They even claim that the animals of this forest have their own complex communication system and that they can actually learn the languages human tongue!
Legend says that when the rural king's son heard this, he quickly ventured into this evil forest with his aids to capture a string of horses, intending to breed these highly intelligent beasts for warfare!
Legend also says that a week later, a troop of abnormally big baboons escorted the ambitious youths now looking listless back to the village.
And there are many more tales Eastern Ubuntuhurites tell. In some, a snake or a bat or a fox or a hare but most usually a tortoise would come to the surrounding villages for no discernable reason than to scam people for all intents and purposes.

This novel is a collection of happenings amongst the inhabitants of this evil forest, a type of animals called fables. Apparently they somehow achieved enlightenment? Maybe it's something in the lake at the centre of the forest? The mystery!? That's not the point.
The point is can an animal king rule with justice and righteousness? And if yes! How does that look like/ what does this entail i.e the standard for animals?
