Chapter 1 - IT'S TIME TO DDDDDDDD... do something, Help!

The sun had barely broken the horizon, casting long, orange shadows across the rocky, desolate landscape of the Argon region. For twelve months, this silent, unforgiving land had been the only home of a young man named Yumir. His body was lean and powerful, honed by a year of relentless training; his skin a dark, rich tone; and his long, dreadlocked hair, tied back with gold-dyed ends, was damp with sweat from his morning run.He was 5'10" now, no longer the scrawny orphan who had walked here a year ago, only a vague, strange memory of another world in his mind.

He'd named himself "Yumir" after the heroes of that forgotten life, and given himself a last name, "Dom," a subtle testament to the "family" he was searching for. He never blushed, a strange quirk of his new body, and he lacked shame, a bold confidence defining his every movement.Yumir finished his final set of push-ups atop a flat boulder and caught his breath, his light-brown hazel eyes surveying the horizon.

He reached for a small, simple gauntlet on his forearm—his "Dual Disk"—and his tattered backpack containing his most prized possession: a collection of ten thousand cards from his past life, now the source of his magic. He'd spent the year building his base Ethernano reserves, not his card magic. He knew the long game.

The single unit of magic each card required added up, and a large pool of magic was the ultimate "meta" in this world. He'd learned the value of the "Amulet of Ambition" and "Skill Drain"—cards that could make him or break his foes when his own power was great enough.Suddenly, a massive, distant tremor shook the ground. Yumir's eyes narrowed. A cloud of dust was rising on the horizon, followed by the sound of thunderous roars and powerful magical explosions. He reached into his bag, pulling out a small, unassuming green card.

He didn't fear the chaos; he had a feeling his "side deck" was about to come in handy. It was time to find his family, and it looked like the game had already begun."Showtime," he muttered to himself, a subtle smirk on his face as he slotted the card into his Dual Disk.
