Evelin's POV
"Don't you think hanging around outside the memorial hall is way too obvious? Plus, it's got to be exhausting," I asked.
Jimmy's striking looks made him impossible to ignore, especially standing right in front of the Elysia memorial hall. Passersby couldn't help but steal glances his way.
Even during my brief time inside, I'd noticed several people repeatedly looking in his direction.
"No," he answered, his tone steady.
"Fine," I said, touching my nose.
Since we'd accomplished what we came here for today, I suggested, "Let's get going."
I started walking ahead of him.
"Evelin!" His voice rang out behind me.
I stopped mid-step and turned around to face him.
"As long as you don't abandon me, I'll keep waiting for you just like this," he said without warning.
I froze, my mind racing.
What's he getting at?
What does he mean by "keep waiting for me"?
But Jimmy didn't elaborate. Instead, he took my hand and led me toward the roadside.
