Chapter 52 - Chapter 51 Flax the Wrestling King!

Frax, a canyon somewhere on the surface...

The wreckage of a valkyrie transport lay here, its engine smoking...

The pilot's body was slumped over shattered glass...

But from the smoking cockpit, music still played...

(The Rolling Stones 'Start Me Up')

Inside the cockpit, several bodies were scattered haphazardly...

Li Feng lay in the cockpit, his waist on the seat, his spine completely dislocated, his cervical vertebrae twisted into an inhuman shape, both knees bent backward, and his lower leg bone broken into seven pieces...

Li Feng's eyes suddenly snapped open, his neck automatically twisted back into place.

He used his hands to push himself off the ground, detaching his broken lumbar spine from the seat.

With a crisp crack from his lumbar spine, his lower body regained sensation, his knees bent back into place, and his calves straightened again...

He propped up his body with its twisted spine and crawled to his feet, then stretched, another crisp crack sounding as his spine straightened.

Li Feng felt as if he had grown a little, at least 5 centimeters.

He looked at his surroundings, realizing he had just crashed; his aircraft had been shot down by a local's Stinger missile.

At this moment, he was the only survivor in the cockpit.

He looked at the bodies beside him...

It seemed he was the only one left.

He knelt beside each of his comrades, pulling their dog tags from their necks and hanging them around his own.

"What a genius, not even suppressing the enemy's anti-air fire.

Which idiot came up with this airborne mission...

If I really die, I'll probably meet the German paratroopers from Crete in heaven..."

(Calling out Antonov Airport, Aerospace Forces! Where were you! Aerospace Forces: Battlefield support has gone online)

Li Feng now slung his backpack on, put on his helmet, and, picking up the rifle beside him, walked to the cockpit door...

It wouldn't open, deformed by the crash...

Because of the confined space, Li Feng couldn't kick it, so he could only use his elbows, frantically elbowing the door...

As Li Feng's elbowing created a gap in the door, he stepped back a few paces, then charged and slammed heavily into the door.

"Peng!"

With a bang, Li Feng and the door fell to the ground together.

Li Feng looked at the sky outside and the sky full of anti-aircraft fire...

"Phew! Finally out!"

Li Feng then walked back into the cockpit to check the radio operator's radio.

The radio was deformed from the fall, with a crack sparking.

Well, the mission failed.

Without a radio, how was Li Feng supposed to communicate back and forth with the artillery positions by running...

Li Feng walked out of the aircraft, moved all the supplies and weapons from the cockpit outside, took the pilot's naval dog tags and put them in his pocket, then pulled out a small knife, punctured the valkyrie transport's auxiliary fuel tank, lit a cigarette, took a deep drag, inhaling deeply...

Li Feng flicked his fingers, and the burning cigarette landed on the opening of the fuel tank, instantly engulfing the aircraft in raging flames...

Why burn the aircraft?

Li Feng didn't want to see the bodies of these unlucky souls fall into the hands of a bunch of Chaos Cultists.

Black smoke billowed through the canyon, carrying a pungent smell that churned in the wind, silhouetting the broken valkyrie transport.

Li Feng stood at the edge of the flames, behind him the remains of the cockpit gradually consumed by tongues of fire, the sound of metal grinding and fuel igniting mingling in the air.

He looked at the scene before him, silent for a moment, this was war...

He glanced at the surrounding canyon, the rock walls on both sides long and steep, appearing incredibly treacherous.

In the sky, the intertwined sounds of Astra Militarum and Chaos anti-aircraft fire could still be faintly heard, but the battle here was temporarily quiet, as if he alone remained in this hellish scene.

"Operation Market Garden..." Li Feng repeated the codename softly, mockingly, his mind filled with the futility and endless ridicule of the airborne mission.

He could only say: Montgomery! You truly live up to your reputation!

Of the four victorious nations, three said he was incompetent yet loved to show off, and the last was his own country, Great Britain.

Shot down and crashed in such a desolate place, the only thing Li Feng could do was to quickly find the main force, trying to get close to the friendly forces' designated landing zone, if that landing zone still existed.

Li Feng took out his tactical cloak from his bag and put it on...

With his hood up and his supplies and weapons on his back...

He walked on this planet, which had long become gray and full of death, where some scarlet moss, mutated by corruption, grew on the ground.

The surface was desolate, like a wasteland torn and crushed by a merciless hand, the sky overcast, clouds hanging low, shells, heavy bullets, and aircraft flying in the sky, and the thick clouds seemed ready to pour down a black rain at any moment.

The ground was uneven, like scars washed by floods and scorched by toxic rain, with stones, broken architectural remains, and scattered bones piled in every corner.

The earth seemed to possess no trace of life, only dry cracks and broken vegetation stained with corrosive marks.

With each step, the mud underfoot felt corrosive, sand mixed with toxic liquid deposits, emitting a pungent chemical smell.

The distant horizon was faintly visible, with strange shadows seemingly moving in the blur, like afterimages swallowed by darkness, or perhaps an illusion caused by distorted vision.

The air was heavy, as if solidified, each breath carrying a suffocating oppressive feeling, as if the entire environment itself repelled the living.

Occasionally, strange marks could be seen on the ground, not human footprints, but traces like some invisible giant creature had gently passed, as if they silently roamed this post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Explosions in the sky, silence on the ground, and the solitude of one person enveloped this place, death like an invisible mist, quietly seeping into every crack.

Li Feng now felt like he was playing a real-life 'Death Stranding'.

The only thing he could do now was to head to the original landing point...

A few kilometers away...

Inside a bridge arch...

A river of blood flowed into the bridge arch, a broken symbol of the Chaos Eight-pointed Star and the Imperial Aquila floating on the river of blood...

Both symbols simultaneously touched the leg of a Tiffany blue power armour...

Then continued to flow into the abyss...

Five Space Marine in blue power armour emerged from the darkness, their power armour adorned with snake-like scales.

Their shoulder pads bore the symbol of a hydra...

"Twentieth Legion, Alpha Legion."

The leading Alpha Warrior removed his helmet, holding a Bolter in one hand, and raised a finger to his lips, signaling for silence...

He looked left and right, seemingly searching for something, then he sensed a tactical "delivery man" in the distance, wearing a cloak and carrying several rifles and supplies...

He smiled, then pointed his finger in that direction, and the other Alpha Warriors immediately walked in that direction, their combat armor immediately began to change shape and color, and the several 2-meter tall giants, with a flash of light in the tunnel, immediately transformed into ordinary Astra Militarum Soldiers...
