I leaned back slightly in the chair, hands folded over the table, trying not to blink too obviously as Lady Seraphine began explaining her newest invention. The war room, which had felt tense for the past few days, was now buzzing with a strange mix of curiosity, disbelief, and…something else.
I couldn't quite place it at first. Maybe it was the sheer energy of Seraphine herself, or the way her aura seemed to ripple through the room with quiet authority, even with Henry and Joff standing behind her like loyal bodyguards—or maybe it was just that the air smelled faintly of her coffee and something…fierce.
She stood at the front, pacing just slightly, gesturing at the large parchment she had laid across the table. On it was a drawing unlike anything I had seen in my life: a sleek, handheld device with multiple chambers, glowing runes etched along the barrel, and intricate symbols mapped in the margins.
