After a week of uneasy conversations and work the heroes of the sanctuary have run into a new problem. This problem is an emblem burned into the factory conveyor. It was found by Frankenstine on her morning rounds when she saw the still smoking symbol burned into the still rotating conveyor. Her first thought was to get the one person she truly trusted in the entire sanctuary and his boyfriend Robotica and Marrow.
Within the next five minutes the couple had arrived one half dressed with a skeletal armour over their chest and the other in their biomech suit they built with Frankenstine a week ago.
"Why did you interrupt our alone time Frankenstine?" Marrow says clearly grumpy at being interrupted.
"You make is sound like we were fucking darling. We weren't. We were making cookies." Robotica says to clarify Marrows horrid explanation.
They both fall silent upon seeing the emblem.
"So what is it?" Frankenstine asks impatiently.
"Mammons gone and her brothers emblems on her bed." Cam says as he sprints into the room and sees the emblem on the conveyor.
"Who's emblems on her bed?" Robotica says as he slices the emblem out of the conveyor and handing it to Marrow.
"Lucifers"
"Get Titana and spread out in search of emblems. Put the sanctuary on lockdown until we have all emblems locked away in Mammons room. The sins have arrived." Marrow says as he walks away with the emblem.
The next hour was a frantic search with Cam finding the emblem of Beelzebub. Titana finding Belphagor's emblem. Robotica finding Leviathan's emblem. Frankenstine finding Asmodeus' emblem. They all gathered in Mammons room and as expected the only emblem missing was Mammons.
"We've got Satan, Lucifer, Beelzebub, Belphagor, Asmodeus and Leviathan." Robotica says with a sigh.
"They took Mammon." Cam says with obvious rage.
"We need to move the expedition back or we could risk killing everyone here." Marrow says with a sigh.
"Me and Marrow will take shifts guarding this room and if they appear then we will try to stay peaceful and get Mammon back." Robotica says with an uneasy calm to his tone. Everyone agrees and leaves the first shift to Robotica.
Elsewhere Jole was dealing with a dilemma at the entrance. A group of random teens appeared being led by a woman who seemed no older than 25.
"Ma'am I can't just let you in we need to have everyone searched for infection go into lockdown for a few days to make sure you don't bring in anything and get the okay from 2 of our 6 leaders before any of that." Jole says trying to keep his cool as the woman is obviously angered at being denied entry.
"I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW I KNOW THE IMMORTALS AND WILL GET THEM TO ALLOW US INTO THE SANCTUARY IMMEDIATELY IF YOU DON'T SORT YOUR ASS OUT RIGHT NOW." She shouts as one of the teens starts to physically hold her back.
"Please Ma'am just let me call some of our leaders to get you sorted." Jole replies as he uses his robotic arm to contact the over leaders saying "yo we got a karen with a fuck ton of kids at the front gate can I get Marrow or Robotica up here for some help."
Much to his suprise Marrow comes out of the main building laughs at the sight.
"Sup kid how's the apocalypse treating you." Marrow says as he daps up the teen who held back the woman before embracing the woman and kissing her cheek
"And great to see you too Rose."
"Will you let us in dear." Rose says to Marrow in a kind voice as she walk through the gates smugly.
"You all will need to go into lockdown for 2 nights except Toon because we all know he hasn't been bit." Marrow says as he leads them all to the lockdown building.
"DID YOU SAY TOON!" Jole shouts in shock before a comically large hammer hits his head knocking him out.
"Who else would he call kid huh?" The teen who held back Rose says with a smirk.
After the rest of the group were placed in lockdown Marrow leads Toon down to Mammons room where Robotica is still on guard.
"Hey babe I got a kid." He says as they turn the corner to see Robotica.
"What do you mean... Oh hey Toon how you been?" Robotica says with a smile as they biomechs mask pulls back to reveal an massive smile as he embraces the teen.
"The last two years have been hell its just me and Rose now and I've had to protect the hero cadets with everything I've got and even then it wasn't good enough and I don't even know if I'm worth being an immortal anymore because I keep on failing and failing." Toon replies in a fast overstimulated tone as tears well up in his eyes.
"Oh buddy." Robotica replies sympathetically as he starts guiding Toon away "Marrow guard Mammons room I'll deal with our friend."
"Yes sir."
Robotica leads Toon to a room covered in weapons and names engraved over the walls.
"Buddy everyone here has lost people they love and no one can protect everyone. Take me for example I had an entire settlement under my protection we numbered in the hundreds but I went on a mission with my second best and our base was raided by the cannibal core and only 36 survivors were left so we had to go and find a new settlement but along the way we ran into Staminatrix. He killed 30 of us in an instant before the poison kicked in and killed him. After that the Elements of Fate appeared all zombified and killed 2 more of the survivors and leaving me looking half dead and my second in command missing half his skin making him look like two face. Its a miracle I'm still alive yet I still fight on like you have because we are immortals and we never step down when people need saving no matter who it is or what they've done. You are a hero and you always will be kid."
In that moment Toon finally breaks and drops to his knees in tears. Robotica calmly lifts him and carry him to his and Marrows shared room.
"When your in a better head space we'll give your family a real funeral Tommy."
