Chapter 2 - 2

"Then show me what you've got!"

Ter-Ror roared, clashing with Clark in the air.

Fists and feet flew, creating swirling air currents.

Kara also flew up, looking for an opportunity to intervene.

Ter-Ror's attacks were fast and fierce, each punch aiming to kill.

But Clark always managed to defuse his attacks one by one with the smallest movements and the most skillful use of force.

He even managed to redirect Ter-Ror's power elsewhere, preventing the aftermath of the battle from damaging the buildings below.

The entire rhythm of the battle was completely controlled by Clark.

"Clark, he's a battle maniac!"

Kara watched from the side, anxious.

"He doesn't care if he destroys this city!"

"I know!"

Clark shouted to Kara while parrying Ter-Ror's frenzied attacks.

"This guy is a stubborn blockhead, it's useless to reason with him!"

"He needs to calm down first!"

"Kara, restrain him from the front!"

"Okay!"

Kara received the command and immediately rushed forward.

Two scorching Heat Visions shot towards Ter-Ror.

Ter-Ror felt the threat and had no choice but to abandon his attack on Clark, turning to punch away Kara's Heat Vision.

"You too?"

He looked at Kara, a hint of displeasure in his eyes.

"Are you serious? You need two-on-one?"

In that split second of his distraction,

Clark's figure vanished from his original spot.

The next second, he appeared behind Ter-Ror.

Ter-Ror's battle instincts made him sense danger, but he had no time to turn around.

Clark extended his right hand, index and middle fingers together.

He touched Ter-Ror's back neck.

Ter-Ror's entire body stiffened.

The madness and fighting spirit in his burning eyes rapidly faded.

The light in his eyes dimmed, and he fell straight towards the ground.

Clark and Kara, one on each side, steadily caught him.

Kara muttered softly as she looked at the unconscious Ter-Ror.

"It's finally over..."

Clark held his troublesome 'family member', sighing, his face etched with exhaustion.

Not physical, but mental fatigue.

"Let's take him back to the DEO first."

Clark rubbed his throbbing temples.

DEO underground headquarters, the highest-level medical analysis room.

The atmosphere was as oppressive as a graveyard.

Ter-Ror was bare-chested, restrained on a specially made alloy bed.

Hundreds of wires connected to his muscular body.

These instruments were the pinnacle of human technology, specifically designed to analyze superhuman data.

But now they had all gone on strike.

All screens displayed only rows of red 'ERROR' and garbled code.

"Director, it's no use!"

A white-coated researcher ran into the observation room, sweating profusely, his voice trembling.

"His physiological structure... cannot be analyzed!"

"We detected Kryptonian genes, but... but they are completely different!"

"His cellular energy is not passively absorbed, but... actively, wildly self-replicating! Damn it, it's like he has a nuclear reactor constantly exploding inside his body!"

Behind the one-way glass, Kara and Clark stood together, their faces extremely grim.

"Also," the researcher's voice was tearful, "we shone simulated yellow sunlight on him, and his data showed no change at all."

"Then... we tried red solar spectrum..."

Clark's heart was in his throat.

Red solar radiation was the bane of all Kryptonians, capable of rendering them powerless.

"What was the result?" Kara pressed.

"...Still, no change at all."

The researcher swallowed, saying with difficulty: "He's like a black hole; no matter if the energy is good or bad, it has no effect on him."

Kara and Clark exchanged glances, both seeing the horror in each other's eyes.

A Kryptonian unaffected by sunlight?

This was beyond their comprehension.

"Director Hank has decided," Hank Henshaw, the director of the DEO.

A burly black man walked over, his face ashen, "to use the final solution."

He personally pressed a red button.

Inside the medical room, a robotic arm slowly extended, its lead-lined end opening.

A fist-sized piece of high-purity kryptonite, emitting a faint green glow, was brought before Ter-Ror.

Inside the observation room, everyone held their breath.

Kara instinctively took half a step back; even though her position was protected, there was still a physiological repulsion.

Clark also frowned, his face a little pale.

However.

Ter-Ror on the alloy bed merely tilted his head curiously.

He looked at the green stone.

"Hmm?"

He reached out his hand, before any of the researchers could react.

With a 'snap', he easily broke the alloy restraints on his wrists, which could bind an adult Tyrannosaurus Rex.

To the astonishment of everyone, he took the kryptonite into his hand.

The expected screams did not occur.

The weakness of losing power did not occur either.

Ter-Ror, as if picking up an ordinary glass marble, tossed the kryptonite, which could take Superman's life, between his fingers.

He even brought it to his nose and sniffed it.

He frowned, then held the kryptonite up to the light, admiring its color.

"This stone... is so ugly..."

"Bang!"

Inside the observation room, Clark's coffee cup slipped from his hand, falling to the ground and shattering.

The gentle and refined expression on his face completely vanished, replaced by unprecedented shock and bewilderment, his hand pressed directly against the glass.

Kara covered her mouth with her hand, her beautiful blue eyes filled with disbelief.

A... Kryptonian unafraid of kryptonite?!

This was more outrageous than seeing a pig fly!

"Boring."

Ter-Ror lost interest, casually tossing the kryptonite onto the bed with a crisp 'clang'.

He stood up, and the monitoring wires on his body all snapped with the slight flexing of his muscles.

"Rip—!"

He tore open the heavy alloy door of the medical room with his bare hands, like tearing a piece of waste paper, and strode out.

The DEO agents in the hallway instinctively raised their guns, but no one dared to fire.

Are you kidding? Bullets were useless, kryptonite was useless, what could they use to fight? Convert him with love?

Ter-Ror ignored the trembling subordinates and walked directly to the glass of the observation room.

His gaze penetrated the one-way glass, precisely locking onto Clark Kent inside.

"You are Kal-El?"

"Strictly speaking, you are my cousin."

His voice at this moment was unusually calm.

"I can feel it."

"Your strength is greater than hers." Ter-Ror tilted his head, pointing to Kara beside him.

Kara was startled by his gesture.

She suddenly felt that he wasn't looking at her strength, but... her figure?

This guy's gaze was too aggressive!

Ter-Ror's gaze returned to Clark, the fighting spirit in his eyes seemingly burning through the glass.

"Let's fight." Simple, direct, undeniable.

Clark forcibly suppressed the tumultuous waves in his heart and pushed the door open.

He tried to force a gentle smile and extended his hand.

"My name is Clark, it's a pleasure to meet you, family."

Ter-Ror glanced at his outstretched hand, then at his smiling face that read "I am kind and friendly," and frowned.

"Defeat me in a fair fight, then we can talk about shaking hands."

He withdrew his gaze, evaluating without ceremony: "Your rules are boring."

Clark's hand froze in mid-air, his smile also solidified.

He had spent his entire life learning how to integrate with humans, how to control his power, how to solve problems with kindness.

But this family member before him, his logic was so simple and crude that all of Clark's experience became useless.

This was like talking to a brick wall!

"Whoosh—!"

Just then, a piercing alarm suddenly blared throughout the entire DEO base!

Red warning lights flashed frantically.

"Alarm! Alarm!"

A technician shouted in panic: "Large-scale energy loss detected in the city power grid!"

"Target confirmed as A-level threat — Leifthel!"

"She's causing destruction in the city center!"

Kara's expression sharpened, and she immediately prepared to leave.

Clark's eyes became serious.

However, a figure was faster than them.

Ter-Ror blocked their way.

He used his unique energy perception to detect the violent and active electrical energy in the city center.

Though not strong, it seemed quite interesting.

He grinned, revealing a predatory smile that made both Clark and Kara uneasy.

"This one's mine."
