Evelin's POV
Grace's scream pierced the air.
The stunning diamond necklace vanished from her throat in a flash, now resting in Allen's palm.
I stopped and turned toward Allen, surprised. "Why are you here?"
Allen approached me with confident strides. "You mentioned heading to the Elysia house when I called this morning. Thought I'd swing by."
Right—Allen had called while I was driving over. I just hadn't expected him to actually show up.
Grey stepped between us, his face flushed with anger. "Mr. Samson, this is completely unacceptable! You can't just take things like that. I could have you arrested for theft!"
"Theft?" Allen let out a dry laugh, tossing the necklace casually in his hand.
"I'm simply recovering what belongs to Evelin from the marital assets. You really think you'd win that lawsuit?"
Grey's confident expression crumbled. He'd clearly forgotten that Allen's mother's side came from one of Bonnie City's most powerful legal dynasties.
