Chapter 3 - [ CHAPTER II (2) ]

[ Chapter II (2): "BLONDE BLAZER'S GENUINE CONCERN" ]

[ "Please don't do anything stupid this time." ] Mandy dressed in her costume of blue, yellow, and white. As the legendary Blonde Blazer, could be seen frantically flying from one place to another. Concern marinating her features.

And below her is the infamous city of Torrance bustling with energy and life, peaceful on the surface, but underneath are problems. Which is the reason for her concerns, as at the moment, her long time idiotic friend is missing.

Timothy Grey, the notorious dumbass who always does stupid things causing her to always worry, that same guy, is at the moment also a supervillain under therapy in the eyes of the government.

And if the government were to find out that said individual is currently missing with her as the adviser not knowing where he is at. Then her career, the whole SDN branch in Torrance, and everyone under the Phoenix Program might be under a microscope.

The worst of it all, her friend might get in trouble, and go to prison for an indefinite amount of time. The main reason why she invited him to join the Phoenix Program in the first place was to avoid that, and now that plan would be all in ruined!

[ "Chase, you sure this is where his GPS was last spotted?" ] She landed on the ground, on the alleyway as gracefully as ever. Her eyes darting all-around the trash filled place, no sign of her friend in sight.

[ "Yup, this old piece of shit is saying that. Yeah, the kid is there, somewhere." ] Mandy should really remind Chase that the audiolog is being recorded for video training purposes, but then she remembered the part about her illegally turning that off for protection, so no biggie.

About to search the place, she stopped, as she heard movements coming from the overly flooded dumpster to her right. So with excitement, she turned in that direction. [ "Ughh, my... head hurts..." ]

But then quickly became disappointed as the person that came out the dumpster is not her friend, but is instead the common criminal that Timothy was chasing earlier— now with a black eye on his left.

[ "You've got to be kidding me." ] As quickly as the man popped out from the dumpster, then as quickly as Mandy shot a beam of light from her hand, knocking the man out unconscious and back to the dumpster.

[ "Hey, Blazer, great news. I found the signal." ] She could hear the excitement from her friend, coming from her earpiece. But that's futile now, as Timmy is nowhere in sight, causing her dissatisfaction.

[ "I can see that, Chase. But it's not Sanctuary, it's just the common criminal earlier." ] She eyed the earpiece rapidly beeping inside the dumpster right beside the knocked out thug which is smiling, now with two black eyes instead of one.

About to fly off and drag the said kidnapper to the nearest police she could find, she paused, as Chase on the line talked. [ "No, no. You don't get it kid, I'm tracking another signal! This one comes from his personal phone or something." ]

[ "Are you sure?" ] She asked, wanting to reconfirm what she had heard, and praying inside her head that it was true.

[ "Is your computer broken? If not, then I'm definitely sure, 100%." ] Her computer isn't broken, so that means... Timothy is alive!

Mandy was both excited and relieved when she heard that, remembering the fact that whenever Timothy's phone is in use, then a signal would be sent. A small favor she had asked him in case of emergencies, like for example, this case of emergency.

[ "Where?!" ] So in a hurried tone, she asked. In her arms is the knocked out criminal, as she then levitated in the air before then finally flying up high in the sky; eyes darting from each of the four corners of the city.

[ "221A Carpenter Street, right on the outskirts of the city." ] Chase said, which was enough for Mandy as she flew as fast as she could to that said direction. Luckily, she knows where that exact street is; perks of being a nerd under SDN.

[ "God, Timmy, why do you have to always make me worry..." ] She remembers the face of her old time friend, when they first met at college. His face whenever he gets into a fight, and finally his stupid eat shitting grin and loud laugh. [ "You better not have done anything dumb." ]

[ -----| SCENE BREAK |----- ]

[ A: KILL THE KIDNAPPERS ]

[ B: SPARE THE KIDNAPPERS ]

Under his mask, Timothy is fuming with unknown emotions that he couldn't fully describe— extreme anger would probably be the closest, but that is tame in comparison to what he really is feeling at the moment. Perhaps disgust.

[ "We-we we're only told what to do, w-we had no choice!" ] He can't fully describe it, his thoughts jumbled at the moment as he stares at the eyes of the children, all looking famished dressed in rags, messy and dirty.

As slowly one-by-one the children started to look at his direction, some staring blankly at the wall before doing the same, while others were sleeping like dogs in their containment cage. Perhaps even treated worse than common dogs.

All the children, or at the least those who are looking at the entrance seems to be caught in some sort of trance, the crying of theirs stopped as they stared at Timothy.

The only noise that could be heard was from the kidnapper behind him, which he had blocked out a long time ago. [ "I swear I didn't know about their condi-!" ] His mouth getting sealed by a round of undead flies, entering his mouth, finally cutting the noise.

Staring at the wide-eyed children, and the condition that they have been in, Timothy felt something inside him snap— perhaps something deep, deep inside his soul, as he remembers the "punishments" that his father would give him.

He remembers the cases when he wasn't allowed to eat for days, or even get a drop of water, locked in his room like a bird in a cage. He compared that time to the experience these children are experiencing. His powerless, his inability to do anything, his want to get revenge, or to get out.

[ "Are you..." ] About to command his trusty companion to kill the kidnappers with no mercy, leaving no trace behind; he knows they're capable of that, as usually in feeding time a drop of blood from their food is nowhere to be seen. [ "A hero?!" ]

But he paused when he read the lips of the child that was in his peripheral, too out of it to have actually heard what the said child said. [ "What..." ] Instinctively asking out loud, as he tries to think of a word that the child could have mouthed.

[ "Like those on tv..." ] Even though his vision is blurred due to his body having adapted to the dark, could still see the badass superhero getup. Especially thanks to the light, shining down on him and some others. [ "A real life super... hero..." ]

[ "I'm not-" ] About to deny what the child said, Jeremy H. from what he could read, he couldn't, as all the children yelled out in excitement; voices loud and overlapping one another, to the point that he wondered, how big is the basement of this house?

Curious by that, and worried about the children, he went down the flight of stairs and the closer he got, the more he could hear the children. And the more he felt pity and worry for the children, anger and disgust to the kidnappers. [ "Holy..." ]

Nathan, Jasper, Benjamin, Cassidy, Victor, Diana, Finn, Gabriella, Wyatt, Elias, Harper, Israel, Jacob, Una, Kiara, Liam, Margot, Oliver, Teagan, Sophia, Iris... and even... Timothy. There was more than he expected.

The count of the children in the cages easily reached more than 50, as at the moment he could see each and every single one of them clearly. All breathing a sigh of relief in seeing him, screaming, crying, some are even trying to reach out.

[ "I can see mommy!" ] A boy in oversized clothes, red eyes, crying, yelled out loud.

[ "A hero, a hero came to save us, Becky. Everything is finally going to be okay!" ] A skinny girl said to her teddy bear, in excitement, coughing up seconds later.

[ "Please save us!" ] The same said boy earlier, reached out to him, eyes wide, as if Timothy is an extraterrestrial being that came down specifically to save them. He's absolutely correct. All that and more.

[ "Beelzie, get them out of those... cages." ] There was a venom in his voice, on the last part. But it was replaced with worry again, as he sees the state of the children eating out of small plastic containers and drinking out of the same container, no bed in sight.

[ "Don't worry, I'll get all of you out of here! I'm here, no one needs to worry!!" ] He said, but due to the loudness of the children, overtime he increased the volume of his voice until he felt him strain his vocal. He ignored it, as flies slowly ate the cages.

Some of the children screamed in seeing thousands of flies swarm over their cages, even him would have screamed if he didn't know Beelzie's powers. So he reassured them all, yelling out. [ "Everything is fine, no one panics!! That is my superpower!!!" ]

It did little to no help.
