"There's this girl named Evelin. She's Miller Elysia's descendant," Shane explained.
"Miller?" Margot's voice caught. "But doesn't his family line end with him?"
Shane let out a heavy breath. "Not quite. Evelin's the last one standing from that bloodline.
"You know, Miller's family has been through hell.
His descendants kept getting smaller and smaller, and now it's just her.
"She's showing up at the memorial hall tomorrow to place her parents' ashes there for several days before the burial, then she'll make memorial tablets for them."
Margot's eyes narrowed slightly. "You planning to welcome her tomorrow?"
Shane barely had ties to Miller's family anymore, and years of silence had made them practically strangers.
Still, he nodded. "Doesn't matter what happened between us. She's Miller's blood. I need to be there. It's the right thing to do."
"What if I go instead?" Margot suggested.
