Chapter 90 - Chapter 89 Word Games

On Holy Terra, Li Feng and the Nuns stood on a skybridge 100 stories above the Imperial Grand Plaza, looking down at Terra below. The Imperial Central Avenue was packed with pilgrims and civil servants from various planets.

Li Feng estimated that the plaza below alone was probably crowded with at least a million people... And it was said that many local civil servants coming to Terra for business usually measured efficiency in months, or even years.

According to Little Kitten, who was accompanying them, there were far fewer people now. After the Star Chain system became operational, Empress Sanguinius objectively improved administrative efficiency by 300%, allowing various Star Sectors and Star Chains to directly send documents and forms to Terra, eliminating the need to travel thousands of light-years by spaceship to Terra and then wait in line for several months just to submit this year's harvest reports.

At this moment, Fides was a bit curious, so she stopped Li Feng and asked:

"Why don't you contend with the High Lords? Your unit should have at least 100,000 personnel, but you only brought 30,000..."

Fides's expression clearly showed she was defending Li Feng. She had also been through thick and thin with Li Feng. Now, she couldn't accept her angel and the hero of frax being treated this way, especially since he was also a "friend of the emperor."

"Fides, if I really bickered with them, I wouldn't be able to do anything for the next few years. Don't worry, don't I still have you all?"

Li Feng only realized his mistake after saying this, as he had subconsciously uttered a player's line. However, this 2K tactic seemed a bit too powerful when used on 40K girls. (Love words are stronger the older they are!)

Immediately, Fides and several Nuns all blushed. Even Medical Sister Alia and Grand Sister Margaret were stunned, not expecting this young man to... Medical Sister Alia even walked behind Li Feng and whispered, "Although you're very cute, it's not impossible between us, it's just... I don't want to hurt Xiao Fei. You should be with Xiao Fei first before coming to me."

Meanwhile, Grand Sister Margaret also spoke in a wife-like tone: "Little friend Li Feng, auntie is very touched. If you ever feel lonely, you can always come to auntie to play~"

Everyone walked towards the Imperial Palace amidst their playful banter, but Li Feng's words had made Fides and some of the Nuns take him seriously.

Even worse, it was rumored that the Grand Nun of the Ecclesiarchy's Battle Sisters had assembled a mixed Battle Sisters guard regiment by drawing one Battle Sisters squad from each of the other five Orders, specifically to protect Li Feng's safety.

However, Li Feng refused this offer. He was genuinely afraid of losing control, and his little girlfriend was still here. Fides also had feelings for him, so he thought it best to be more restrained.

But Li Feng's refusal made these Nuns feel rejected by the "friend of the emperor," so they all resorted to "crying, making a fuss, and threatening to hang themselves," saying they needed to "atone for their sins."

Li Feng finally had no choice but to say that each Order should send their best Battle Sisters. So, they were currently discussing this internally.

Fides, however, felt insecure about this. She worried that Li Feng would be lured away by the Sisters from those other Orders.

For example, the law-abiding, kind-hearted good girls from the Order of the Argent Shroud, known for their selfless heroism and altruism.

Or perhaps, those aloof, beautiful older sisters from the Order of the Sacred Rose, known for their strict combat plans and lifestyles... Li Feng turned and headed towards the Imperial Cult's grand cathedral. The cathedral entrance was currently filled with worshippers from across the The Galaxy / Milky Way. When the Custodes and Battle Sisters appeared, these fanatical worshippers knelt down, offering prayers and blessings to these Soldiers of the Emperor and Daughters of the Emperor.

At the cathedral entrance, Li Feng had Little Kitten bring over a wooden box. Li Feng stood on the box and then took out a large megaphone:

"Everyone, I am the Commander of the Regimental Hero Brigade, personally designated by the Emperor of the Imperium of Man! We are about to go to Gravelax to resist xenos and Heretics! Who is willing to come with me?"

That's right, these people recruited could only be considered "paramilitary personnel" or "guerrillas." There was no need to worry about anyone imitating this move, because if Li Feng didn't have the Adeptus Mechanicus's help, recruiting these people would only mean giving everyone a wooden stick to go to war.

Li Feng's approach was a word game: if "air force" wasn't allowed, then form a "flying club." If "heavy machine guns" weren't allowed, then produce "general-purpose machine guns."

Mars was currently producing a "light lasgun" and a "MarsL PKM 8.25 mm squad machine gun" (yes, an 8.25 mm caliber modified PKM) designed by Li Feng's STC. Imperial Guard Soldiers typically used automatic rifles firing full-power rifle rounds, or lasguns powered by energy cells. Heavy firepower was entirely handled by lumber guns and heavy Bolter machine guns.

In the gap between individual equipment and heavy firepower, there was a lack of a general-purpose machine gun, a light machine gun that could follow the squad to provide suppressive fire.

It wasn't that heavy Bolters were bad, but heavy Bolters and lumber guns were too heavy. Both of these weapons required tripod support when operated by the Astra Militarum. Not all Astra Militarum were "Iron Hand Colonel" Straken, capable of charging with a heavy Bolter machine gun.

Hearing Li Feng's words, many worshippers looked over, but this was far from the effect Li Feng wanted. So, Li Feng poked Little Kitten with his elbow. Little Kitten sighed helplessly, then shouted:

"He is the 'friend of the emperor' personally certified by the Emperor!"

Instantly, the entire crowd at the Imperial Cult cathedral entrance erupted. Countless worshippers pushed and trampled each other, just to catch a glimpse of Li Feng's face. Many devotees even touched Li Feng's body... Fides and the Battle Sisters tried their best to protect Li Feng, while Li Feng smiled. Immediately, countless Ecclesiarchy priests rushed out from inside the cathedral, willing to follow Li Feng and join this "crusade"... Conscription? Weren't they already conscripted?

Li Feng set very high selection standards for these fanatics, as he wanted warriors, not cannon fodder. Moreover, this was a chance to make an appearance before the Tau Lord. If they ended up with a "Pyrrhic victory," wouldn't that be a failure to impress, exposing their weakness instead... At the Imperial Palace gate,

When Li Feng and his group returned to the Imperial Palace gate, the Nuns from several major Orders had already arrived, waiting for Li Feng's arrival.

Li Feng took a look and thought, "Goodness, a bunch of Misses..." Just standing near them, the mixed scent of firm sweat would occasionally waft into Li Feng's nose.

Upon seeing Li Feng arrive, the Nuns collectively knelt on one knee:

"friend of the emperor, we have received the edict of the Holy Emperor and yourself. Now we will obey your commands and arrangements, and serve at your side."

The first squad was from the Order of the Argent Shroud, led by High Sister Enshia. They looked more like noble young ladies than Battle Sisters, exuding elegance and confidence. (Image in paragraph comments)

The second was from the Order of the Ebony Chalice, led by High Sister Catherine. These were truly battle-hardened sisters; they carried various massive melee weapons, dual Chainswords or chain axes, and each also carried a huge plasma flamer. (Image in paragraph comments)

The third was from the Order of the Sacred Rose, led by High Sister Lucia. Fides and High Sister Lucia exchanged glances... Li Feng turned his head and asked, "Do you two know each other?"

Fides quietly said, "I once fought her... She stole my trophy kill. I was just about to cut off the daemon's head with my power sword, but she used her Bolter to blow its head off directly. Afterwards, she even mocked me, 'You need to use your brain in battle'..."

The fourth was from the Order of the Bloody Rose, led by High Sister Angela. They were truly violent women, each carrying a huge Bolter and Chainsword, solely to make their enemies bleed more.

The fifth was from the Order of the Valorous Heart, led by High Sister Marianne. A group of silent Misses who used thermal weapons and Warhammers, constantly feeling guilty about what happened during the Age of Apostasy (deep BDSM enthusiasts), always seeking to explore and improve their weaknesses, and keen on self-flagellation.

The Adepta Sororitas even arranged for Ancillary Nuns from the Ancillary Order for Li Feng. Ancillary Nuns had close ties to the Imperium's upper echelons, often serving as ladies-in-waiting, advisors, or executives for nobles.

They focused on the purity of the human spirit and genes, subtly manipulating the education, social circles, and family marriages of nobles to prevent corruption and inbreeding.

However, Li Feng felt something was off. Why were there more Ancillary Nuns assigned to him than Battle Sisters? Were they all there to help him wash clothes and cook?

Li Feng was going through the list, checking the Nuns and weaponry assigned to him by the Adepta Sororitas one by one. At this moment, an Ancillary Nun walked up to Fides and whispered:

"Lady Morwen, the Mother Superior, asks about your progress with him. The Mother Superior hopes to see your child born very soon, and then the Ecclesiarch himself will baptize your child."
