"There's more." Kira hesitated. "The council wants to meet. They're questioning whether the bond affects your judgment, whether you can still rule impartially when your mate is a hybrid with her own political agenda."
Nyx felt Raziel's anger flaring through the bond.
"They're questioning my judgment?" He asked in a dangerous tone.
"They just want to be sure whether you can separate personal feelings from political decisions when your mate is directly involved in hybrid rights issues." Kira put the scrolls she was holding on a nearby table. "The session is in two hours. They want both of you to attend."
"Fine." Raziel stood up. "We'll attend their damn session, and we'll show them exactly how the bond works."
Kira nodded and left. The moment the door closed, Nyx felt Raziel's rage through the bond.
"Raziel, what if they are right?"
He turned towards her in surprise.
