Chapter Fifty-One – The Last Conversation

Lucien POV

{He's explaining everything from his POV in a rush}.

The battlefield roared around us, chaos feeding into chaos. Screams, snarls, and the thunder of claws against steel echoed through the clearing. An Oni barreled toward Hazel, its massive frame swinging a spiked club. My instincts roared.

"HAZEL!" I bellowed.

I surged forward, catching her just as the Oni's weapon smashed into the earth where she had been. Her body pressed against mine, heartbeat hammering into my chest. I could feel her trembling. Not from fear—her fire burned even in the chaos—but from the exhaustion of holding on.

I held her tight, feeling the pulse of her Red Wolf merging with my own. The heat, the power, the raw surge—it was perfect, intoxicating. I drew a deep breath, letting the energy of the Luna Queen and Golden Alpha merge inside me. Strength flowed like molten light through every limb.

The Oni staggered under the combined power of our aura, and I hurled it back into the fray. Hazel's eyes met mine, bright, fierce, and alive. I could see the laughter and tears mixed there, contagious and pure. Even in the carnage, she smiled. She fed Caleb's allies, trained alongside them, laughed with the pack.

I let her go just enough to step back—but I didn't lower my guard. The battlefield was still a storm of monsters, magic, and blood.

Then, I felt it—Helena. Her presence sliced through the chaos like a blade. Her aura twisted, dark, corrupt, reaching for control. Helene's power inside me flared instinctively, and I sensed my strength faltering under Helena's pull. My body tensed, resisting.

She enveloped me in a bubble, golden edges flickering as she pressed, trying to break my mind. Her whispers slithered inside my skull, promising power, domination, and fear. And for the first time, I felt the pull threaten to win.

Then I heard it. The light, the warmth, the unshakable presence I had relied on before: Helene.

She didn't enter Hazel this time. She chose me. Her energy flowed through me, an Elder Goddess in my veins, strengthening my body, mind, and aura. The corruption recoiled. My hands clenched, and I felt power beyond mortal limits course through me.

I broke free. The bubble shattered like glass under my will. Helena screamed, rage and disbelief mixing in her face. The battlefield seemed to pause, the air trembling at the sudden shift in power.

Hazel rushed to my side, relief and awe flooding her features. I grabbed her hand, grounding myself in her energy even as my body burned with Helene's power.

We moved as one, energy syncing, senses sharpening. I could feel the Red Wolf and Luna Queen merge at last, a force no god—or monster—could resist. I stepped forward, every motion precise, unstoppable. Helena's army faltered under our combined might.

Then, the main event. Helena herself.

Her eyes locked with mine. She snarled, a sound half-human, half-beast. I could see the woman she could have been—the one behind the monster. And I wanted her to see me too. I needed her to feel the weight of what she'd done.

I stepped closer. The battlefield faded around us. Helene's power held us steady, isolating us in a pocket of stillness. I reached out, brushing a lock of her hair from her face, letting my fingers linger.

"You could stop this," I said softly, voice carrying all the heat, frustration, and desire I'd buried. "It doesn't have to end like this. We could—"

She dragged me close and kissed me hard. I was dumbfounded and then shock, disgust and anger at myself surged forward, even a bit of desire? I drew back from the kiss fast and hard.

Her lips twitched, a mix of amusement and defiance.

"Why?" I demanded, leaning closer. "Why do you keep tearing everything apart? Why not stop?"

"Because i like chaos and right now, I'm in the mood to get back to it. The only reason why I haven't killed you yet is because you're my mate, and it'll weaken me and because..."

My wolf, kian interrupted so I zoned out ... "I know another way to change her mind, let me take over but you'll do the talking."

Kian never made trouble for me so I agreed. Immediately I did he dragged her and kissed her hard. I was yelling in my head for him to stop that we were betraying everyone.

"Just trust me Lucien."

She moaned as he kept on kissing her. He slid her pure white gown and moved it aside and slid a finger into her.

"Ahhhh," she exhaled.

The world outside ceased to exist. Even the echoes of monsters and battle were distant, muted by the force of Helene's aura and the tension between us. Her power tried to claw at me again, but with Helene inside me, I was untouchable. I could feel every tremor of her desire, every fleeting weakness.

He slip three more fingers and kept drilling into her, using my thumb to rub her clit she kept moaning and following my movements.

He held her face, my golden eyes locking with hers. "It could be different," I murmured. "It could be better. But not like this."

He sucked on her neck and increased my speed, she was a moaning mess squirming and grinding against me. She took my hand that was on her face and put it on her breast. He gave it a hard squeeze and removed it.

She hissed as her eyes flicked with both rage and something else—curiosity, fear, desire.

"I could make you stop," He said quietly, brushing another lock of hair from her face. "You don't have to keep this destruction alive. We could… be something else. Together. You and me. A life beyond this."

Her lips twitched into a smirk, but her eyes softened ever so slightly.

"Why should I?" she moaned as I pressed her nipple through her gown. "Mmmm.... ahh Why.... Ahh .. oh Lucien.... Ahh... Why... should I let go of the power I've built, the chaos I've caaarved?"

He leaned in, fingertips tracing the curve of her jaw, careful, grounding, tethering. "First my name is Kian not Lucien. That's what I want you screaming. Second because this isn't you. There's a part of you that wanted more than fear, Helena. I see it. I see her. And I can give her to you, even if the world doesn't deserve it."

She exhaled sharply, leaning into his touch, and for a moment, the golden light between them flickered and pulsed.

Kian kept teasing her, touching, kissing, sucking while she kept moaning. Each time she was close he withdrew his fingers. She was begging for a release.

He pressed closer, voice low, insistent. "Tell me… why all this? Why can't you just stop?"

Her gaze fell, shadowed by a flicker of regret and want. "Because I can't… I can't give up everything I've built. Not yet."

He brushed his thumb over her cheek, leaning even closer. "I could make it worth it. Everything else doesn't matter. You and me, Helena. Just us."

He dug four fingers in without warning. Sne moaned and arched her back.

"You could have had it all," he murmured, voice rough with need and frustration. "We could've had something real. And instead…"

Her eyes darkened again, but the tension crackled. "Instead, you came here, expecting me to be a less of a monster I can't stop being?"

He shook his head, pressing a forehead to hers, eyes locking. "I came here to show you there's a choice. Even now. Even with all this chaos. Even with everything you've done."

"I… I don't know if I can," she breathed deeply as she was close to climax again.

"Then let me show you," he whispered, fingers tracing paths only she feels, letting the energy between them roar. "Let me guide you. We don't have to destroy each other… not yet."

She shivered under his touch, torn between fight and surrender. The stillness of the pocket made every word, every glance, every heated touch feel like the only thing in the universe.

He pulled back slightly, voice husky. "I'm here. Right now. You don't have to choose yet—but feel it. Feel that it's possible. And when you're ready…"

Helena's gaze softened, and for the first time, he saw the shadow of the woman she could be. A woman he wanted beyond the battlefield, beyond the chaos.

See, I told you I could do it. Kian said smug.

"I can't change Lucien or Kian, but I'll spare your friends. I need to finish what I started."
