Chapter 1 - Introduction

Long before Serene Valehart ever lifted a sword, the Aurellian Empire had already earned its name as the land of knights — a realm where honor shaped every road, every tower, every heartbeat.

From the storm-touched cliffs of the east to the frozen moonlit borders of the north, Aurellia stood firm beneath banners of silver and gold, its strength woven from five great noble duchies who guarded the empire like pillars of an ancient temple.

The Drakovs held the south with fire and iron, their warriors born from battlefields.

The Ciryne kept the north in quiet vigilance, their scholars tending to the empire's oldest truths.

The golden west belonged to House Albrecht, whose coin and caravans fed entire cities.

Far beyond the forests and ravens' cries, House Vayne watched the borders unseen.

And in the east, among silver gardens and courtly halls, the Valeharts shaped peace with gentle words instead of steel.

For centuries, their balance kept the empire steady.

And at the heart of it all stood the Royal Knight Academy, where children of every house — noble-born and common alike — learned the art of discipline and the weight of a blade.

Here, legacies were forged.

Here, pride was shattered and rebuilt.

Here, the future of Aurellia took its first uncertain steps toward greatness.

Yet Aurellia, for all its splendor, was not untouched by shadows.

Old tales whispered through northern winds, carried across stone corridors and frostbitten nights.

Stories of forgotten wars, ancient steel, and things that once moved beneath the moonlight.

Most dismissed them as myths — the kind told to wide-eyed children.

But the empire knew this much:

peace is delicate, and even the steadiest kingdom can tremble when old truths begin to stir.

It is in this world — of lilies and swords, honor and hidden truths —

that Serene Valehart takes her first step onto the path of a knight.
