Chapter 2: Dawn of a New Era
As the first morning light attempted to awaken the town to another ordinary day, the approaching massive fleet changed everything. This armada of twelve warships advanced through the waves, their white sails dazzling in the rising sun. And at the forefront, standing on the deck of the flagship, was a man whose name had become legend across the seas: Vice Admiral Doberman.
The townspeople flooded into the streets, whispers spreading from one mouth to another. "Why? Why has so much power come to our small town?"
Doberman's sharp gaze scanned the harbor, impatient to find what he was searching for. He had tracked two ancient powers and come to find their bearers.
Yet the new owners of these powers remained unaware of what had happened to them.
Kai watched the fleet from his room upstairs in the inn, a sense of alarm filling him. Picking a fight with the World Government when they couldn't even control their own powers was no different from suicide.
"Look, Morde," he whispered anxiously, "If we attract their attention, we'll fall into the hands of the World Government. Once we become their targets, we'll never escape."
But Morde felt something entirely different. A dangerous glint shone in his eyes. The dark energy coursing through his veins practically whispered to him: "Use me... test me..."
This warning wasn't enough to curb Morde's rising passion. Was this the first curse of the shadow's power? The desire for unlimited power?
And then the moment arrived. For the first time, the two friends' paths diverged so clearly.
In a moment of decision, Morde leaped from the window and began running straight toward the plaza where Vice Admiral Doberman stood. He was determined to unleash the storm within him, to test the true power of the shadows for the first time.
Kai stared after his friend. He realized there was nothing he could do. With a deep sense of pain and abandonment, he quickly moved away toward the other side of town, toward the forest.
In the plaza, as Morde revealed the true power of the shadows for the first time, Doberman's smile widened. "This is it," he murmured, "The power we've been searching for."

Will Morde be able to challenge Vice Admiral Doberman?
