Chapter 53 - Chapter 53 — I Really Wish Lord Licht Would Hurry Up and Kill the Wizard King.

Yuuki gazed at the silver grimoire floating before him. Raising his arm, he lightly brushed his fingertips across the pages.

A faint silver glow rippled out instantly. All the spells inscribed within shifted position on the pages according to Yuuki's intent, rearranging themselves on their own.

Spells:

Fire Magic (Scorching Flames)Plant MagicWind Magic — Tower of StormsSpatial Magic — Spatial TransferSpatial Magic — Dimensional StorageChain Magic — Binding Iron Lock FormationBlank Page

Yuuki moved his pure magic spells to the top, shifting the technique-type spells toward the lower pages. As for the extra Fire Magic that occupied another page, he simply turned that page into a blank one.

He already had one Fire Magic. There was no need to waste a slot with a duplicate.

"Judging from my current mana reserves… I should be around the level of a Sixth domain mage."

Feeling the abundant mana coursing through his body, Yuuki recalled Yuno's mana output back during the entrance exam, and a glint passed through his eyes.

He still didn't quite measure up to Yuno, but he had definitely surpassed nobles like Meath—ordinary bluebloods without exceptional talent.

"My sensing range increased again. About eight meters this time."

Yuuki closed his eyes, letting his perception expand outward. At this moment, his detection field could envelop the entire dining hall, allowing him to feel the faint ripples of mana from within.

Five of those auras were very weak—Rebecca's three younger brothers and two younger sisters. The slightly stronger one, though still feeble in Yuuki's eyes, naturally belonged to Rebecca.

"At least this sensing ability is finally starting to feel useful."

Opening his eyes with a faint smile, Yuuki lowered his head and extended both hands.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Mana surged from his palms.

The mana from his left hand ignited into blazing flames, while the mana in his right condensed into a glowing sphere of vibrant green.

"Fire Magic and Plant Magic… I can cast them simultaneously?"

Watching the two different attributes switching fluidly between his hands with no resistance or strain, Yuuki felt a spark of genuine delight.

Rhya, one of the Third Eye, possessed Copy Magic—an ability capable of replicating another's spells with ease. But its drawback was clear: he could only use one attribute at a time, and could not overlap them the way the original caster could.

Yuuki, however, had no such limitation. If he wished, he could wield multiple attributes freely.

Rhya only overcame his weakness after fully reincarnating as an elf and regaining his true identity. Copy Magic was born defective.

A copy would always remain a copy.

Rhya could only replicate spells others already possessed; he could not create new ones.

Yuuki was different. His Replication Magic copied the opponent's magic origin itself, granting him the attribute directly—allowing him to develop spells independently.

As for the opponent's techniques?

If he'd copied their mana origin, recreating their techniques later wouldn't be difficult at all.

"The more I study it, the more I realize just how absurdly powerful Replication Magic really is…"

Lifting his grimoire into his hand, Yuuki murmured softly.

"Ha~"

Yawning, Yuuki tossed the Third Eye's white robe and black mask into his dimensional space, then flopped lazily onto his bed.

Adequate sleep was extremely important!

The next morning

Sunlight poured through the windows, brightening the room.

Click.

Yuuki pushed open the window, letting the cool breeze sweep inside. He glanced down at the wagons and merchant caravans occasionally rolling past the street below.

"This prosperity… won't last much longer."

He muttered lightly before withdrawing his gaze.

After washing up, Yuuki headed downstairs. Today, he planned to find a legitimate job—and now that he'd learned the location of the black market last night, he needed to take a trip there as well.

He couldn't spend the money he received from the Eye of the Midnight Sun openly. His official identity was still that of a boy from the borderlands, newly arrived in the capital for the entrance exam.

He'd only been here a few days — there was no reason for him to have much money on hand.

For now, no one had paid him any special attention. But as the Eye of the Midnight Sun slowly unfolded their operations in the royal capital, he would inevitably become part of it.

And the Magic Knights were nothing to underestimate. Any flaw exposed now could very well be noticed by them.

He had no intention of drawing too much attention before the Wizard King's fake death.

I really hope Lord Licht hurries up and kills the Wizard King already…

Yuuki truly, sincerely prayed for that outcome in his heart.

"Good morning, Yuuki," Rebecca's voice called from downstairs.

"Good morning, Rebecca."

Descending the stairs, Yuuki greeted her warmly. "Where are your brothers and sisters?"

Behind the bar counter, Rebecca was wiping down the countertop. Looking up, she smiled. "Luca and the others went to play at the church."

Yuuki nodded in understanding. He sat down at the dining table just as Rebecca approached with a fresh plate of breakfast.

"Enjoy."

Rebecca spoke to Yuuki in a soft voice.

The apron she usually wore was absent today — a rare sight.

"How much is it?"

Yuuki glanced at the steaming, surprisingly hearty breakfast and asked.

"You don't have a job yet, so you can put it on the tab for now. You're living here anyway."

Rebecca quickly waved her hands, her voice lowering shyly.

"Thank you."

Yuuki froze for a moment, a bit embarrassed.

He had actually considered working at this restaurant. But because of its old furnishings and limited menu, there were almost no customers.

Rebecca had five younger siblings to take care of. It was obvious she couldn't afford to hire staff — otherwise, she wouldn't have to go out at dawn every day just to buy ingredients herself.

"Are you heading out to look for work today?"

Rebecca suddenly asked.

"Yeah." Yuuki nodded.

"I heard the town's church is short on help. You're good at telling stories, and you get along well with children. I think you'd fit the job easily."

Rebecca offered the suggestion gently.

The church, huh?

Yuuki's eyes flickered.

He knew this town had a church, and one of the nuns there used to be a member of the Crimson Lion Kings.

And he still carried secrets — he couldn't afford to get involved with anyone who once belonged to the Magic Knights.

"Thank you. I'll think about it."

Yuuki kept his thoughts to himself and replied with an unchanged expression.

Rebecca nodded vigorously, looking genuinely happy.

Yuuki lowered his head and began eating breakfast.

But—

Halfway through the meal, Yuuki's spoon halted mid-air.

Within his sensing field, someone with mana far beyond that of a normal person was approaching the restaurant.
