Chapter 64 - 64

The three champions all turned towards the door of the chamber when they heard it open, they were expecting the heads of their schools and the other two judges, what they were not expecting was for Harry Potter to walk in with his snake on his shoulders and Angela walking right behind him.

"Harry?" Krum looked at him with a questioning look.

"Do they want us to come back into the hall?" Fleur asked, her voice had a very noticeable French accent.

"Not quite." Harry sighed.

"Harry's name was entered into the goblet of fire," Angela spoke up. "once you three had entered this chamber another parchment had shot up and it had his name on it."

"What?!" Cedric blurted out. "You entered the tournament? But you're a fourth year!"

"I didn't enter my name into the goblet, somebody else did." Harry replied.

"It's true," Angela spoke next. "Harry even swore a magical oath in front of everyone in the hall to show that he hadn't."

"You swore a magical oath?" Fleur blinked as she and the other champions looked at him with shock and disbelief.

"I don't believe in wasting time." Harry shrugged just before Dumbledore and the other tournament judges entered along with Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape, the last person to come in was Professor Moody.

"What are we going to do, Dumbledore?" Karkaroff asked as they stopped in front of Harry and the other champions. "This boy had cheated his way in and..."

"Cheated his way in?" Fudge interrupted as he looked at Karkaroff with disbelief. "The boy made a magical oath in front of everyone!"

"Yes, that was without doubt a true magical oath," Dumbledore said before he turned to Harry. "and Mr Potter I would prefer if you don't make more in the future unless absolutely necessary, oaths are not simple things and can just as easily go wrong with the slightest bit of wrong wording."

"I know sir," Harry nodded. "but I figured it was the quickest and easiest way of proving my innocence. Rest assured it's not something I plan to do every time I get into trouble."

"Thank goodness." Professor McGonagall said under her breath.

"If Hogwarts will be allowed to have two champions then so should our schools." Karkaroff argued.

"It's too late," Moody replied. "the goblet has already gone out. You'd have to wait until the next tournament."

"If the boy did not put his name in then why was he entered into the tournament?" Madam Maxime demanded to know.

"The goblet of fire is a powerful magical object," Professor Moody barked out as his magical eye looked all around the room. "it would take a powerful witch or wizard to mess with it, a compulsion charm could do. I don't know who entered Potter's name but I know it was definitely not Potter. Dumbledore had tasked me with watching the goblet overnight and Potter didn't come near it at all."

"That does not fix the problem of Potter still having to compete in this tournament." Professor Snape spoke up before his gaze shifted to Angela. "And what are you doing here? Get back to the hall." He barked.

"You know my relationship with him," Angela replied, not intimidated in the slightest. "therefore you know I have the right to be here." She said before turning to Professor Dumbledore. "Is there any way for Harry to get out of this tournament?"

"He can't," Ludo Bagman spoke up. "if his name is selected by the goblet then he must compete. It says so in the rule book."

"Just wait a darn minute." Fudge huffed before pulling out the tournament rule book. A minute later he looked up from the book. "Ludo is right, Mr Potter must compete or risk losing his magic."

"What?!" Harry blurted out before he snatched the book out of Fudge's hands and began reading. "Fuck!" Harry yelled out by the end of the page.

"Mr Potter, language." Professor McGonagall admonished.

"Fuck language and its motherfucking whore of a mother!" Harry snapped at her before turning back to the tournament judges who were all looking at him with wide eyes. "Which stupid fucking idiot had the fucking stupid idea to fucking bring and use the stupid fucking magical fucking goblet of magic stealing fucking fire for a fucking school tournament?!" Harry demanded as his green eyes narrowed.

The judges and everyone else in the room could feel the magical power pouring out of Harry, if he's face and words weren't enough to let them know that he was pissed off then his magic was doing the job. Jet was on his shoulders and hissing loudly and threateningly at the judges.

"It...it was Ludo's." Fudge squeaked out as he moved behind Dumbledore.

"Really?" Harry said in a low voice as his gaze shifted to Bagman, Harry's hair started getting pushed up by wind and his eyes looked like emerald fire. Which was probably why Bagman looked like he was going to piss himself.

"It...it was tradition." Ludo weakly said as he took a step back, he looked like he was ready to bolt from the room. "The goblet's always been used in the t...tournament...it's tradition and..."

"So it's because of tradition that I could lose my magic?! One of the most important things in my life! Part of my identity! Part of who I am! And I'm going to lose it because of fucking tradition?!" Harry demanded as he threw the book down on the ground, wind building up around him.

"Harry, Harry," Angela whispered in a soft voice as she grabbed his wrist. "Calm down, please calm down. I understand that you're angry, but control yourself. You're a Slytherin, don't let your anger control you."

Harry growled before he took a deep breath as he closed his eyes, a few seconds later the wind and the magic in the room died down. The judges and Professor's looked relieved while the three champions looked worried, they felt Harry's magic and realised that that is what they have to compete with.

"You can expect to hear from my lawyer, Bagman." Harry told the man who was shaking in his boots. Harry turned to Professor Dumbledore. "Professor, is it possible for you to write a letter to my family that explains the situation. I don't really think either of us want the Tonks's, Sirius and Lord Black to storm into the castle."

"Yes," Dumbledore nodded, he most definitely did not want that. "I will do so when I return to my office."

"And when you send it can you please send this with it?" Harry asked before he handed Dumbledore a note that he had pulled out.

"This just says 'It's not my fault' and is signed with your name." Dumbledore pointed out.

"I know, I've been keeping it in my pocket all year in case I needed it." Harry shrugged.

"...okay." Dumbledore nodded before he began speaking to all of the champions. "For now it seems like Mr Potter will be competing, we will look through the rules to see if there is any way to get him out of this, but until then he is a Tri-Wizard champion. The first task will be a test of your daring, your bravery and your ability to think on the spot. Which is why the first task will be a surprise, you will not receive any help from any professors. The task will take place on November the twenty-fourth, you will all receive your instructions an hour before the task. Good luck, champions."

"Um...just a sec, Professor." Harry spoke. "Who would I be representing?" Harry asked, his Slytherin brain returning back to full strength once he was able to put his anger in the back seat.

"You're a Hogwarts student, Potter." Professor Snape sneered. "Can't believe you forgot that."

"I have not forgot, Professor." Harry said with a roll of his eyes. "But you surely haven't missed the fact that there are two Hogwarts champions. It would not be fair to have two champions for one school and only one champion for the other schools." Harry said, the two heads of the foreign schools were still not happy about Harry being in the tournament but they did agree with that last part.

"The boy is right," Madam Maxime agreed. "it's hardly fair for Hogwarts to have two champions."

"Agreed." Karkaroff nodded.

"Then what do you suggest?" Professor McGonagall asked.

"How about I represent my family house instead?" Harry suggested. "We're already breaking tradition by having four champions, why not break one more part of the Tri-Wizard tradition and have a family represented instead of a school? Think about it : 'Hogwarts, Durmstrang, Beauxbaton and House Potter-Black'. I personally like it."

"You would." Snape said under his breath.

"Now, Mr Potter, perhaps you could represent the Ministry in..."

"Hell no," Harry cut Fudge off before he could finish, Harry turned to Dumbledore. "how about it?" He asked.

"Hmm, if that would happen then we would need a judge for your house." Dumbledore frowned as he took the rule book and began reading through it to see if there was a rule against it.

"But then his judge would vote in his favour!" Madam Maxime protested.

"It could be argued that you would do the same for your school." Angela replied.

"She's right, and if everyone did that then winner would definitely be British seeing as there are three British people voting." Harry pointed out. "Before the first task perhaps you all could take magical vows or sign magical contracts to make sure that you all judge fairly." Harry suggested.

"A good idea, Mr Potter." Dumbledore smiled at him before returning his attention back to the book. "I will double check later once I have time to read the book in full but I'm fairly sure that we can allow Mr Potter to compete separately from Hogwarts."

"Great, I think I'll have Lord Black be my representative." Harry smirked at Ludo, all those who didn't know who Lord Black was were a bit confused by the look that Harry was giving Ludo, while all those who did were looking at Ludo as if he was a dead man walking.

Later when Harry was walking out of the side chamber with the other champions, he stopped at the front of the hall, everyone looked towards him.

"Hey guys, just need to say a quick few things." Harry spoke, everyone was looking towards him and giving him their full attention. "Firstly I've just found out that if I don't compete then it's possible I will lose my magic," Harry said, many openly gasped at that but Harry quickly continued before anyone could interrupt. "now obviously I don't want that so I'm going to compete. But I'm not going to be representing Hogwarts, Cedric Diggory was and is the rightful champion of Hogwarts. I will be representing myself and my family...which in a way is sort of representing Hogwarts when you think about it but that's not important. Anyway, long story short, I've not entered myself but I am competing and please support Mr Diggory and the other two champions, thank you." Harry said before he and Angela walked towards their seats, walking past three stunned champions.

"Harry," Daphne spoke when they were walking back to the common room. "can I talk to you in private, please?" She asked.

"Sure, Daph." Harry nodded before he turned to the others. "you guys go on, me and Daph will catch up." Harry said before he and Daphne walked off towards an abandoned classroom. Once they were inside Harry quickly put up some privacy spells. "What's up?" Harry asked once he was done. The second he had said that Daphne lunged forward and pulled him into a hug, her arms wrapped around his torso as she hugged him tightly while being careful to not hurt Jet who was still on Harry's shoulders.

"I'm...I'm really sorry that you're in this tournament." Daphne whispered.

"Thanks Daph." Harry smiled as he hugged her back. "I mean I like the idea of competing but no way in hell would I have done so if I knew my magic was at risk."

"It's not just that, Harry." Daphne said as she let go and looked at him. "You could die in any of those tasks."

"There are many times in my life where I could have died. I was too stubborn to die when I was twelve years old and poisoned by a basilisk in Salazar Slytherin's chamber of secrets, and I've only got more stubborn since." Harry told her with a smile, "Hey," he said in a soft voice as he wiped a tear off her face. "I will survive this."

"You had better," Daphne glared at him for a second before she shook her head. "Harry, when you were gone Tracey and I heard Parkinson whispering things into Draco's ear, stuff like how you were trying to 'upstage' him and so on."

"Hmm, thanks for letting me know." Harry frowned briefly. "I'll deal with that, I know how Draco works, thank you."

"You're welcome, just please be careful in this tournament." Daphne begged. "I want you to win but I really want you to survive it."

"I will, I promise." Harry told her. "I'd swear on my magic but that would be kind of redundant."

"Draco," Harry said as he and Daphne came into the common room, Harry sat next to Draco and placed a hand on his shoulder. "I want to thank you." Harry said.

"T...thank me?" Draco blinked.

"Yes, you see Draco I am related to the Black family through my grandmother and godfather and my adopted family, you're related to the Blacks because of your mother. Do you know what that means?" Harry asked him.

"Um...no." Draco admitted.

"It means that we are family," Harry smiled at him. "it means that - unless you try to kill me - we're on the same side. And you know what I think about you, Draco? You're like the Malfoys of old."

"W...what? Really?" Draco blushed.

"Of course," Harry said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "look at you, you're rich, handsome, strong, smart and loyal enough to never betray me. An ally I would gladly call my friend."

"Oh...t...thank you." Draco smiled, his chest puffing out slightly.

"You're welcome, I'm sorry that you weren't entered into the tournament but perhaps you can help me prove to Weasley and his kittens why the snakes are the superior animals." Harry grinned.

"Gladly." Draco grinned back.

"Excellent." Harry smiled, "The same goes for the rest of you." Harry said, the others smiled at him, though Parkinson's was a bit forced. Harry figured that sooner or later he might have to do something about her but that was a problem for another time.

"What the fuck, boy?" Arcturus asked as he, Sirius and the Tonks family were sat in a room with Harry. The group had come straight over once they found out that Harry had been entered into the tournament and had just finished listening to Harry explain what had just happened.

"That's not how I would have put it but yes, what the hell?" Ted asked.

"It was not my fault." Harry replied.

"Yes, we got that from your note." Tonks rolled her eyes. "But what the fuck?" She said, at this point Andromeda didn't even bother trying to correct her language.

"I don't know, like I said, all I know is that I didn't enter the tournament and then my name somehow came out." Harry sighed. "After that I was just working on damage control, I swore the oath to prove I didn't do it. Then we went into the side chamber."

"Where you were nearly about to murder Ludo Bagman." Sirius commented.

"He was very lucky that Angela was there." Harry growled. "But long story short I have to compete and I'm representing the house of Potter and Black. Lord Black, I'd love it if you'd be my representative and tournament judge."

"Why me?" Arcturus asked, raising an eyebrow.

"For a few reasons, one is because you're respected and not someone who people mess with."

"True." Arcturus nodded.

"Secondly because I trust you to make sure that there is no funny business going on with the judges. It's not like Fudge is going to be brave enough to try anything if you're there."

"True." Arcturus agreed.

"But the main reason is because I really want you to scare and torment the shit out of Bagman for risking your heir's magic for a fucking school tournament when he could have just drew names out of a hat, had competitions or chosen any of the hundreds of other simpler, smarter and safer ways to choose a champion." Harry admitted.

"Fair enough, I'm in." Arcturus grunted. He was about to say more when Jet began hissing. "What's the snake saying?" He asked.

"Oh, he wants to know if he can have Bagman's body once you're done with him." Harry answered.

A.N:Hi guys, hope you like the chapter. The next chapter will involve the start of first task of the tournament. I've read quite a few fics where Harry keeps in the tournament and have actually written different versions of Harry trying different things in my past stories such as speaking parsletongue to calm a dragon or killing the dragon and so on. In this first task I want to try something that I am 90% sure hasn't been done by any other fic, though I could be wrong. Still, I hope you all will enjoy it.

Thanks for reading and feel free to leave a review.
