"Stupid Celestial—what are you call it? Whatever… because of them, I have no war to participate in!" A red haired rambled about his recent bad luck.
As a mercenary, his job was war! He was an addict! He has that thrill in a battlefield, a war junkie, it's his existence, and Moralia was good for him when it came to that. He would increase AEU influence worldwide and, in turn, they would allow him to wage war.
But then these morons with extremely advanced mobile suits spawned from nowhere and went on destroy his war business!
"..."
"..."
As he walked swiftly toward his car, a voice stopped him.
"I heard you lost your job, Ali al-Saachez." Someone said from the side.
"...WHO!?" The man rapidly pulled out a gun on this individual.
"Someone who has to offer what you want?" Soon enough, a nobleman-like individual emerged from the shadows. One of his eyes was glowing red.
The mercenary looked confused, but the next moment, there were a pair of red rings around his eyes.
"If you are willing to swear loyalty to my Emperor, you will have your war and a mobile suit like no other."
"...Sure… if you want me to do that… for war? I will swear my loyalty." The red-haired man grinned from ear to ear.
"Wonderful, then welcome to Celestial Being."
"Hahaha, isn't that just precious? You guys want me to wage conflicts for you?" The mercenary laughed at this. It will be hilarious!
"Indeed, follow me, there is a mission for you. A certain man needs kidnapping."
"Easy enough." Ali snorted, that sounds easy.
~~~~~~Meanwhile~~~~~~
In Japan, the TV company by the name Japanese News Network or JNN for short, got a rising star by the name Euphemia Clyne. This girl was loved by everyone, and she is always at the right time and place for stories that are the scoop of the year, easily.
But there are some people who are wary of her. Among them was Kinue Crossroad, a twenty-two-year-old journalist who is following in her father's footsteps.
She was working on Aeolia Schenberg's case to find something interesting about this man. She had a decent documentary about him released recently, but she knew there was more to it.
This newcomer overshadowed that! This woman revealed some crazy stuff, like revealing a bunch of sensitive-sounding information like Linear trains being in the Celestial Being pocket, or UN!
Such information immediately earned the newcomer a promotion!
"...How do you do it?" The girl asked Euphemia.
"Hmm? Oh well… I know some people who want things revealed. It's called contacts." The pinkette winked at her.
'Of course its connections…'
"...I see… Sadly, I am not that well-connected. All I have is my intuition." Kinue said with a sigh.
"Oh, and what does your intuition tell you?" Euphemia asked the fellow journalist.
"That Marcus Anaheim is not what it seems to be."
The brown-haired journalist dropped a bombshell, not seeing how Euphemia's eyes turned cold all of a sudden.
"Oh, why do you think like that?"
"A bit strange, each time Celestial Being does something, He gets a promotion or has more sponsors… It's like it's man-made. My father always taught me to question everything. Things are not that simple in the world.
There is a reason for such events." Kinue said with a frown.
"I see. I guess when you like that, it makes sense." Euphemia smiled, but her smile didn't reach her cold eyes.
"What does your father do?" the Pinkette Journalist asked with a curious tone.
"He died while doing journalism."
'You will join him then.' The pacifist Princess thought to herself. She won't allow anyone to interfere in Marcus peace, that is as simple as that.
"I see… how about this. I COULD get you a meeting with Marcus Anaheim, IF you want. That is, if you keep silent and don't say a soul who allowed this to happen."
'Her contacts!'
"...S-Sure. I won't share something like this easily!" Kinue looked delighted at such an opportunity.
Euphemia smiled as she gently patted her shoulder.
"Good luck."
For some reason, that pat was like farewell…
"I will send you a message where his security will pick you up." The pinkette said while walking to the coffee machine.
Kinue slowly nodded at this information.
"After Moralia, Union doesn't allow just anyone to approach their Golden Boy." This time around, Euphemia's smile was a bit more genuine.
"I understand." The journalist girl slowly nodded; she understood that.
"Then good luck with your interview."
With that said, Euphemia made her coffee. After that, she went to her desk in the private office. As a Manager, she has her own office.
Once at her desk, she opened her laptop and went to a specific webpage, which was a blank page with a dot for writing. She typed a message there before closing this page and deleting her search history.
It was quick, and she had done it many times already.
'Let's see how far your intuition will go here, Ms Crossroad. You should just focus on your assigned tasks and not this.' Euphemia's eyes turned cold one more time. The Imperial Princess can't believe that there are people who would question Marcus goals. He already helped thousands, from lowering people's bills to helping them walk once more. The sheer audacity of some of these people!
Yet, there are some ungrateful bitches who are looking for something they should not.
~~~
A few days later, Kinue Crossroad walked to a designated location. It was a bit suspicious-looking, from the early hours to its remoteness.
"This should be the spot." She looked at her phone, but then a pair of hands came out from a shadow, grabbing her.
Her eyes widened as she tried to struggle, but there was cloth over her mouth she could smell it was some sort of chemical!
Before she realised darkness had claimed her, a pair of black-suited people in dark glasses came out; moments later, a black SUV drove over.
A pack of black-suited guys jumped out from the car as they swiftly wrapped the journalist girl in ropes and threw her into the back of the SUV.
Seconds later, the car drove away, and the alley was silent once more. Everything lasted only a few short seconds.
The SUV left the Metropolitan area, then moved into the suburbs, then out of the city entirely, into a forested area.
Once they arrived at the place, they walked. The four suited guys got out of the car and pulled Kinue out of the back of the black car. By this point, she had regained consciousness; the girl looked terrified.
One of the guys pulled out a pistol with a silencer and pointed it at her.
That made her petrified! Who are these people! How are they related to Marcus Anaheim? Is Euphemia working with them!?
Countless questions were swirling around her mind!
"Wait… I got an update."
One of the guys stopped the gun-wielding one. He had his hand on an earpiece.
"The boss wants her alive. He wants to talk with her."
"Alright."
"He is taking her to S.P." The comms guy said after lowering his hand.
"...S.P? Damn." The pistol guy sounded surprised.
"Well, well, Ms Crossroad, prepare yourself, your mind is about to be blown into a thousand pieces." The pistol guy chuckled for a second as he holstered his pistol, and then they dragged her back into the SUV.
None of this made sense to Kinue, who is their Boss? What is S.P?
Regardless, once more, she was in the trunk of the car, in darkness, her legs and hands were tied!
But then… she heard the car stop and moments later the trunk opened, and she could see the daylight. It must have been hours as these kidnappers kept on driving and driving!
She was pulled out, and it took a moment to adjust to the bright light. What she saw was an abandoned airfield of some sort, as before her was a plane of some sort or even… a spaceship!?
There were black-armoured people with strange rifles waiting for her.
'W-Who are they!? A-Are they going to hand me over to them!?' Kinue's eyes trembled as she shook her head, trying to complain.
If these people take her away, she doubts she could return! Who knows where they could take her!
*Muffled Screams*
While the girl tried to scream, she was effortlessly handed over to the black-armoured people. They took her like a sack of potatoes and took her to the spaceship.
Inside thetransporter,r they threw her into a seat. It was a luxurious seat, something like a first-class seat on a plane. Clearly, this vessel is not used to carry prisoners…
Moments later, she watched over the window as the spaceship-like plane took off and flew at absurd speeds.
'How can this be… who are these people…and where are they taking me!?'
Before long, she saw ice walls in the distance, which looked like icebergs and ice sheets. It was pure white as far as she could see… and they were rapidly flying towards the ice wall!
'Oh no…. Are they going to slam into it!?'
For a second, she closed her eyes, but then, nothing happened. She waited for a bit before opening her eyes. They were flying in ice caverns!
'W-Where are we?'
A bit later, her eyes bulged as she saw a cavern. It was a vast clearing with a massive arch at its centre.
There was a considerable-sized military barracks of some sort. With hangars, it looked like a research facility, and she could see satellite dishes as well.
But isn't this a cavern?
Moments later, they landed, and Kinue got bag treatment once more. One of the black-armoured guys picked her up and threw her over his shoulder.
They left the vessel, and the cold greeted the girl; it was freezing!
'T-This is no doubt the South Pole! Why are we in Antarctica!?'
The journalist girl trembled as cold seeped into her.
'Damn it, it's so cold here!'
Thankfully, she didn't stay outside for long, as these spaceships land close to the facilities, and soon enough, they took her inside and then into a specifically prepared room.
It was quite lavish… and a bit… old style? Like those old blood manors.
'Where am I? Marcus Anaheim isn't from old blood…'
Now she was getting even more confused! What is this place!? It's definitely not related to Union or that Inventor.
Then someone walked in. It was dressed in a strange get-up, with a cloak and a mix of military garb and noble attire.
"At least they could have given you a jacket. Sometimes these A.S.P guys can be hard-handed." The man spoke to her in a friendly tone.
He undid the ropes around her hands and legs. Kinue removed the cloth around her mouth by herself.
"...Do you know that this is kidnapping!"
The brown-haired guy rolled his eyes when he heard that.
"You are way, way over your head, Miss Crossroad." He used her surname after reading from a tablet.
"Your father got killed for doing the very same thing, aren't you afraid for your brother?" He said with a sigh.
"...Who are you?"
"Like I said, way, way over your head. I won't be answering your questions; I am here to make sure you don't get yourself killed until my Emperor arrives from his meeting in America."
'Emperor… who?'
She was confused. Why such old terms? There are no true monarchies left in the world. There are some countries that still have symbolic monarchies, but an Emperor?
It doesn't sound like it's symbolic but more like a genuine thing!
"Are you hungry? Maybe some tea?" He asked with a smile.
"...Who are you? At least tell me your name." She asked with a hopeful tone.
All he got was an amused headshake.
"Didn't anyone tell her that curiosity killed the cat? You do realise that you won't be leaving this place… ever."
"..."
That information got her… a bit scared for her life.
