He didn't say anything for now. He just asked her to carefully take their storage rings while checking for any traps. He collected all their bodies together and took out the Corpse Disposing liquid and poured it on the bodies. Within minutes, the bodies decomposed, and all the Spiritual Qi returned to the Heaven & Earth, thus making it environment friendly.
This was the first time he had seen someone killing so many people at once and seeing the bodies decompose as if they never existed.
"Sigh," He looked towards Du Yue, who gave him all of her victory gains and spirit rings.
"Husband~ let's go," Du Yue said softly, her voice lilting with a shy sweetness, and she tugged gently at his sleeve.
Su Wen's eyes twitched, and he asked calmly, "Husband? Since when?"
Realizing her slip, Du Yue immediately panicked. "N-no! I mean… sorry! I-I was too focused on the character disguise because I got scared… I didn't mean it!" Her voice faltered, growing quieter and more flustered with each word, her tiny hands fidgeting nervously at her sides.
Su Wen looked at her strangely and thought to himself, 'How did she end up with "Husband" while disguising as Young Master K?!'
She buried her face slightly, muttering under her breath, "Why did I have to say that… why did I have to say that…" while internally berating herself for being so adorably reckless.
Su Wen interrupted her gently, his voice calm but firm. "Let's leave this area first. Next time… wait for my instructions before acting. I wanted to know if they were sent by someone, or if your identity had been compromised."
Du Yue kept her face down, cheeks warm with embarrassment. Then, without warning, he reached out and took her hand, leading her away from the area. There was a silence between them which was too quiet for her, punctuated only by the sound of their footsteps.
After a while, he reached over and lightly patted her on the head. "Thank you for worrying so much about me," he said softly. "From now on… I'll be in your care."
Du Yue's face immediately flushed bright red, suddenly the quietness she was feeling instantly became a brighter world. A thrill of happiness coursed through her, and she quickened her pace feeling embarrassed, almost running ahead, while Su Wen followed behind, shaking his head with a small, quiet sigh.
He couldn't reconcile the two images in front of him… the innocent, sweet girl with her shy smile and bright eyes… and the fierce, possessive Yandere who could obliterate anyone threatening him. The contrast left him both exasperated and quietly amused.
An old man looking like a con artist, who was sitting in a gambling bar in Yellow Town trying to trick people with his gambling skills, glanced in their direction. 'Soul Cultivation: Peak-Stage Instinct Realm, Body Cultivation: refining blood, and Spirit Cultivation: Peak-Stage Foundation Establishment, but far more stable and concentrated than before... Hmm, that brat is the reason why I can't see through her anymore...' the old man muttered to himself.
'I have been looking for her since the last two weeks, but today is the day I could finally find her. At my level, with a flick, I can see everything in the Eastern Continent, but I couldn't find them at all... Is that because of that strange mountain?'
'Apart from that… the girl is far too emotionally dependent on him', the old man thought, frowning slightly. 'That alone could have a huge impact on her cultivation. He has the power to push her to become strong… or to break her, to reduce her to a cripple once more.'
He leaned back, a faint smile tugging at his lips. 'But that brat… he's far too mature. The way he handled her just now… scolding her for her rash actions, yet thanking her for worrying about him… shows he notices and understands every little thing. He remains calm no matter what happens.'
His eyes twitched slightly as he murmured to himself, almost in amusement, 'Little girl… looks like you truly have found a good husband. Hahaha.'
Du Yue, as usual, with a red face hidden behind the cover, flew in front of him, too embarrassed to look or talk to him. Su Wen did not tease her, instead letting her calm down. After some time, she finally calmed down and asked him softly, back in Young Master K's tone, "Do you think my identity has been compromised?"
Su Wen looked at her with a playful, fawning smile. "Oh my! Young Master K, you're finally back, huh?"
Du Yue's cheeks flushed crimson, and she quickly turned her face away. "Y-You… Hmph," she mumbled, clearly embarrassed.
Su Wen's eyes crinkled with satisfaction. "Don't worry. As that man said, he only noticed me at the tower, which is why they came after us. And since we've already cleared the crime scene, we're safe. I'll make sure to be more careful next time, not to stand out so much."
Du Yue nodded firmly. "No, it's not your fault. I'll become stronger, so no one can ever threaten us again."
In her mind, a silent vow burned bright: 'I will be your sharp sword, defending you with all my strength. Anyone who dares to harm you will be sent straight to the underworld.'
Su Wen nodded, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small, sweet-looking candy. He handed it to her with a gentle smile. "Here, take this. It's a spirit candy, it helps keep your mind calm."
Du Yue accepted it quietly, her fingers brushing against his for a moment. She popped it into her mouth and chewed thoughtfully, then gave a small nod, just like a young master approving a fine treat. "Hmm," she murmured softly, the faint sweetness lingering on her lips.
Su Wen's lips curved into a quiet smile, watching her with amusement at her composed, yet adorably dignified reaction.
As they kept flying, they finally reached the Five River Village. But this time, they didn't stop there and continued flying toward the top. Suddenly, Du Yue thought of something and immediately headed toward the exit of the village onto the mountain road. 'Hell, I won't fly all the way home, otherwise, my date with my husband will be over!'
Su Wen noticed this and asked, "Young Master K, what happened?"
Du Yue hopped off the sword and collapsed dramatically onto the road, clutching her belly. "Little Su… my meridians hurt so much!" she exclaimed, her voice both pained and pleading. "Please… carry me home and take a look at them!"
Su Wen was stunned, looking at the 'Young Master' twirling on the road from one side to the other. He wanted to say no but couldn't bring himself to.
He placed his sword in the air next to her and used his Soul Sense and Spiritual Qi to pick her up, placing her on the sword with her back facing downwards this time. He then started walking, looking like he was carrying a sack on the sword.
Du Yue was speechless and felt cheated. She immediately started throwing a tantrum and pushed herself off the sword, falling to the ground. "You said if I can't walk, you will carry me!"
Su Wen looked at her, then looked at the sky and sighed, thinking to himself, 'What have I gotten myself into?'
He picked her up and carried her like a sack on his back, starting to walk with a blank face. For some reason, he felt very happy in his heart while carrying her on his back.
Although Xu Mei was his so-called girlfriend back in the academy, he never really felt that close to her. She would always be a hand's distance from him and would only hug him when she needed his help, and even then, she wouldn't let him hug her back.
He was always alone in his previous life and had no idea how couples behave and love each other. With Xu Mei, his relationship was completely dry. Sometimes he wondered if there was any difference between being alone or being with a lover, and why people said they would die for their love.
He only felt love from his grandparents and mother. Xu Mei was no different from just a friend; in fact, he felt closer to some of his friends in the academy than her. Because of Xu Mei, he never got close to any other girl in the academy. He never felt any love from her… only fake hugs and smiles and a waste of time.
But now, this innocent girl, who was on his back with her arms around his neck and her face resting on his right shoulder, was grinning behind her cover with a red face. She gave him a warmth that he never got from that academy waste of time.
