Evelin's POV
As I stood there, I saw a crowd gathered outside the Elysia family Memorial Hall. Two neat rows of soldiers stood at attention, flanked by numerous local government officials, all wearing somber black clothing as they waited by the entrance. Looking over at Margot, I could see the sight struck her like a brutal wake-up call.
Moments earlier, she'd been taunting me, claiming that without family members to escort me, I'd have to face the funeral completely alone.
Now she understood that even without Elysia family support, the nation itself would send representatives to honor my parents' final journey.
They were martyrs. The nation never abandons its heroes.
Even random pedestrians stopped walking when they witnessed the ceremony unfolding.
Margot's complexion went ashen.
She'd spotted Jimmy among the gathering.
Dressed in a sharp black suit, Jimmy stood within the crowd, his expression grave, his attention focused entirely on me.
Margot felt stunned.
