Emperor's blessing, temporarily increasing their physical value, and nearby friendly units can obtain corresponding blessing gains)

Skills learned: Firearms shooting (beginner).

Comprehended skills: Close combat (beginner).

**

"You can level up and even learn new skills! The Emperor is truly an Immortal, full of tricks. He's really made it into a game."

"But to be honest, after my level increased, I felt like my body was also strengthened."

After Daniel adjusted to his upgraded body, he stood up and walked to the Emperor's shrine at the edge of the strategic room.

There are burning braziers placed around the shrine.

"Praise be to the Emperor."

Daniel performed the imperial salute and prayed to the Emperor's statue.

A golden light hole appeared above the shrine.

A child-like figure with silver-white metal wings embedded in its back flew out of the light hole, clutching a package.

Thumb-thick neural cables were implanted in the skin of the Cherubim's pale torso and arms.

The emerald-like optical prosthetic eye is embedded in the brass eye socket, emitting a green light.

If this thing were thrown into a horror movie, it would scare 90% of the protagonists to death.

"Congratulations on completing your mission, the Chosen One."

The Cherubim's voice was mechanical and hoarse.

"Your reward has been issued. Praise the Emperor. He is pleased with your work."

The Cherubim placed the package in front of Daniel, then flapped its wings and flew into the circle of light.

Disappeared along with the aperture.

Daniel began to unpack the package.

Inside was a suit of bulletproof armor, an automatic pistol, and an engineer shovel.

Daniel took out the bulletproof armor.

The bulletproof armor has a suitable weight and feels like a cold metal to the touch.

I tapped it with my knuckles and the sound was dull.

**Name: Cadia Soldier Standard Bulletproof Shell Armor

Description: Made of multiple layers of ablative and impact-absorbing materials, it is strong enough to withstand most low-intensity attacks, such as ricochets, and the shockwaves generated by explosions at close range.

"On the battlefield, its effect is better than nothing."**

A light curtain appeared in Daniel's vision.

An introduction and instructions for using the reward items appeared inside.

After taking a closer look, Daniel put on the bulletproof armor.

A little loose, but it's fine with some adjustments.

**Name: Justicar Destroyer Automatic Pistol.

Description: A fully automatic pistol chambered for standard Imperial caliber pistol ammunition. A lightweight, versatile weapon with high accuracy on the move, suitable for dealing with groups of enemies.

"It's a little weak, but it's more than enough to blow your head off."

**

Daniel tried it out.

It feels heavy and has a nice feel.

Holding it in your hand gives you a sense of security.

There were two boxes of bullets next to the pistol, as thick as a thumb, and they looked powerful.

Daniel counted them and found a total of eighty-four shots.

Including the bullets in the magazine of the gun, there are a total of 126 rounds.

Put the gun and bullets away.

Daniel picked up the last reward.

**Name: c\Cadia standard multi-functional engineer shovel

Description: Made of 45-gauge plastic steel, it is lightweight and strong, allowing the user to quickly dig trenches and can also be used as a weapon when necessary.

"Congratulations on obtaining the artifact - the engineer shovel. Hurry, go and knock over that damn Chaos Can."**

"With these, we have some means of self-protection."

Daniel held the engineer shovel and waved it casually a few times.

It feels heavy and powerful.

Just hit him with a shovel and it's no problem to blow his head off.

~Boom!

Suddenly, a dull sound came from the explosion-proof door of the strategic room, which frightened Daniel.

He subconsciously drew his gun and pointed the muzzle at the explosion-proof door.

Afraid that those things outside would rush in.

On the first day Daniel arrived in this world, he personally experienced the horror of those things outside.

As for why Daniel came here, and why he posted game information in the Warhammer Group, allowing players to make reservations to enter the Warhammer universe, it is a long story.
