Freya was too exhausted to think much about his words, opting to just go ahead and take a bath. She normally showered for convenience, but after yesterday she definitely deserved a nice, long bath.
Besides, the tub inside the bathroom was massive and Freya wouldn't mind making use of it. She removed the coat she was wearing, placing it in the laundry basket in the corner before walking over to the bath to run the water.
As it was filling up, Freya searched through the cabinet under the sink and found some body wash which clearly belonged to Xavier. She looked for other options, but soon found she didn't have much of a choice.
It was that or stay stinky. She chose the former.
After finding what she could, Freya switched off the water and stripped off her nightgown. One look at the blue garment and it was straight to the trash. There was no saving it from the dirt marks, blood stains and tears.
Once inside the bath, Freya let out a massive sigh of relief along with her aching muscles. The hot water was exactly what she needed after everything. It almost made her want to take a nap in the tub.
But her need to be clean overwhelmed that.
Freya quickly scrubbed herself head to toe twice to get rid of her nightmare adventure outside the city. She landed up draining the bath and adding clean water with how murky it got from her washing up.
Her body was covered in scratches and bruises, making her wince at times as she cleaned herself up. She made a mental note to get them treated before she turned her attention to the next daunting task at hand - washing her hair. Thankfully, it was shoulder-length so there wasn't much to wash.
But it was still a nightmare to wash especially when she didn't have the right products. But she couldn't exactly walk around with blood stained hair. The thought alone made her skin crawl.
He just had to kill that guy like that…. Freya muttered to herself as she massaged the shampoo into her hair. Couldn't take his whole body instead of just the head.
Bang! Bang!
The sudden knocking on the door, if she could even call that loud banging knocking, had Freya flinching at the sound. Her eyes snapped to the bathroom door, wondering who it was.
Her question was answered when Xavier called out, "I brought towels and some clothes. Can I come in?"
"Sure." Freya murmured, sinking lower into the water to hide her body.
It was probably weird to let a strange man enter when she was naked, but considering he'd seen her in that torn up nightgown, there wasn't much he hadn't seen.
Of course, they were also going to get married as per that agreement. Not that they'd do normal couple things, but she wouldn't mind if he offered considering how he looked.
Freya felt her cheeks get hot at that last thought. Seemed this whole situation had driven her mad if she was thinking like that.
The doorknob turned and Xavier entered the bathroom, one hand holding a pile of clothes and a towel. His eyes were shut and his tongue flickered out for a second as he gingerly stepped inside.
"The clothes are some of my older ones. Don't have anything else." Xavier stated. "Hope that works."
"It's fine." Freya replied.
Ill-fitting clothes was always better than the other options. She wasn't exactly keen on putting her nightgown back on or was she happy to walk around naked. Xavier's clothes would work until she managed to get proper ones.
Freya watched as Xavier somehow managed to move to the sink and dropped everything onto the counter without injuring himself in the process.
He then turned to her general direction and said, "Food should be done soon. Just head downstairs and make a turn to your left. You'll find the kitchen there."
"Alright… thanks." Freya mumbled out.
And with that Xavier headed out and closed the door behind him, giving her a chance to finish washing up.

Once Xavier delivered the clothes and towels, he headed back downstairs to see how food was going. He'd ordered one of the few housekeeper androids within the house to prepare a quick lunch.
As he walked down the marble stairway, his hands moved to his inside coat pocket, pulling out a small box of cigarettes and a lighter.
He pulled out a cigarette and put it in between his lips before lighting it up, taking a deep drag. The action released the pent up stress within his body.
His mind was still trying to process the events from the last two days. Everything had completely been screwed up. Honestly, they were lucky Mason was in charge of security detail around the barrier today.
That bastard was probably the only one Xavier could give the slip. Even if it was only for a day. The military would be at his door if he didn't report to HQ tomorrow morning.
He'd been prepared to deal with all the questioning and paperwork crap, but when he saw Mason he decided to dip instead. Freya looked beyond exhausted and he didn't think she could handle several hours of nonsense.
Xavier knew he couldn't. They could deal with everything after a good night's rest.
Entering the kitchen, he found the housekeeper android bustling around, placing things all over the kitchen island in the center of the massive kitchen. All four stove tops were at work and a few cupboard doors were open.
"I thought I said a simple lunch." Xavier muttered as he gazed at the spread on the kitchen island.
The android glanced up, its screen-like face lighting up. "Master Xavier! Lunch is almost complete. Master Ethan will be joining and requested that I prepare something for him."
Of fucking course. Xavier gritted his teeth, almost biting his cigarette in half. Out of all days, he had to come back today. This is going to be a mess.
