Info dump

Hi guys, Toxic here. This is an info-dump section you can come back to whenever you need to refresh your memory on certain details. I recommend reading the story first before scrolling through all of this. If you enjoy mystery and surprises, it's better to uncover/discover things naturally. Don't worry, only trivial or previously revealed information will be listed here, so nothing major will be spoiled.

This will mainly consist of additions from my and Volys' doc notes.

Just so you guys know, this novel is being written by two people who had similar ideas

Voly(also known as volrysa)and I have been discussing web novels and novels alike for quite a long time, and thought it was a good idea to make one ourselves (since we were so quick to judge), so please don't hold any criticism or recommendations for changes.

Names of Human Tiers

Recruit – Level 0–10

Apprentice – Level 20–30

Guardian – Level 40–50

Sentinel – Level 60–70

Angel – Level 80+

Beast Tiers

Spawn – (completely dull and unintelligent, easy to fool)

Prowler – (unintelligent, but doesn't fall for simple traps and can target weaknesses better)

Ravager – (subhuman intelligence, just like smart animals)

Titan – (intelligence level smarter than all other animals, like orangutans; super cunning and calculative)

Behemoth – (above average human intelligence)

Primordial – (smarter than most humans, can take humanoid form and speak in human language)

How they match up against each other.

Primordial = ?

Behemoth > Angel (not a huge gap, but unless you have a super OP combat-based innate ability, Angels can't beat a Behemoth).

Titan > Sentinel (same situation).

Ravager > Guardian (very slight difference; if the human battle IQ gaps, the Ravager can win).

Prowler = Apprentice (can be outsmarted without a lot of effort).

Spawn < Recruit (Recruit can set a trap, but it depends on their combat capabilities too, will usually just be a wash, but spawns, spawn (pun intended) in large packs most of the time).

Power System Framework (Current Confirmed Version with Artifacts Expanded MIGHT change in the future.)

The System

Governs growth and progression for everyone. Forcefully enhances individuals on level-up — increasing mana pool, physical capabilities, and control potential. Progression is automatic, but mastery depends on Insight. Without Insight, a person will fall behind despite leveling.

Innate ability

Each person possesses an Innate Power , defining their natural affinity. Powers may be hereditary, innate, or awakened. Strength and evolution of these powers depends on Insight and individual understanding. People can have innate mana elements (e.g., fire, lightning, ice), which affect how they interact with artifacts and abilities.

[Insight]

Insight represents understanding of mana, abilities, and the world's logic. It determines mastery, efficiency, and control, and allows partial mitigation of artifact drawbacks. Low-level users can suffer poisonous Insight, preventing premature mastery or use of god-tier artifacts.

Forced Progression

System upgrades physical and magical traits with each level-up. Physical training and practice allow enhancement outside of the System — ensuring not all individuals with the same level are equally capable. Proper training is necessary; otherwise, naturally lucky or better-trained peers may surpass you despite the same level.

[Interpretation]

interpretation is how you [interpret] your insight, it governs how your abilities evolve.

Artifacts

Artifacts are separate from weapons and come with drawbacks. Drawbacks vary depending on the artifact, element, and the user's Insight and mana mastery.

Innate mana element affects compatibility with artifacts: aligned elements may amplify drawbacks, mismatched elements worsen them. Effects of artifacts are not permanent, especially for low-tier ones. Low-tier artifacts cause issues for ~1–2 months rather than years.

Artifacts may be one-time-use; low-tier ones are strong enough to win battles but not overpowered. Artifact Tiers Low-Tier Artifacts: Mass-produced or common; have standardized, temporary drawbacks. Side effects are mostly physical or mana-related; mitigated somewhat by Insight. Mid-Tier Artifacts Originating from rare but non-godlike beings. Each has unique side effects tied to the creature's abilities.

Effects vary depending on the user's Insight and Interpretation (but generally stay within the same category of ability)

Weapon styles

Separate from artifacts, these are techniques or disciplines that you can [interpret] to fit your innate abilities and combat style, but again, this effect doesn't completely change the style (for now)

How they are used will be shown in the first, maybe second chapter.

(But in most cases, they are simply martial arts that complement your abilities and combat style, so they are chosen carefully)

Wow, that was a lot, I know, but hey, now you get to meet the main cast.

Protagonist: Cyrus Hawthorne

Personality: Smart, cunning basic stuff to do with order, seems detached. Understands emotions but doesn't practise or engage in them often.

Looks: The protagonist has dark brown hair that appears both darker and brighter depending on the lighting. His eyes are a notable feature: green at the center of the iris, transitioning to blue toward the outer edge, all bordered by a pronounced dark limbal ring. This combination is known as central heterochromia. he's also 6'1 and quite handsome.

Deuteragonist: James Ashbourne

Personality: Suspicious of people Untrusting (unless its julien) Kind, basic manners Sometimes impulsive, pretty smart

Looks: James has naturally messy black hair and straightforward brown eyes. He's mildly handsome, with a lean but clearly defined physique. 6'0

FMC1: Amelia Valencourt

Personality: Smart Calm Chilled, Kinda quiet, academic

Looks: (I'm going to keep this short) black hair, 5'11, deep blue eyes and good looking.

FMC2: Tanya Valemont

Personality: Tomboy, lax, cracks jokes, emotionally complex and doesn't get angry easily but isn't a pushover, can abandon morals if need be

Looks: (quite an interesting character to think about) she is 5'10 with light brown hair that falls only to her shoulders and green eyes.

Secondary male: Joshua Blackridge

Personality: Kind. Not as Intelligent as the rest of the group, but still decently smart. Will do anything for his friends. He's always smiling. Doesn't really get angry unless he does... Not a pushover

Looks: (This character took inspiration from someone who's in one of the most popular web novels ever. I wonder if you can guess.) He's 6'0 with messy golden blonde hair, a strong but not overbearing build, and features that always seem to make him look happy.

Anyway, that's all I feel like sharing today, hehe.
