Chapter 71 - Chapter 71: The One Who Comes for the Fourth Primogenitor

Kato Megumi stared blankly as Izumi cheerfully recounted what happened yesterday—

how he dug up Avrora from the garden of his own house.

"... So yeah, I just shoveled down a bit, and boom—there she was."

After listening to this bizarre tale from start to end, Megumi honestly had no idea what to say.

A vampire buried under his house?

What kind of script is this...?

She could only exhale helplessly.

More importantly—Izumi's talent for "picking up girls" was starting to scare her.

First, he found Asia on the street.

Then he "picked up" a magician from a banquet.

And now he dug up a vampire loli from his yard.

If he told anyone else about this luck, no one would believe him.

Izumi, looking quite proud of himself, added casually:

"And by the way, Avrora is the prototype of the Fourth Primogenitor."

"...Eh?"

"She'll eventually become the Fourth Primogenitor."

Megumi shot up from her seat.

"T–The Fourth Primogenitor?! You're not joking?!

That's a demon-king-class vampire!"

Izumi only chuckled, lifting a hand.

"No jokes. It's all the truth.

Just watch—things will get lively soon."

He said it with a faint smirk.

Yesterday's divination had already shown him what was coming.

The Flame-Light Banquet would begin soon.

Those people were already on their way.

Once they arrived, the city would be in turmoil again.

Izumi couldn't help clicking his tongue.

This city really is cursed with trouble...

Good thing this world didn't merge with the Nasuverse, or they might really end up hosting a Grail War right here on the island.

Perhaps the Nasuverse would merge one day… but that depended on both Alaya and Gaia allowing it.

Average people never noticed when worlds merged, but anyone above the "Transcender" level could sense everything clearly.

That was why there were frontlines.

Why there were invaders.

Worlds that fused naturally posed no threat—but the ones trying to seize a world's Origin were another story entirely.

Daily-life worlds, when integrated, barely changed.

But worlds of similar power levels could feel every detail of the merging process.

This was why, in ancient times, a great war erupted—

ending with the current world structure.

Back then, the Two Heavenly Dragons crashed into the battlefield, were ganged up on, defeated, and one of them was turned into a Sacred Gear.

After that, the world finally stabilized.

Everything, in a twisted way, made sense.

That was also why so many plots in this world had diverged wildly from their original versions.

For example—Grayfia didn't become some "sister-in-law big boss," but instead became the fifth of the Four Great Maou.

Izumi was honestly curious what the hell happened in history to cause that.

And the Fourth Primogenitor created by the Three Primogenitors to overthrow the old demon king rule…

Yeah. Everything was different.

After introducing Avrora and Le Fay properly to Megumi, Izumi slipped into the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

Avrora kept drooling while staring at Megumi's neck, but Megumi firmly refused her.

"Nope! No way! Being sucked by a vampire—just imagining it makes me cringe!

Also, I'm scared of pain!"

Le Fay immediately shot back:

"It doesn't hurt at all!

It actually feels reaaally good!"

Asia nodded intensely beside her.

"Umu! I can confirm! It feels… really good!"

And somehow, their conversation devolved from there.

In the kitchen, Izumi's mouth twitched uncontrollably.

Why… why are they casually discussing whether being bitten by a vampire feels good?

These girls get off-topic way too fast…

When Izumi finally brought breakfast out, Megumi was busy holding down Avrora's head to prevent her from lunging.

Le Fay was cheering Avrora on from the side like a sports trainer.

Seeing how quickly they all got along, Izumi couldn't help smiling.

"Alright, enough messing around. Breakfast is ready.

And after we're done, we'll have a guest."

Everyone paused.

Avrora immediately gave up on attacking Megumi and hurried to the table.

Izumi's cooking was more tempting than blood, so her priorities were obvious.

Le Fay, Asia, and even the ever-gentle Megumi took their seats.

Megumi tilted her head.

"A guest? Someone else is coming?

Is it Rias-senpai?"

Izumi shook his head.

"No. You'll see soon enough."

He placed a piece of grilled fish on his own plate.

"It'll be someone from the First Primogenitor's faction."

The air froze for a second.

"Eat first," Izumi continued. "By the time we finish, he'll be almost here."

Last night's divination had told him the exact time the "snake charmer" would arrive.

And Izumi knew they would definitely fight.

That man had come to take Avrora away—

and Izumi would absolutely not allow it.

Megumi decided not to pry further.

She trusted him.

She picked up her chopsticks and ate like she was in her second home—

Izumi had already told her to treat this place that way.

Avrora enjoyed the food immensely, though it didn't help her magical energy supply at all.

Yesterday she ate so much… only to burn through it immediately.

She had become a full-fledged glutton.

Izumi didn't mind.

She had already blended in with the family.

Though Le Fay suffered the most, since Avrora often sneaked bites out of her…

Asia suffered less; Avrora only took tiny sips.

Still, this wasn't a long-term solution.

He had to cure her compulsive blood craving somehow.

One way was to gather all twelve familiars—

then a single drop of Izumi's blood would keep her full for a very long time.

Another solution was waiting for the system to give him something useful…

But he didn't get his hopes up.

The system mostly gave power-ups or… utterly ridiculous items.

Condoms. Birth control. Lubricants.

Brands like Okamoto, Durex, Aoni…

Embarrassing as hell.

After breakfast, everyone gathered in the living room again.

Avrora asked about everything with sparkling eyes—

she was like a blank sheet of paper, waiting for Izumi to draw her future.

Izumi occasionally taught her basic common sense.

And then—

A heavy surge of mana shook the air above Izumi's house.

The kind of pressure that would terrify any normal human.

Izumi looked up and smiled.

"So… he finally arrived."

He checked the time.

Perfectly matching the divination.

This ability really is incredible.
