Evelin's POV
I saw Selina jolt, her expression one of sudden surprise. I could only guess at the thought that had startled her—perhaps she was questioning something she'd just witnessed.
She seemed to shake her head slightly, as if dismissing whatever notion had crossed her mind.
Jimmy and I headed back to the villa together.
I was about to retreat to my room when he caught me off guard. "If I had actually shattered Allen's hand today, what would you have done?"
I stopped mid-step, then replied, "I wouldn't let you get that far."
"I'm talking hypothetically."
"There's no hypothetical," I said firmly. "I won't let you hurt Allen like that."
His lashes fluttered, and he locked his gaze on me. "You're defending Allen this fiercely just because he was your comrade?"
I stated the obvious. "Isn't that reason enough?"
"You've both been discharged!" he shot back. "You and Allen!"
