Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

It was already evening. Chen Guo stretched her slender arms and legs while sitting on the sofa. She had taken a short nap earlier and had just woken up before dinner. After shutting off the television, she went downstairs and saw Tang Rou finishing her shift. Her work hours were nearly over, and another sister was ready to take her place.

"I'm taking over, Little Tang," she said.

Tang Rou nodded and smiled. "Okay…" She had been thinking about how to get a Glory account card and wanted to ask Guo Guo for help. She couldn't leave earlier because of work, but now that her shift was done, it was the perfect time—especially when she saw Guo Guo coming her way.

Tang Rou greeted her happily. "Guo Guo! You're finally awake. There's something I wanted to ask you," she said eagerly.

Seeing her enthusiasm, Chen Guo was a little puzzled. "What do you need me for, Little Tang?" she asked.

Tang Rou didn't hide her intentions. "Actually, Guo Guo, I want to play Glory.

Meanwhile, Ye Xiu and Ron had already arrived at the Bone Graveyard. The battle against the wild boss, Blood Gunner Yagg, had begun—but there were no signs of big guilds yet. The boss was being attacked by a group of normal players, and many were dying left and right.

"What do you think?" Ron asked Ye Xiu as the two hid behind a gravestone, watching the chaotic scene unfold.

"Stealing the boss wouldn't be a problem," Ye Xiu said confidently.

"I see. My job here is done then—I'll be heading off," Ron replied and started to move his character away.

To be honest, he wasn't interested in the boss itself; he only wanted to see if something noteworthy would happen. Now that he'd led Ye Xiu to the wild boss, he was sure Ye Xiu would steal it under the guilds' noses.

"Leaving already? Why not stay and help me steal the boss?" Ye Xiu suggested.

He could use the extra hand—especially since Ron had said earlier that this wild boss didn't drop the materials he needed. Ye Xiu figured that Ron was just giving him a chance to upgrade his silver weapon.

"Oh? I don't think stealing a wild boss from these guys would be difficult for you," Ron said firmly.

Hearing that, Ye Xiu felt a bit embarrassed. He was about to reply when a message notification popped up—it was from Blue River.

"This guy…" Ye Xiu narrowed his eyes at the chat box. It was his previous client from the Frost Forest dungeon run. They had a decent relationship, but this time Blue River was asking for his location to fight the wild boss.

Seeing Ye Xiu suddenly go quiet, Ron decided to wait for a few minutes. Something might have happened. He didn't want anyone killing Ye Xiu or stealing his silver weapon. He found the weapon fascinating and hoped to see its full potential soon—so he brought Ye Xiu here on purpose, knowing he might need the boss's drop materials.

After a few moments, Ye Xiu finally spoke again. "I just received a message from Blue Brook Guild. They want me to help them kill the wild boss."

"Blue Brook Guild, huh…" Ron repeated, his tone indifferent. He didn't seem to have a good impression of guilds.

"Do you have some bad blood with Blue Brook?" Ye Xiu asked.

"Rather than me having a problem with them, it's more that *they* have a problem with me," Ron said calmly.

"Oh? What happened?" Ye Xiu asked, intrigued. He knew the ins and outs of the major guilds, and Blue Brook didn't seem like the type to start conflicts.

"Well, back in Heavenly Domain, their guild leader approached me and tried to recruit me. I refused, but he kept insisting, so I… massacred them. That's all," Ron said nonchalantly. "Come to think of it, that guy earlier—Thousand Creation—was also part of Blue Brook."

"…" Ye Xiu could only respond with silence. *Are you sure that's not bad blood?* he thought. But he didn't ask further, since the guilds were already making their move.

"It's starting now," he said instead.

Ron, who had planned to leave, decided to stay and lend a hand. He wasn't interested earlier, but now that the battle was unfolding before him, he couldn't resist joining in.

"Seems like I won't be leaving just yet," he said, forming a party with Ye Xiu.

"Ugrhh!!!" a Mage groaned as his body was slammed into a gravestone by the Blood Gunner. His HP dropped to zero instantly, and he collapsed, his corpse lying motionless for a few seconds before choosing to revive.

When he disappeared, a Witch character floated out from behind a gravestone on a broom, glaring down at the scene.

"What a bunch of nobodies!" he sneered. The player's name was Plantago Seed, an ace sent by Herb Garden to pioneer the new server.

"Noobs, obviously…" another voice chimed in from behind—it was Cold Night from Tyrannical Ambition.

Plantago Seed clicked his tongue. "What are you guys doing here? Hiding like rats while your men do the fighting?" he mocked.

"I don't want to hear that from *you*," Cold Night shot back. The two immediately began arguing.

"Here we go again…" Bound Boat sighed. Every time there was a wild boss battle, arguments like this always broke out—it was practically tradition. But Blue River seemed oddly quiet.

"What's wrong, old Blue?" Bound Boat asked, noticing his silence.

"Oh!?" Blue River snapped out of his thoughts. "It's nothing…" he said quickly.

In truth, he was a bit down. Lord Grim had rejected his invitation earlier, and to make things worse, he had received a message from Thousand Creation—apparently, the guy had tried to steal a kill from Lord Grim and got killed by his friend instead. Blue River suspected that might be why Lord Grim refused his offer.

*It would be troublesome to pull him in now…* he muttered.

"ARGH!!!" Suddenly, the boss let out a roar. The guild leaders turned to look—three players were fighting Blood Gunner Yagg: a Striker, a Mage, and a Brawler.

The Mage started with Raging Flames, while the Striker dashed forward to follow up. When the boss charged the Mage, his attack pushed it back, and the Brawler took advantage by using Sand Toss, aiming for Yagg's eyes, then followed with Knee Strike! The combo lifted the boss upward in a clean motion.

"A Sand Toss followed by Knee strike with a hidden effect? That Brawler might be a hidden expert," Cold Night exclaimed.

"Next, he should use a brick to hit it in the head…" Plantago Seed commented.

But instead, the Brawler slapped Blood Gunner Yagg across the face.

"What the fuck is that Brawler doing!?" Plantago Seed yelled in disbelief. "Slapping raises aggro! He's doomed! Hahaha!"

"Could that Brawler be not a noob but just stupid?" Bound Boat muttered.

The Brawler—Steamed Bun Invasion—ran for his life as Blood Gunner Yagg chased him down, firing wildly. Steamed Bun miscontrolled his character and got knocked back, landing in a tree. He was about to die.

He braced himself for the final hit, but to his surprise, the boss's attack never landed. Just before it fired, Ye Xiu intercepted with Sky Strike, knocking it up.

Ron used that opening to double-jump behind the boss and stab it with Double Stab. The boss didn't bleed—it was undead—but that wasn't the point. He and Ye Xiu were controlling the boss's position. Ye Xiu followed with Dragon Tooth, then knocked it back toward Ron with Falling Flower Palm.

Ron responded with Triple Slash, driving Blood Gunner Yagg into the open area. Ye Xiu quickly commanded the mage to cast Raging Flames again, just as the cooldown ended.

Even while giving out orders, Ye Xiu still had the time to tell Steamed Bun Invasion to invite them to his party.
