Chapter 50 - 50

Once Harry had left the Weasley males were in a state of deep thought. Percy, for example, was wondering what Potter's problem with him was, all Percy had ever done was follow the rules like everybody else should, just yesterday he confiscated a forbidden joke item and gave the offender detention like any good head boy should. The rules were all there for a reason, if only he could convince his brothers of that fact, everything would be a lot easier for him if he could.

The twins on the other hand had a slightly different thought process, firstly it annoyed them to no end that Harry Potter, the boy-who-should-have-just-been-a-bloody-Gryffindor, was related to at least one of their heroes. But which one was it? Padfoot? Prongs? Moony? Wormtail? Well, he was a little worm so maybe Wormtail. Harry Potter had also called them bullies and thieves, that was not true! Okay, so maybe they stole from Filch but that was Filch, nobody liked him.

The twins were sure that if it wasn't for the free food then even his cat, Mrs Norris, wouldn't like him. And they did not agree with the comment about them being bullies, they didn't bully anyone! Sure they pranked a lot, some more than others (cough, Slytherin's, cough), but they were not bullies.

Arthur Weasley was going through something much different than his son's, never in his life had he been so embarrassed and ashamed of his family. There was just far too much for him to process, Harry had so many things that Arthur couldn't ignore like the comment about Molly's howlers or the fact that two of his sons were thieves. He had always tried to do his best to be a decent, hard working man, a good member of society, why the hell weren't his kids doing the same?!

"Professor's," Arthur said in a quiet voice as he looked at Professor Dumbledore, Professor Snape and Professor McGonagall. "I apologize but can I please have a few minutes alone? I need some time to think."

"Of course, Arthur." Professor Dumbledore nodded before he waved his wand and created a couple of notes. "These will explain to any teacher why your sons were late for their lessons." Dumbledore said as he handed them to Arthur.

"Thank you." Arthur nodded as he accepted the note, the Professor's nodded before they left the room.

"Father," Percy began. "I am not sure what Potter had said to you before we arrived but..."

"Ah," Arthur cut his son off, raising a hand to stop him from speaking. "just...just all of you be quiet for a few minutes, I need to think." He sighed as he walked over and dropped down into the nearest chair.

"Mr Potter," Professor Flitwick frowned when Harry entered the class late, Harry was never late for his classes. "are you okay? You are late." He pointed out.

"I'm sorry sir," Harry said apologetically as he rushed over and handed Professor Flitwick a note. "I would have come sooner but I was busy threatening to declare a blood feud." Harry shrugged, acting like it was something that he did every other day when he got bored.

"A...A blood feud?!" Professor Flitwick squeaked as the class began whispering amongst themselves and sending shocked looks at Harry.

"Yes, it was a close thing." Harry nodded before he went to his seat and sat in-between a gaping Daphne and Tracey. "So, what did I miss?" Harry asked the pair.

"We...we were just revising the levitation charm," Tracey said before she shook her head. "what is this about blood feuds?!" She hissed.

"I'll tell you later." Harry said just as Professor Flitwick was finally able to get over his shock.

"Right," He said after a small cough. "now class, we will be working on the freezing spell. Can anyone tell me about it?" He asked, several hands were raised into the air. "Hmm, Miss Granger." Flitwick said as he pointed to Hermione.

"The Freezing Spell was a charm that froze a target with icy-cold air created from the tip of the wand. This, in turn, could freeze water and extinguish fires. This charm had the unfortunate side-effect of making the breath of anyone nearby turn into thick white mist due to the extreme frigidity caused by the spell's casting." Hermione recited.

"Excellent, five points to Gryffindor, the incantation for the spell is what?" Professor Flitwick asked. Several students raised their hands, including Hermione. "Ah, Mr Potter." Professor Flitwick gestured to Harry.

"The incantation is 'Glacius' sir." Harry answered. "Pronounced as 'GLAY-see-us'."

"Thank you, Mr Potter." Professor Flitwick nodded to him. "Two points to Slytherin. Now, watch me as I do the wand movements, after that I am going to put a small bowl of water in front of all of you, I want you all to try and freeze it." Professor Flitwick said before he showed everyone the wand movements, after several repeats of this he had placed small bowls of water in front of everyone and had everyone work on the spell.

Shortly after the class finished Harry was walking down the hallways along with Daphne and Tracey.

"Daph, did you notice that you got the spell before me today?" Harry pointed out as the trio entered an abandoned classroom. The three had decided to start practicing some of their spells since they had a free period.

"Oh, that's right, she did." Tracey did said as realization hit her while Harry began casting privacy spells around the classroom.

"I...I don't really know what to say...sorry I guess." Daphne said in a quiet voice.

"Daph," Harry rolled his eyes, "don't apologize. I am complimenting you, you did good today."

"Oh, thank you." Daphne said, blushing slightly. "I just found the spell really easy."

"Hmm, might just be because some people are better suited to certain spells." Harry hummed thoughtfully. "I mean look at me, I find the wind based spells to be very easy."

"You find everything easy." Tracey said, rolling her eyes.

"Not true," Harry snorted. "I struggle with spells just like everyone else, just got to keep practicing."

"So, Harry, before we start practicing, do you mind explaining about how you nearly got into a blood feud?" Daphne asked, raising an eyebrow. Her voice and face made it clear that she was much more demanding than asking for an explanation.

"Alright," Harry sighed. "so it started with Weasley acting like a complete and utter tosspot."

"Naturally." Tracey nodded before she gestured him to continue.

Meanwhile Ron had woken up, everything that had happened had been quickly explained to him, apart from one thing which Mr Weasley was now telling him about.

"Harry Potter had also said that the next time you bother him he will declare a blood feud on house Weasley." Arthur said in a somber voice. Blood feuds were serious business, if two families were officially in a blood feud then that meant they were legally allowed to do whatever it took to kill each other as long as they didn't breach the statue of secrecy or unnecessarily break the law. Harry Potter could have quite legally burst through the doors of the burrows and murdered everyone before leaving if the blood feud had gone into effect.

"A blood feud?!" Ron squeaked out in shock, his dropped jaw showed how stunned he was. Though that changed a second later as he shook his head and smiled. "Let him then, there's only one of him, and he's only my age. We'd beat him easily."

"You stupid fool!" Arthur shouted at him, shocking into silence. Arthur was rather glad that he had the forethought to put up privacy spells around them so any people walking past the hospital wing wouldn't hear him. The other Weasley children nearly jumped out of their skin with fright, seeing their mother shout all the time was something they got used to, their father had never raised his voice unless it was to call someone who was a small distance away. "Do you...really? No, no, really?! Really?!"

"W...what did I do?" Ron asked in a quiet voice.

"There is only one of him?! 'He's only my age'?! Are you out of your damn mind?!" Arthur demanded, his face turning nearly as red as his hair. "First of all, Harry Potter on his own is a great wizard! I've heard people in the education departments talking about how he could end up being the next Albus Dumbledore at the rate he is going, and if that's not enough then this is the boy who slayed a basilisk at the age of twelve! A basilisk! You know how many wizards just one young basilisk can kill?!" Arthur demanded, his kids had known that a basilisk was killed by Harry in order to save their sister, the only thing they didn't know was how involved Roman was, as far as they were aware he wasn't involved in the incident at all. Arthur had told Harry that they would keep it a secret and he was a man of his word. "He also drove away a dementor with a patronus charm, do you know how advanced that is?! Even Newt level students struggle to do that! I know some aurors that can't do that! And it is NOT just him!"

"Father, w...what do you mean?!" Percy asked.

"Your mother should have bloody well taught you this," Arthur sighed as he made a mental note to have a very long conversation with his wife. "first of all, it won't be JUST Harry Potter who would be against us, it would be all of his allies. And we don't know how many of them he has! He could easily gain a lot, a lot of families hate us and would provide him support just to get rid of us, something that apparently hasn't been helped by all of your behavior around the school! Plus there are all of the friends he has already made in his limited time in this world along with all those who would side with him because he is the boy-who-lived. And it's not just human allies either! If Potter went to the goblins and informed them of a blood feud between our two families then they'd side with him instantly."

"What?! Why?!" The twins asked.

"Because if the goblins had to choose between a wealthy client like Harry Potter or a poor family like us then they'd choose him over us in a heartbeat. Your oldest brother works in Gringotts, what do you think would happen if they learnt that one of their employees happened to be part of a blood feud with one of their wealthiest clients?!" Arthur paused, he looked at each of his sons and made sure they were paying attention. "Things are going to change and they are going to change now." Arthur declared. "First of all, what is this about you all neglecting your sister?"

"We...she's a Slytherin..." Ron protested.

"She's your sister!" Arthur shouted at him, causing him to shrink, looking as if he wanted nothing more than to escape this conversation. "What does it matter if she's a Slytherin? Are you all so stupid that you'd believe that all Slytherin's are evil? Alastor Moody was a Slytherin for Merlin's sake! It hadn't occurred to you that if it was just a house for evil people then somebody would have gotten rid of it by now? You four will do your best to repair your relationship with your sister, no 'ifs', 'ands' or 'buts'.

"But I..."

"No 'buts'!" Arthur snapped, silencing Ron. "I am going to go home and have a long -a very long - discussion with your mother. But you, Ronald, you had better listen to me. As head of this family I am giving you an order and you will obey it. From now on you will do your best, your absolute best, to not bother Harry Potter anymore. You will not shove him when you walk past him, you will not tell everyone bad things about him such as 'he is a dark lord', you will not try to attack him verbally or physically which is something you never should have done in the first place! Let me make this perfectly clear, Ronald Bilius Weasley, if you don't sort out your act and if you don't stop bothering Harry Potter and his friends then you will be a Weasley no longer." Arthur said, the other brothers were stunned and were looking at their father like he was a wild dragon, while Ron had paled dramatically.

"Y...you'd kick me out?!" He breathed, looking at his father with pure disbelief.

"Yes, I would." Arthur said in a firm voice. "I love you, son. But I am not going to have my entire family put in danger just because you can't shut your mouth and refuse to stop bothering another student. You WILL stay out of Harry Potter's way or you will no longer be a Weasley." Arthur said before he turned to the others. "The rest of you boys had better keep him in line, don't think that any of you are out of the woods yet. I have never been so angry or embarrassed in all of my life. I am going to go now, we will be talking more about this later." Arthur said, he took the notes Dumbledore gave him and shoved them in Percy's hand before he walked away, rubbing his face with his hand as he did so. He walked out of the hospital wing and out of the school, he apparated away as soon as he was outside of the school wards. He walked towards his house, the first place he went to was his liquor cabinet, he really needed it right now.

"So, you were going to declare a blood feud because he insulted Tonks?" Daphne asked as she, Tracey and Harry walked out of the classroom, Jet was currently on Daphne's shoulder and enjoying the feeling of her petting him.

"Hey, I can tolerate a lot, but insulting Tonks? That's not on." Harry said as they walked down the hallway, whatever else Harry was about to say was cut off when they suddenly heard a meow and looked down to find a cat in front of them. The trio stopped and looked at the cat.

"Hmm, this one looks a little like a kneazle." Tracey said, a kneazle being a magical animal that looked a lot like a cat. The cat in front of them was very big, bandy-legged, ginger-coloured and had a face that made it look as if he had "run headlong into a brick wall. It also had a bottlebrush tail and yellow eyes.

"Hold on." Daphne said as she waved a wand, the cat glowed but not one colour, part of it glowed green and part of it glowed blue. "It's half kneazle, half cat." Daphne said to the others.

"Hello," Harry said as he kneeled in front of it and extended a hand, the cat looked at Harry for a few seconds before it came closer, it rubbed its nose on Harry's hand before it allowed Harry to pet it. "that's a good boy." Harry smiled. "Are you lost?" Harry asked the cat, the cat looked at him before offering a short nod. "do you want me to help you find your master?" Harry offered, the cat nodded again. "Hey guys, I'll meet you in the common room." Harry said before he transformed into a cat.

Harry and the ginger cat exchanged looks, before Harry gestured the other cat to follow him. Harry walked off with the other cat following after him.

"Glad to know his hero complex isn't limited to humans." Daphne said as she rolled her eyes while Tracey giggled.

Cat-Harry guided the other cat to the great hall, that was the best place to try and find the other cat's owner, if not then they would at least be able to find a teacher. Once they got into the hall Harry heard a voice speak louder than all of the other voices.

"Crookshanks!" A surprised voice shouted as Hermione Granger quickly rushed over and kneeled in front of the ginger cat and began hugging him before she quickly let him go. "Oh, I told you to not to wander about the castle. Did you get lost?" As Granger continued asking question after question Harry had started rolling his cat-eyes, he had just helped Granger. "Oh, is this a new friend of yours?" She asked as she looked at cat-Harry, before she could say anymore Harry transformed back into his human form. Granger and everyone else who was watching gasped as they suddenly found out the Harry Potter was an animagus.

"You...you're an animagus?!" Hermione blurted out, that was an incredibly advanced piece of magic.

"Granger," Harry rolled his now human eyes. "what you should be saying is 'thank you for finding my cat when he was lost'. I'm waiting."

"Oh," Hermione turned red slightly. "Thank you." She said in a quiet voice.

"You're welcome," Harry sighed before he knelt down and offered a hand to Crookshanks, Crookshanks responded by placing his paw in Harry's hand. "it was nice to meet you, Crookshanks." Harry shook his paw before he let go, he nodded to Crookshanks and gave a brief nod to Granger before he turned and left the hall. By the end of the day everyone in the school had learnt two things, the first being that Harry Potter had nearly declared a blood feud with the Weasley's, the second being that Harry Potter was an animagus.

A.N: Hi guys, hope you liked the chapter.

As for the blood feuds, I've heard so much about them in various fics that I genuinely had thought that they were actual canon things that I just didn't know about for some reason or the other. Apparently not so I had to go with what I was able to think of.

Now, I should explain a few things:

When I said 'legally allowed to do whatever it took to kill each other as long as they didn't breach the statue of secrecy or unnecessarily break the law', that means that if they had entered the feud then Harry could have hit Mr Weasley in the throat with a cutting curse to kill him and not get arrested but he would potentially be arrested if he tried to kill him with a killing curse since he didn't really need the spell to kill him.

Hope that makes sense.
