Chapter 156 - Chapter 156: The One Who Arrives as a God

The commotion Izumi caused in the outer district naturally couldn't escape the eyes of those inside the city.

A mirage-like sky city, shimmering beyond the boundary of the Monoliths, hung in the air like an impossible illusion.

The Seitenshi and her cabinet—watching through their surveillance feeds—immediately ordered the Security Bureau to investigate.

Thus, while Izumi was calmly transferring each of the Cursed Children into his personal small-world dimension, several helicopters cut through the air on an intercept course.

Izumi barely spared them a glance.

Once he had sent every Cursed Child except Senju Kayo into the small world, he floated higher, rising effortlessly into the sky.

Watching the helicopters approach… and watching the city wrapped within the Monolith barriers…

Izumi's lips curved into a cold, merciless smile.

"Ahh. Since you've all come… then stay."

Izumi never planned to show mercy to anyone else.

Before the helicopters even entered attack range, Izumi merely swept his hand through the air.

In that instant, Subspace Spears materialized out of thin air—dozens, then hundreds—lancing forward like thunderbolts.

BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.

The helicopters didn't even have the chance to scream.

They simply exploded midair, consumed by Izumi's casual strike.

Every pilot was reduced to drifting ash before realizing what had killed them.

The Seitenshi and her staff, watching through satellite footage, froze.

The Seitenshi stared blankly at the screens, her expression drained of color.

"Is… is that really a human?"

Her worldview began to collapse.

Her aide, Tendou Kikunojo, frowned deeply.

Who is he?

Does this have something to do with the dimensional rift?

As confusion and fear spiraled through the command room, Izumi's voice suddenly echoed across the entire city—clear, resonant, impossible to ignore.

"Ahem—"

"Hello, minna-san. Good afternoon."

The entire city looked up in shock.

The Seitenshi and her leaders stiffened, unable to comprehend what this monster planned to do next.

Izumi's voice continued, echoing through the streets like a divine proclamation.

"Let me introduce myself."

"I am Izumi, from another world."

"To the Cursed Children scattered throughout this city—come to me."

"I'm waiting in the outskirts. No one will bully you, no one will look down on you under my protection."

"Many of your friends are already here."

"Even if this world despises you… I don't."

As his final words fell, explosions shook the city.

Behind Izumi, enormous black holes tore open in the sky—portals to unknown voids.

A heartbeat later, terrifying energy cannons fired out from within them, all aimed at the Monoliths that humanity treated as their last line of defense.

BOOM!

A mushroom cloud blossomed within the city—bright, violent, despair-inducing.

The crowds stared, horrified, as the supposedly indestructible Monoliths shattered like fragile glass, breaking apart and dissolving into nothing.

And they finally saw him.

A lone figure suspended in the sky—cold, unfeeling.

Behind him, countless black holes churned like the wings of a demon king.

Izumi gazed upon his work without a hint of remorse.

Then his voice echoed once more:

"The path is open."

"Little ones… come to me."

The entire city erupted into chaos.

"A–aaahhh!! The Monoliths collapsed!!"

"Run! The Gastrea are coming!"

Just from the destruction of the Monoliths, the city collapsed into madness.

Even the Seitenshi, who had witnessed everything firsthand, was dumbstruck.

What the hell is this?

He blew up the Monoliths just because he felt like it!?

Even Avrora Florestina, watching from the rear, was speechless.

Senju Kayo's emotions were more complicated—part relief… part worry.

She never imagined Izumi would announce himself to the world in such an extreme fashion.

Izumi descended to the ground as casually as if he had just finished a morning walk.

He patted Kayo on the head.

"Not sure if this will work… but let's wait and see."

It was the simplest, crudest method.

Searching individually would be a pain.

Far easier to announce himself as their "kami" and let the Cursed Children come on their own.

In the alleyways and slums of the city, the Cursed Children who heard his voice—and who watched the Monoliths crumble—froze in disbelief.

Their lives had long been reduced to numb survival.

But now… for the first time, they felt something like hope.

One by one, they stood up.

Was it real?

Was someone truly here to save them?

Or was this another cruel lie?

The city was in chaos, but doubt still kept many from moving.

Some begged for blessings—

Others hesitated.

But some acted.

The children who had suffered the worst… did not hesitate at all.

They broke into a run, heading straight toward the outskirts.

Life had given them nothing.

There was nothing left to lose.

While civilians fled in terror, the Cursed Children marched toward the danger—toward Izumi.

Meanwhile, at the Seitenshi's command center, panic spread like wildfire.

Izumi's unexpected, outrageous actions had terrified everyone.

The politicians didn't care if he was from another world.

He destroyed their Monoliths—that was enough to declare him an enemy.

Even if the Seitenshi wanted to prevent conflict… to sit down and negotiate…

The terrified congressmen refused to listen.

They issued direct orders.

—Eliminate Izumi.

And in that moment, the Seitenshi finally realized just how powerless she truly was.

Her authority was nothing more than decoration.

When their own interests were threatened, their true faces showed themselves.

Police, military, Security Bureau units—armored vehicles, helicopters, fighter jets—all mobilized toward the outer district.

Izumi sat on a rock, Kayo nestled in his arms.

He watched the approaching army and laughed softly.

"Avrora," he said, "they're yours."

"I don't want to see a single one of them reach me."

"As for the police… bring me every little girl they have with them."

Avrora stepped forward with a pout.

"You're always ordering me around…"

"Heh. But fine."

"Avrora is the strongest, after all."

She snapped her fingers.

"Go, Golden Lion—annihilate them all."

The silly, adorable Primogenitor didn't enjoy being used as muscle… but after learning what this world had done, she held little sympathy for its humans.

If they wanted to attack Izumi, then she would simply erase them.

As the fighter jets roared toward them, Avrora raised her arm.

Her familiar materialized behind her—a massive golden beast radiating destructive power.

With a single command, she launched a devastating counterattack.
