Evelin's POV
"What?" Grey's eyes went wide, staring at me like I'd just spoken in tongues.
"What did you just say? You're telling me you saved me after I got stabbed eight times and fell into the river?"
I could practically see the gears turning in his head. He'd always believed Grace was his rescuer.
But I wasn't about to explain myself to him.
Grey stepped toward me, but Grace yanked him back hard, her grip stopping him cold.
He froze, looking down at her. Her head was bent low, hiding whatever expression crossed her face.
Her hand shook against his arm.
The boarding announcement echoed through the terminal. Haward's hand landed on my shoulder. "Time to go. When you get to Bellatrix, hit the hospital first. Get those injuries checked out properly."
"Don't blow off the small stuff just because you're tough."
"Got it," I said.
Haward straightened, his posture shifting to military precision as he saluted me. "Martyrs Colin Elysia and Jamiya Elysia, safe travels home!"
